I regularly buy several 'local' newspapers, relevant to the areas of my research. I mainly look at the nostalgia pages, history and BMDs. I even found a photo showing my Mother in a village view, pre-1910 once.

Today in the Sleaford Standard, amongst the usual wedding anniversaries for silver or golden congratulations is one for 300 years!

"The 300th Wedding Anniversary of Nathaniel and Zebennel (nee Jolion) Sharp, married on 11th April 1709 at The Parish Church, Leasingham."

Quite amazing!

Yes quite amazing, I wonder who put that in? A descendant who had been researching like us on GR.

Mo,

I suspect it must be a family historian - I can't image anyone else having such a marriage date to hand.

I shall have a trawl through the names on here, when I have a moment, and see if I can track them down!

Just thought it was worth a mention - it's not something I have ever thought to do.
