Got home last night to be told Tiddler had bitten her tongue, she showed me and side was all swollen up.

This morning it is all ulcerated and you can see where top and bottom set of teeth went in, she doesnt want to eat and says it hurts to drink.
Temperature has gone up and she is very sleepy.
Is carnival day here today and have promised her all week I would take her today to go on the fair. She woke up and was sick but still wanted to go. Didnt want to go on any of the rides and persuaded her to go on the hook a duck so she had something to say she had been.
On way back she was sick again and is now curled up on the sofa feeling not very well.

Had to take her out with felt pen all over her face a result of fun and games with brother yesterday as she wont let me touch her face to wash it off, have managed to get some of it off of her arms and legs.

Now is it the pen or ulcers thats making her sick and would the pen get into her system or just stay on her skin?

Dawnie, if as you say the tongue is swollen, then it has probably caused her gag reflext to go into overdrive, and this probably made her sick. It happened to my daughter.

Give her some ice to suck to reduce the swelling, and give nhs a call. It won't be the felt pen, in this day and age it would be illegal to sell poisonous ink in kids pens.

Try an ice lolly then. She needs it around the ulcer to cool it and reduce the swelling.

well the syringe and water didnt work she just cried and buried her face have a long science dropper thing so when shes alseep will use that and at the very least make her lips wet that will help a little.

She's upset thats all. Don't worry her further by making a big deal out of drinking something. She will in her own time. It's just sore for her thats all.

Will she rinse her mouth without actually drinking? That might help.
