I would be grateful if someone could look at the 1921 census and tell me where the following lived.
Robert nightingale, Elizabeth (wife), Florence (daughter) John Robert (son) and possibly Constance (daughter). I know they lived in Preston, Lancashire
Many thanks.

I’m sorry that I didn’t give all 5he information as I didn’t think it was necessary for the information needed.
Robert and Elizabeth were my grandparents and were married on the 5th June, 1909. Elizabeth’s maiden name was Anyon and Florence was my mother.

Thank you both for your replies. They were helpful.
Pat.

John Robert died in 1926 aged just 15. Do you know the tragic circumstances of his death?

PatW

PatW Report 30 Sep 2023 13:51

John Robert known to the family as Robert was cleaning his pushbike with cleaning fluid a few days before Christmas and accidentally drank some of the fluid thinking he was drinking water as it was in a similar container. He died on Christmas Day 1927 not 1926. I have his death certificate and the coroners report.

And the newspaper entry:

I apologise ArgyllGran as you are right with the date. I’ve had a look at the certificate and the 1926 was very badly hand written when I applied for a copy of the death certificate. It’s almost covered with a blob of ink so I’ve amended it in my records.
I haven’t got a copy of the death announcement which was in the newspaper at the time.
