Yvonne , my washing is still in the machine as it is trying to rain so guess it will dry indoors.
Got antibiotics at the dentists, but I was warned not to have any alcohol whilst taking them. Shame as we are away from Friday. Just as well I don't drink anyway then. !!! eh.

Good luck at the dentist Linda, I hate going to the dentist, I've got a checkup at the end of this month.

Rita, your sister was very lucky, I always worry that one of my trees will fall on the road............. especially with the strong winds we had yesterday.

Stephen, I could just do with that cup of coffee now, just got my lad off to the centre so I'm going to have a cuppa before I start doing whatever needs to be done.

Rita, my maternal nana used to call the dustbin men the midden men. She had an Irish mother and Scottish father so I don't know whether it was an Irish or Scottish saying.

I was working on my tree yesterday and found some of my German family (dad's side) in the 1911 census on Ancestry. Took me a while because I had to go through all the streets in the area to find them.

My paternal nana was one of 11 children and I found all but one of them in 1911, even 2 that moved down south. The one I couldn't find changed his name because he didn't want people to know he was from a German family. Don't think I'll ever find him because I don't know what he changed his name to.

Morning Stephen and everyone else who log on.

I have been up since 6.30 I woke and thought about the day ahead jobs that needed doing . then realised I had not changed the bed . so I could wash the sheets , so I go up made a cup of tea then changed the sheets and took the rubbish out I can hear the dustmen in the distance.

Stephen you need super glue for that wig. otherwise someone might take a gun to it thinking it is a pheasant and need something for his dinner.

My sister went out to buy her paper yesterday morning and noticed a tree in the next gardenh leaning. she came back sat down to read and have a cup of tea heard a crack and the tree had come down in the next doors front garden. she said the workmen came right away and were sawing it up as no one could drive up the road or walk on the pavement, I dont think it dawned on her she could have been under that.

well have to finish my packing today, ready for tomorrow.

I had some bridge work done about four years ago.....rather expensive.....

evening all hope you get on well at the dentist. I dont go back till next March either unless I have an urgency.

We have had rain as well all day it just fell down I think parts of the USA would have welcomed it but I didnt. I looked out the window and Linda I could see the drains where having trouble coping with it. I have noticed one thing when they build all these homes and blocks of flats it is harder for the drains to cope.
I did not go out today. if it is like this tomorrow I will not go out again either.
my sister comes tomorrow late afternoon to stay over my daughter and her husband collect us thursday at 11. 30 to go to Dorset. I hope it is not raining I dont like driving in the rain you cannot see out of the windows.
I have no idea what to do for our dinner.

It's a tooth that has been crowned and repared over the last 30 years, so the best thing with my new dentist is to take it out I am sure.

I have an emergency dental appointment tomorrow morning. Hot gums and aching jaw, think I might have an abcess where I am having the remains of a tooth taken out in October. Ouch !!

We have also arranged to go and see a local gym together for our retirement project of getting a bit fitter LOL. Not much chance of us loosing much weight as that doesn't seem to work.

Back from West London. It was very wet and still is here in Berkshire. Don't think any drains coped very well with the obvious downpours. Ugh really nasty out.

Well my parents are OK though slowing down noticably and Mum's memory is really bad. My niece also popped in as she is off work this week before starting a new job on Monday. Mum didn't know who my niece's parents were? Shame really as she was always on the ball. She seemed Ok with us, and we haven't been there since March, oh we saw them both in hospital in June, there I nearly forgot too !!
We had Fish & Chips for lunch, but I won't need anything else today the chip portion was huge. I shared one bag between 3 and a few left for hubby too. Good job we only ordered 2 servings between all 4 of us.

Off to do some knitting now

Rita, I think I would get annoyed getting all the requests from all the folk to sign this, sign that. BUT, if you're at home and as long as it's not too inconvenient I'm sure the tradesfolk really appreciate what you do. It's certainly very commendable.

Morning even if it is nearly lunch time I have been doing my little jobs, recharged my mobile and now the camera. I have t sort out what I am going to take with me on Thursday.

I didnt have a problem getting on this thread makes a change someone told me we are having this trouble due to the amount of numbers on the thread. but not sure if that is right.? I didnt get a reply after I emailed GR and asked why we were getting this problem.?

Stephen I think it is my mind when people say things I take it a different ways.If Babs had said Les put his name down in the laundry book to use the tumble dryer it would not have been so funny. but to say he wanted a tumble that had me in stitches..

But I blew my top this morning. being in the next flat I get all the door rings. for our Estate Manager.
First would I sign the form to say the window cleaners had been and done the window otherwise they would not get paid.( not suprised the rain was so heavy I am surprised he could hold the hose up to the windows.) I signed cannot let him go without being paid. .all this because our Estate Manager is at a regular monthly meeting. she works 19 hours a week. Now the gardners have arrived and once again I have had to deal with this.they have been trimming the hedges in the pouring rain.
next the postman asked would I sign for her parcel. I did
then someone asked could I open the laundryroom door one of the contractors needed to use the loo.which is in the laundryroom.


I think I should be living here without having to pay maintainence every month

My friend from across the lawn came and said dont do it. but I feel guilty if I dont. does she every help me NO.

My soap box again is now empty if someone wants to use it.

note this afternoon I thought I would sit and watch a film made in 1943 " The Gentle Sex " have seen it many times before, only it has been on so many times I had the remote full up and still you could not hear them speaking . when the adverts came on I had to turn the remote right down. I dont know what they will do when the mouths dont work .

Wet and horrible here too.
Hubby is now off for 2 weeks, so retirement is coming round quickly.
Not sure what I will do today. Did the ironing yesterday. Can't get washing out today so I won't bother.
Met with friends for tea and a chat yesterday afternoon and saw one ladie's daughter who I haven't seen for possibly 15 years!!
