Ey up Mike I can't stay away. Have tackled my Goadbys again today. Some time ago you were able to give me the following marriage and death entries: St. Margaret's Church Leicester. Entry No.122, DEC 22, 1867, after Banns JOSEPH GOADBY, 22, bach. RIVETER, of PINGLE St, s. of JOSEPH GOADBY, FWK ANN BODYCOTE, 19, sp. of WILLOW St, d. of CHARLES BODYCOTE, FWK Wits: THOMAS GOADBY, SARAH GOADBY. and Welford Road Cemetery :- Names. / Dates. / Age. / Last known address./ Parish Area. C = Consecrated Ground. N = Section. 175. = Plot No. C = Common Land. 19001. = Burial No. GOADBY JOSEPH 14 SEP 1877 32 PALMERSTON STREET SAINT MARGARET PARISH C N 175 C 19001 I have made considerable progress now and know that Ann Goadby had two further relationships after Joseph's death, to a Mr Smith, by whom she had a son Arthur born about 1882 and to a Mr Riley, by whom she had a daugher Annie born about 1886. In the 1891 and 1901 censuses she described herself as married and gives the names Smith and Riley respectively, but there is no sign of the husbands. I've looked at the 1837 site without any great success. Do you by any chance have marriage entries? In summary she was Goadby in 1871, Smith in 1891 and Riley in 1901. Can't find her at all under any name on the 1881. Cheers Mike Sheila

Mike, Beverley Thanks for your efforts. The Walnut Street entry is defiitely not mine - doesn't feel right and all the names are wrong. The other two are 'maybes' but at least I have something to start with. Still looking for William and Joseph Goadby aged 9 and 7. I'm also looking at my husband's family from time to time. His uncle's response - 'But his mother's done all that!' Had to explain to him that you never get finished. Cheers Sheila

Hi Mike! Could I ask for a lookup on your 51/61 records or deaths (1825-29) for a James Staniforth? I have one born 1825, and a military record for one who seems to have been born 1829 (discharged in 1849). Knowing my lot, its likely the older died and the next was named after him, but its possible it was the same one and they didn't know their ages. Of course, they were from Earl Shilton (this was before wheelbarrows made their way into the county!!) Thanks luvvie! Sarah Bev, have you moved on with the HINCKS yet?!
