Lucy, You are fantastic! That was the right Simpson family. I found Charles G Simpson born 1833 on the Family Search site. I then did a batch search and found he had 2 brothers and a sister. It also named HIS parents. What a brilliant result. Shirley

Hi Lucy, Re Edward Ralph. It could well be him you've found because his mother was Jane and he had a sister Mary. But he married Catherine McVee in June 1887. Was he down as single or married? He could have just been visiting on the night of the census. Where were they living? When you have time, could you please look up Catherine Ralph in Liverpool or Everton and also William (John) Lindon age about 32, possibly in Liverpool but could be anywhere (he was a seaman). Hi Lucy Thank you for the Bradburn information. I know that Robert Currie Allan was a tailor and woul have been about 42. He does not always use the Currie. Charles Vaughan was about 59 and was a butcher. The only Catherine Ralph or similar I can find is Catherine Realph, boarder, mar, 24, Isle of Man Douglas who is lodging with Mary Pitt at 22 Compton Street, Everton.
