Did you know that Cumberland is now available on the 1911? I think all counties are now.

Have found my step grandmother and been able to sort out her background a bit:))

The complete counties of Northumberland, Cumberland and Westmorland, which comprise 443,204 new records, are now live on 1911census.co.uk. In addition, the Gateshead data, which comprises 84,195 new records, has now been added to Durham. This means that the whole of England is now online and searchable.

The Welsh counties will be added soon.

I think either some of Cheshire has not been complete yet or it may of been lost or ruined...I have spent a fortune on the 1911 census searching for my Granddad and his brother

Thanks Joy - I'll sit on me hands till Wales is on. I could be so tempted to spend a fortune on obscure rellies in the English Counties but I'll save me pennies until Wales is issued.

Could it be that they were out visiting on census night Hayley?

I found my 'lost' Grandparents as visitors,..only because they were at other actors' home for the night in question.Hope you find them soon :O)

Perhaps an advanced search of variant names?

One of mine has been mistranscribed,,but image is clear to see its not what they have put,!!

I bet a few pockets will be lighter now.....:}}}}}}
