I have a white streak in my hair and semi-permanent hair colourant covers it.
White hair (that has lost all the pigment and is in reality grey) does absorb colour. A para or permanent hair colourant may be needed to produce an even coverage.

Apparently it is possible but the lack of pigment in the hair means that it doesn't lock the dye in the same way as ordinary hair...this means that it may need to be left in longer, won't last as long and risks damaging the hair as the hair is very brittle. (Just what I gathered from pootling round google) Although to confuse issues there are different types of albinoism.

Pink
I asked myself the same question a few weeks ago and found the answer on line from an albinism site.

A mother talking about her daughter (re hair colourants) said the results may be unpredictable and temp dyes may not wash out. The problem being most hair dyes rely on base colour to achive the said colour (on the box) and without pigment in the hair it may come out completely different to what is described.
So yes dye works but it's unpredictable.
