Both my kids have been ill with it since Sunday . Took them to the walk in center Tuesday & sat there 2 and a bit hours which diddnt help :o(((

They both have had a seal like cough (well it sounds like it sometimes) sore throat, temperature, aching all over, tiredness. In my daughters case added to this, yesterday she came out with all I can describe as a viral rash. Small itchy spots looking like her skin was pinky.(not a worrying rash i may add)

Looks like the fever stage is over now but the sore throats & coughs remain, plus the general feeling of being unwell & off their grub :o(
Thank god for the tv, DVD, xbox & PlayStation as they have been rooted to all these even more than normal as they are not well enough to go out.

I feel so flaming fed up, not feeling 100% myself but I feel so sorry for them. They rarely are ill at the same time, with the same thing, so I know this is a nasty whatnot they have.

Now I know this is blooming flu (what do I expect) but just to remind vulnerable people with underlying conditions to get checked out if you get any of those symptoms & start to feel really poorly.or at least contact a family member to let them know you are poorly. Thankfully my two diddnt need antibiotics (at this stage anyhow) but some people with underlying conditions may be given them as a precaution if the symptoms are viral but severe (that came from the Doc at the walk in center)

Keep happy & healthy folks & thanks in advance for the flowers & huge box of chocs you lovely people are going to send to me

Only joking folks :o)))

xx

Sorry to hear about your kids Mildred. Mine both had a really awful cold two weeks ago and time off school it was that bad. My daughter is still coughing like a seal (good description). Then the week after I went down with it and still don't feel at all right.
Now hubby has it so obviously he will get it worse than any of us!

Can only duplicate what has already been said.

I had this Flu type virus just after Christmas; it seems to mutate attacking everyone slightly differently. I developed a chest infection that has left me in need of asthmatic puffers, so take care & if in doubt about coughs, do get them checked out with your GP.
I hope your children are soon back to full health & able to enjoy a bit of their Easter Break from school.

It is miserable isn't it:(

My husband had it...........he is a very uncomplaining type thank goodness........and it has made his asthma a lot worse, 6 weeks on it is slowly improving.

I hope you and the little ones get well very soon.

I hope you and the children feel better soon, Elaine. Spring and autumn are the worst for these viruses. Take care.

i had it at Xmas.went to the doctors"doc I've got the flu" 2do you smoke"
"yes"
"you've just got a cold"
I'm 68 and that means if that was a cold I've never had one before because i had never had anything as bad as that before only just got rid of it
if i cut my finger they say it was because i got smoke in my eyes and couldn't see what i was cutting
