Bronnley History The Founder James Bronnley, known to everyone as 'Jimmy', was just 19 when he founded the firm H. Bronnley and Company in 1883. He had just spent a year in Paris where he had seen and studied the process of soap making and milling. His imagination fired, he lost no time in setting up his own business in London. He leased a shed at 34, Verulam Street, Holborn, London. He borrowed E300 from friends. With this money he was able to buy secondhand machinery which included a baker's dough mixer. This particular mixer is still in efficient use by Bronnley today. What The Bronnley Company Does And What Products and Services Are Provide Bronnley of London, USA is a subsidiary of H. Bronnley & Co., England and holder of two Royal Warrants. In 1883 while in France to study the art of soap making, young Jimmy Bronnley stumbled across the secret of French marzipan and instantly realized the process could be used for soap manufacture. A moment of genius! In a modest shed in the London Suburbs, Jimmy applied this 'French process' to soap making and produced the world's first 'French Milled' (triple milled) fine soaps - and changed the worldwide soap making industry forever. Today, Bronnley remains the leading British soap and toiletries company famous for the abundance of natural almond oil, herb, flower and tree extracts blended into our soaps and toiletries. The magic of soap making demands skill, fantastically expensive materials and careful attention to detail. Essential oils made from plant extracts, super fatting- the addition of lovely avocado oil, and triple milling - which assures blended consistency - must combine to perfection to produce our soaps. Quality above everything is the cornerstone of Bronnley which is why we are 'Makers of the best soap in the world'.
