Mike Hello again - have put the transcribing on hold for a day - need to sort out some TOMKINS problems. I have a Joseph b1837, James b1839, Sarah Ann b1842 and Matilda b1845 all born to Thomas and Ann, my problem is, the only marriage details I can find for them was in 1851, is it possible that Thomas was previously married to a different Ann?. the 1851 marriage was to Ann RENNIE. Regards Jon ex Leicester

Mike, Many thanks for taking time out to look, The John holmes from newbold, has the wrong father, but is the only one I could find as well. Fanny, dont know if Mary Ann is her mother, but know her father is John Robinson, The henry robinson from whitwick Had a daughter called Fanny, but isnt 'My Fanny'(That one married a Wardle) Not a Holmes. And Yes you're quite correct the family DID move to Annesley, I do have details from '71-1901 census for these. Do you have any other Ideas as to how I can trace John And Fanny???? I just seem to be going around in circles, and getting VERY dispondant indeed, Have death certs, and Marriage cert, even first borns birth cert, but still dont know where to go from here with this brick wall. any Ideas gratefully recieved many thanks Julie

hiya there, I'm fairly new to this and am having problems locating, my ggparents, I wondered if someone could please help me?? John Holmes b. 1846, in either Newbold, Lount, leicester Married Fanny Robinson b. 1847 Melton Mowbray, Rutland, Leicester they married in 1867 @ Whitwick parish church 30/04/1867 All places of birth come from '71-1901 census, Johns fathers name is given as Thomas Holmes. Fannys Father is given as John Robinson. I cannot find any records of john and fanny living in whitwick area prior to marriage, they were living in church lane swannington, sept 1867. Cannot find a birth record for Fanny, (I have a b.cert but it doesnt give fathers name, and mothers maiden name is given as robinson, so am a bit dubious as to whether this is the cert i actually want) The b.cert I have for John Holmes born Newbold 1846 fathers name stated as edward, (not thomas as on marriage) am at a loss where to look now as he is only one listed as being born in newbold, in 1846, have trawled through 1837, but no luck am really sorry to waffle on but need to get down all info so not to waste anyones time looking for stuff i already got. please be patient with me, if anyone could help me find my ggparents it would be really fannylastic :) your hoping Julie
