	You don't say where you think the divorce took place. The advice above applies to English divorces Scottish divorces before 1st May1984 are recorded as an added note on the marriage cert: https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/birth-death-and-marriage-records/register-of-corrected-entries/rce-marriages
