A's Grandmother was a boatie, she was born on a boat lived and worked most her life on a boat and when she married became a landie! I know very little of their lives except they lived and worked the canals of the Midlands and that they hailed from Wales and Leicestershire ~ has anyone else got boaties in their tree? |

I have been going through my bargemen and they didn't live on the boats, just used to transport goods via the canal system. |

Oh Mac................that sounds wonderful, I don't like the sea (too wavy ) but would love to go on the old canals or rivers.......as long as the water is flat:)) |

No thanks Mel, I doubt if we are related as although my BIL and SIL live in the midlands, both are london born before they lived on the canals of the midlands.. |
