If you are trying to trace Scottish ancestors it is well worth trying www.scottishdocuments.com who hold wills up to 1875. The search is free and it only costs £5 to download - the quality is superb. This has helped me tremendously as the wills often mention all the offspring Hope this helps someone

Thank you Peter for reminding me about this site. Had a look briefly before but last night after seeing your thread I found my husband's GGrandfathers will. It was so exciting to actually read it and has given me a few names I never knew about before! Thank you once again Christine
