I think they are a wild trefoil and I treat them like weeds. It may be tat once they were cultivated but they spread like wild flowers.

No such thing as weeds - just wild flowers!

Weed = a flower/plant growing in your garden that you dont want.

I'm with Ann of Glos. I cannot believe that I one bought a pot of the stuff from a garden centre!!! when we moved to this house the garden was covered in it!!!

I call it unspeakable names all the time and give it a dose of weedkiller - it's an absolute nuisance (although funnily enough, quite attractive) lol

like the others say Linda they are probably a weed...but some weeds are prettier than flowers so keep them or put some in a pot of basket to stop them spreading lol

Hello,

I think they may be an oxalis.
They are very pretty, but get everywhere,

I think they are oxalis too, I was given a lovely variety when at Heacham earlier this year. It is burgundy/purple and has big petals/leaves - like a large maroon clover leaf almost, they are doing really well in one of my pots. The smaller oxalis with the yellow flowers does spread but I just pull it up or cut it off when it gets too unmanageable. Also have lots of violas spreading everywhere but they are pretty too so again I just get rid of them when they get too much.
