Jill Report 23 May 2005 22:03

Hi Jess This is all very new to me! Im trying to trace information on my Grd-mother FLOSSIE ELIZA BARTLETT born on 30th June, we are not sure of the year but think around the late 1880's or early 1890's in KINGSBRIDGE, DEVON. Her mothers name we underdstand was BELLE, it thought that BELLE had been married twice & the names ATKINS & WRIGHT have cropped up. Belle is thought to have had two sister's ELSIE (DURE) & MABLE (CLYNE). FLOSSIE married my Grd-father LEONARD CHARLES BOOTY, they lived in the Goodmayes, Ilford & Romford area's. Please help i am pulling my hair out with this one!! Jill

Hi Jess If possible could you find me the marriage between Susan Leggit born Norfolk about 1830(thats on 1881 census) and James Shinn born Ashill Norfolk 1830 about. I would love to confirm as well James Shinn parents as William Shinn and Mary Ann Ripper ( from Family search) I checked on 1837 and couldn't find them for 1865 - 1869 which is when i believe their first child may have been born, Many Thanks Kirsty :)

Claire- I cant actually find it again.Where was their first childs birth registered?

The Bag

The Bag Report 23 May 2005 21:04

for jean Edward and Ellen Fowler (nee Driscoll) married in St. Stephens, Bermondsey in Oct. 1870. Both addresses shown as 18 Clarendon Street. Both shown as full age. Edward a costermonger (on later census a hawker as was Ellen). Edward Fowler born between July, 1844 and April, 1848 when he was baptised. (His parents did them in batches). *** Ellen Driscoll was born around 1846 Both in Southwark. I think they may have had 1/2 children by the time they married. Edward born about 1869 and John in 1870/1871.

**Claire* Report 23 May 2005 20:45

Well they had they had Thomas in 1852 i think their first child was born 1848c so i guess before then anytime between earliest 1841 and then unless they got married after they had children. If you dont want to look it up i will understand i know i am being a big pain in the backside today

Hi Jess Thank you for the Napier information. James was in the Royal Artillery so was perhaps at the barracks or away somewhere. The 1881 census on LDS site shows them at the same address thanks for finding that they were next door.I will have to look up Jackson Street maybe it was Army houses Thanks Deborah
