Fiona, how on earth did you find this thread?

I love this book as I have said earlier, and would read it again in a year or so. It was moving and interesting to know how lepers coped and how they were dealt with, and as I have been to Kefalonia twice so know what Greek islands are like, it was all the more interesting, imagining it happening there for example.

Yes I read this book too. Picked it up second hand in 'Jumunjy', a bar on an small Island called Koh Phangan, in Thailand. As I was on an Island I thought it was quite appropriate! Great book, kept me busy for hours whilst I sat on our balcony in the Jungle. Such a great insight into the life of people with Leprosy. I had heard of Leper colonies, but never really thought about it that much and this book really brought it home as to how it was from a personal view. Fiona

Ros, I read it last year or the year before and mentioned it on here, recommending it as a fascinating book, and it's been read by the gr readers I think too.

It's a book I will read again, as I loved the story. I didn't realise the author was married to Ian Hislop. He was born in the Mumbles in Wales, somewhere I have visited.
