I know they must have been together a very long time because i remember her saying about her accident that she was 21 & they were in a sports car, she was thrown out & her head hit the curb

i've got no way of knowing if he had a different name... he was always known as Jim but could easily of had a different name....

i'll see if i can find a marriage cert for an albert & phillis

I can’t find when South Ealing Cemetry was closed to new burials but I did find the council very helpful when I was looking for a grave.

ErikaH Report 29 Oct 2021 15:45

FMP suggests this is that woman in 1939 - in spite of the difference in birth year 'Jim' could have been a nickname

Afternoon everyone

Need some new ideas

I've searched for donkeys years for Phillis & Jim Townsend but without any luck but every few years i have another go at finding them.

This is what i remember.....when i was a child my parents owned a hardware store called Heathside DIY in Hanworth Road Hounslow......(late 60's early 70's) there was a little road alongside this shop just called "Heathside" (not Road or Avenue etc)

Phillis & Jim lived half way along this road in a bungalow ( I can't remember the number)
I used to go across on a Saturday morning to visit them & Phillis taught me to cook. This lady was heaven sent to me & i adored her.... she was partially paralysed from a car accident when she was young & as far as i'm aware they had no children.

When she died in the early 70's from a stroke i was about 11years old & they gave me her necklace that she always wore ( this little necklace is one of my most treasured possessions ) I have such wonderful memories of them .

I don't know if she was cremated or buried but it was local.

I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps they weren't married as i've never been successful finding them not even living in the bungalow in Heathside.

Over the years i've built several trees & been quite successful with my research this is so frustrating.

Any ideas....... TIA
