The Bag Report 28 Dec 2005 19:15

get in here girls, its warm and its cosy and totally snow proof ( well, nearly) we'll need some more wood tommorow but we have enough to keep us going until then . There is a bottle of lemonade over here, we could hare that later althought it must be special cornish lemonade because its blue and smells a bit odd.Still if were are really thirsty.... Shove that whale meat in the flower Pot, no Merry NOT that one its Plastic, try the terracotta one over there rub a bit of snow round it to get the dirt out and we'll be well away

Fantastic, Tina and Beryl.........Come in, and thanks for the provisions. Jess and I are staying here until Saturday as Jess has predicted a Mother-in-Law problem on New Years Eve, so she wants to arrive home on Sunday morning. I can give you a lift as far as Northampton if you like? Merry

Beryl Are you still here, Beryl? I say, we never thought about getting home again, did we? And now this icy blast is coming down from the north it's not going to blow us in the right direction either. Do you think the Royal Iris would pop down and pick us up? Once Thursday is over it should be safe for me to go home as I sincerely hope that batty sister-in-law will be leaving on Thursday - and I have to confess I am missing toasting my toesies by the open fire. I don't seem to have managed to get anywhere near the party bonfires we have had - elbowed out of the way by Merry, Jess and Bobbin every time! Merry, is there room in your cosy shed for another couple of people just until we have made our transport arrangements? We have some 10 year old whale steaks, and a large bag of green, sprouting potatoes which we are prepared to share. Tina

Right have found some bits and pieces that we can chop up and burn, lets get them on a fire and sit round all cozy~ I'd rather hear the crackle of the fire than the hum of a generator anyday. Right , what have we? assorted stick and twigs for kindling a couple of Old chairs~ one has a label underneath that says 'Chip..' so if its chipped it fine. an old table top that i have maanged to spinter into plank -like bits, shoved them in end first. They look like teak so should burn for ages. Manged to find a packet 0f BBF 2002 marshmallows - we can sit and toast them later

Found some boil-in-the-bag meals in the freezer.......I have brought the generator inside, so you can have your hairstraighteners in the warm and we can use the kettle to boil water and cook our dinners.......Lamb hotpot allright? Spent the last hour unpacking all the stuff we collected for the rescue mission...............ended up packing some items for our return journey.............never lknow when we might need a hacksaw and a balaclava. something warm in our tummies would probably be better, but hey ho Cornish Ice cream will do. There is an old metal dustbin over there, if we stand it in the corner, where that crack in the roof is) we can keep the place really cozy . I'll go and see what i can find that will burn.

Yes, It's Wednesday........ I have found a wonderful shed in the garden of the house that Crone says isn't her home. (Whose coats was she asleep under?? She never gave us the details) Anyway, the shed is soundproofed and therefore WARM and DRY and just the place to sleep until about Saturday morning when we will need to depart........... There's a chest freezer in here for food - hope you like icecream? Merry

Now I'm worried........I have just read this post on Maid Marion's Curiosity thread: ''Added by An Olde Crone Holden on 04/11/2005 00:57:28 I never used to be a cat - not very fond of them, more of a dog person. However, if pressed, I will admit that I once was Cat o' Nine tails. A look through the dictionary though, proves that I should really be Catatonia: A state of death-like inertia, interspersed with short periods of extreme violence. Olde Crone'' So, Olde Crone was/is suffering from Catatonia over C-mas. She has done the ''inertia'' phase, 24th-27th Dec....so now comes the.......Aaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Merry Report 28 Dec 2005 09:02

Jess, I have been looking at the General Board and see that you have very good reason not to arrive home until the morning of New Years Day................ Having read the weather forecast, I have lined the top roof box with two of Crone's best sheepskin rugs to help keep warm and have read that, though equiped with skis (excellent foresight on my part, though I say it myself) we ARE going to have to travel SLOWLY back in order not to suffer an accident............ I feel arrival at your home on Sunday moring might be just right? We must synchronise watches again as I understand an extra second is being added to 2005 (as if it hasn't been long enough already...................... Merry

Are we therrrrrre, yet? Beverley, stretching and yawning. Oy! Who pinched me pink cardy? Oh....message received, Merry. Glad O.C is safe and sound. But I've STILL got this problem about getting home. Can anyone offer a lift to a) Oz (preferably West Coast) or b) London, somewhere near Kangaroo Court. I didn't plan on an extended stay and I'm running low on size 18s

When your daughter thought the punch went down the plughole, that was us with a hose into the garden............. Didn't realise she had her feet in it at the time....................................... Merry

Merry

Merry Report 27 Dec 2005 23:24

So maybe you live the other side of the latrine trench?? But that house had decorations???? Re Map reading....that's what comes of using B****y Parloc, the sophisticated Family History parish plotting program.......it has moved Helston to somewhere near Truro!! Back to the AA book of the Road pour moi........ I DO NOT BELIEVE you have never owned brown/orange crimplene .....after all, Jess is wearing it (and very fetching she looks too).....ah, but you say we visited the wrong house? So you live in a neighbourhood where everyone wears crimplene and leaves a bath full of punch for all and sundry to wallow in over the festive period?? (will have to look for a property in your area if this is the case........) Jess......it must be the crimplene causing the rash....get back to your festive G-string this instant............ Merry

An Olde Crone

An Olde Crone Report 27 Dec 2005 22:11

Er...my wardrobe is quite in order. And, reading through the thread, well, the last page anyway...I don't have a Brownie Uniform. I do not have a pink crocheted bedjacket. I have NE VER repeat NEVER, worn, or even possessed anything made of Crimplene, let alone in orange. My daughter, who has been awake for the whole shebang, states firmly that no-one arrived - the Punch went down the plughole when she had a shower - there hasn't been a soul here except we two, for three days. Wonder whose house you were at, then? Oh, geographical point (don't let Merry do any map-reading on your way home) Helston is 11 miles from St Erth. St. Austell is 44 miles from St Erth.

Sorry Merry, I can't help the way I was brought up 'Leave things as you would like to find them' I did make such a mess looking in the wardrobe so I shall just put everything back as I found it. Beryl x

Hello Jess.......I have spent the last few mins removing the seats from thew top roof box and installing a comfy water bed.....(slosh, slosh), but apparently very soft for your poor swollen bits.......... If OC was under the coats all the time, then what happened to her daughter?? Merry
