It will be as correct as the info known by the next of kin and given on a death certificate or the person arranging a gravestone memorial

Re Thomas Hitt, died 1716 -

The details of relatives are as transcribed from the family gravestone. Whether or not they are correct is another matter .
Whoever carved it, or supplied the dates to the carver, thought they were correct.

There are no birth or death dates on the stone for that man's wife Sarah.

Are you thinking that the Will and the grave are for the same man?

They're definitely not.

One man died in 1716.
The other was still living and making his Will in 1758.

The latter wrote his Will in July 1758, and his Will was proved in November 1758.

The Sarah who was buried on 1st July 1758 does seem likely to be the wife of the man who wrote his Will on 11th July 1758 .

His Will refers to his late wife's silk gowns.

He may have been jolted into writing it by her death.
