Mary, sorry but I haven't checked in for a while. Your offer is very kind and I hope some people on here will make use of your genorosity. Unfortunately, I don't think the areas covered will help me, yet anyway! Hope the arthritis isn't slowing you down too much. Pam :-)

PAM - IN STOKE ON TRENT A week or so ago I offered to do some churchyard wanderings in our area, so I may have been the person you referred to. I live in DARTMOUTH, which is on the south coast of Devon just west of Torquay and Brixham. I mentioned various villages in the area and I'll recap: STOKE FLEMING and STRETE (just along the coast to the west) BLACKAWTON (just inland a bit) DITTISHAM, CORNWORTHY and ASHPRINGTON (villages along the River Dart going north-ish towards Totnes) I have to also repeat the fact that you wouldn't have to be impatient for info as I have arthritis and also I don't have use of the car very often. But as I said before, the spirit is willing even though the flesh is weak!! ; > )

I live in DARTMOUTH in South Devon, so if anybody has a name I see which is immediately familiar as being from round here, I'll let you know. I'm happy to wander round local churches and look in graveyards if required. Villages of: Kingswear, Stoke Fleming, Strete, Slapton, Stokenham, Dittisham, Blackawton, Cornworthy, Ashprington. However, I am slightly disabled and don't have the car available much of the time, so any search wouldn't be done in a hurry!! The spirit is VERY willing, but the flesh is somewhat weak at times!! Mary

Hi All Researching in Devon JOHN KNIGHT'S family - Although John was born Broadwinsor Dorset in 1857 he married SARAH PILTON who was registered in Axminster in1879 and they lived and had their family in Membury Devon. SARAH PILTON could also have been known as SARAH NEWBERRY and her father may have been ROBERT NEWBERRY. SARAH JANE'S birth certificate only gives her mother's name which was SARAH ANN PILTON.
