Does anyone know what N.K. means when it is listed as a place of birth? Would you think it might mean Not Known??

thanks all. Bit sad isn't it

What year were they born if after 1837- if an unusual name combination you could search the GRO index.

Merry Report 27 Oct 2005 23:01

Might they be listed on several census returns?? Sometimes people remember once and forget the rest of the time! lol Merry

Not Known. Also have seen N.K. as a name of a baby presumed it ment new kid / not known as the child was only 3 wks old and was called Louisa later on.

Name is Walter W Polden Have on 1881 census as Baby Polden born 1881 in Winterbourne Stoke on 1891 census as being born ab 1882 and on 1901 as a lodger born ab 1882 N.K probably just a coincidence, not such an unusual name I suppose. Only just starting out on all this and am already totally confused !!
