Herbert's not a brother of William - he's the only child with his parents in 1871, 1881 and 1891.
Therefore he may not be part of William's household in 1921 - just living in Crowthorne.

Elizabeth's birth - mmn Parker as you thought:

The 5th person in the household may not be a Gooding.

This is the only other Gooding in Crowthorne in 1921. He's listed as living alone - though that may well be a mistranscription:

A lot depends on when they were married. Have you tried looking at www.freebmd.org.uk for possible births? You can access the 1921 census on Find My Past, although you do have to pay for the downloads but you can do a search.
If you think there are second marriages you can use the freebmd website to look for deaths and marriage as well as births.

William Edward (1872-1925) and Elizabeth (1889-1970), maiden name Searle.
I've found out so far that Elizabeth's father is Henry Searle (1857-1912) and Henry married Maria Parker (1856-1941) - I think that is correct?. As Elizabeth is Henry's daughter married to William Edward Gooding, what I'm trying to find out is how many children they had so that I can proceed with my research. I think there could have been at least two children but maybe three or more, and if so are they all siblings from the same marriage? Any guidance would be much appeciated. Doreima.
