Tents are great for a cheaper holiday. However I disagree with Mac, I wouldn't touch an argos tent with a barge pole. If you're gonna get a tent get a decent one. The last thing you want on holiday is a leaking or broken tent. And with the current summers we're having the wind an drain are the campers worst enemy.

Two things you should never skimp on is your tent and your sleeping bag.

And I agree with Mick, Canvas tents are better and will last for yrs if looked after properly, and my kids love their self inflating mats.

Hi Mac, was just asking about you a couple of hours earlier, nice to see you around but hope you haven't got up cos you aren't feeling well. Not long till you are off to Malta, eh? You lucky chap!

My son took to camping with cubs, and scouts and then friends, like a duck to water, which was just as well as he almost always ended up wet and muddy lol

Liz, they probably forgot where they left 'em LOL.

Tents are good for camping...not so good for going on a barge cruise though. ;-)

Apparently lots of people at the V festival in Chelmsford this last weekend, went home and left their tents behind. Any that are still usable are to be dismantled and passed on to charity, that's good isn't it?
Says something that so many people can just leave a perfectly good tent behind, must have more money than sense or are just too lazy to pack it up cos it is wet and muddly lol
Still if someone needier benefits, it isn't all bad!

Lizx who doesn't 'do' tents!

Great idea. Ours is about 15 yr old,so they keep lol.
Just pray for good weather.
Even if you use it for one holiday/weekend it has paid for it's self.
