Hi
Could anyone tell me if its possible to find a death record within the last 10yrs as I believe records on this site are over 10 years old (am I right?). If so where can I find this information please? I've googled obituaries and the local newspaper but not found anything. The lady would have been fairly young and married at the time.

Any info gratefully received
Many thanks
Cassie

Which country?

Deaths in England and Wales up to 2019 are on the GRO site.
https://www.gro.gov.uk
Free to search, though you need to register.

Deaths in Scotland are on Scotlands People up to just a few weeks ago.
Free for basic search, but need to register.

FindMyPast has some deaths to 2020.
Ancestry has some burials (not death records) to 2021.

The helpers here on the GR boards hardly ever use GR for researching records.

Sorry I forgot to say England (likely Manchester area). Do I have to order a certificate to get the info please?

:-)

Yes, if you want the full details.
The basic search result , from 1984 onwards, only gives you the name, place of death, year and quarter of death, and the year of birth of the deceased person. and of course the reference numbers which you need for ordering the cert.

Order on the GRO site.

Information about ordering here:

Thanks for the useful info.
I'm actually trying to ascertain if someone has passed away but don't require a certificate so I'll check GRO.

Many thanks :-)
