PM of thanks from Doreima today.

The Woking address is correct and she has found a living relative.

She says she'll post on the "Success" board.

Advice given to remain on this one, where the research has been done.

As already said, Patricia and Eric had two children, 1954 and 1956 Surrey.

There are two feasible marriages for people of the same name as the 1954 child , and several ER entries - but none in Surrey, so it's impossible to guess which one, if any, might be that child.

The 1956 child probably married a Harris in Surrey in 1979.
(Again, look on FreeBMD)
According to the ER on GR (under "Search" at top right of this page) that couple were living in the Birmingham area at least until 2018.
The house has not been sold since then (per Zoopla - Google the house address when you've found it on the ER), so if they're the owners and not tenants they're probably still there. Even if they're tenants they may still be there.
Again, try writing tactfully to them at that address.

EDIT:

PM from Doreima, to say that she has written to the Woking address.

ArgyllGran Report 16 Feb 2022 10:22

In response to a PM of thanks from Doreima, I've PMd the address, with the usual advice about treading carefully, in view of Patricia's age, and as we don't know Doreima's connection to the family.

There's also a phone number in the BT online phonebook.

It's possible that Patricia has died or moved since 2020, but if so, as the house hasn't been sold, presumably a relative or solicitor is dealing with things and would respond to a letter.

Just to add that the address to 2020 that Argyllgran found for Patricia was correct. She and Eric were living at that address with a female surnamed Gibbons, in the late 1950s on earlier Surrey ERs on Ancestry.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 14 Feb 2022 18:41

The ER entry I mentioned earlier is for a woman born 1924-26, per ER on Ancestry, so seems correct.

Ancestry also has an ER for someone of the same name and address, but born 1987-89 in their transcription, but that is a mistake.
The years of residence are given as 2003, 2006-2007, which fit in with the years of residence of the correct entry: 2004-2005, 2008-2010.

On ER on GR she's listed at that address up to 2020.

Patricia did not die in 1982 - at least not in Scotland, England or Wales.

Looking at the Electoral Rolls (under "Search" at top right of this page) it appears she may have been still living, in Woking in 2020.

The house has not been sold since then, so she (or one of her children) may still be there.

To find Eric's birth record, use that site too.

Just enter his name in a birth search, and his birth registration is the only one that comes up.
You'll see he was born in 1908.

Leonard was born in 1906 - also easily found on FreeBMD.

Go to this free to use site.

https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

If you look up Clack births, with mother surname Voak, you will find two births, one in 1942, and the other in 1945.

Searching for Clack births, with mother's maiden name Gibbons, shows two births in Surrey, in 1954 and 1956.

Try it, and see how you get on.

You can then do the same for Leonard and his wives.

Details so far. Leonard was born in Wandsworth in c1908 and died 1988. Eric died 1977 Hillingdon Gtr London but I don't have a birth date for him. The brothers both married twice, I know who the two ladies were who married Leonard and have found vague details of Eric's wives (Hilda Maude Voak, they married 1940 apparently had one child, and later he married Patricia L Gibbons 1951 and I believe she died 1982, not sure if there were children.
As I'm a new member on this site I'm still finding my way around. Can anyone tell me the name of the child or children of either brothers and their wives please. Thank you for reading this, Doreima.
