Dear All

I am taking part in Race for Life for the first time ever this year at Temple Newsam in Leeds on Sunday 5th July @ 2.30 pm.
I am taking part in Race for Life to support my Cousin in Law Chris Deighton who is currently fighting cancer and in memory of a school friend who recently lost her life fighting cancer. I will be partaking in the race with my cousins Emma, Adele and Kathryn and Chris's daughter Emma.
The shock of my school friend dying this weekend after a 6 month battle with cancer has spurred me on to do something in her memory she was only 28 and leaves behind her husband of only 2 months and 2 young beautiful daughters.

I know we are all getting fundraising pushed in our faces at the moment and in these times of tightening our purses it is harder for people to donate anything but i would like to appeal to you (as a long standing member of GR) to donate what you can to Cancer Research UK.

Alaina you will have so much fun and will no doubt go through a variety of emotions too as you go round reading everybodies banners etc.

This year will be the third year I will have done Race for Life with friends and colleagues at Knowlsey Hall - a fabulous back drop for a worthy cause - and I am soooo looking forward to it. Best wishes to you with your race and your fund raising. We're planning to go all cerise and brightly coloured this year, out will come the leggings and slouch socks and maybe even a tutu! Oh perish the thought!

Good luck Alaina and Lyn, I'll be doing the 10K Race for Life at Epsom Downs on sunday 28th June.
I did a Race for Life last October, and also the Moonwalk last May, and the atmosphere at both was great, really supportive, and I'll know we'll all have a great time and hopefully get a little bit fitter !

My grand daughter did it in Caernarvon yesterday in memory of her dad and managed to raise £500 so very proud of her!
