Hello Kitty,

Yes we feel very lucky indeed. I'm sorry the same outcome wasnt for you dad. I expected more to happen on arrival to A + E, but at least we have the results today. Only his right arm and leg was affected and as it happened when he was asleep those adverts were not any good to us either.

My dad had a minor stroke,he was moved to another cottage type hospital four days later for rehabilitation where he had another stroke which they didn't notice.

When we went to visit he was incoherent but nobody had noticed.

He was very lucky then Anne.............I hope he has a very swift and full recovery.

I get so mad at that advert about the warning signs for a stroke......Dad had one early one morning and went by ambulance straight to hospital, nothing was done until early evening when he had a brain scan.

He died 3 weeks later

Why don't they do a scan as a priority?

On 29th march my OH had what we thought was a TIA, he went to the A and E dept and was sent to the out of hrs dr. Not alot happened there and he was told to go back to his gp the following day. Own Gp started OH on tablets as he thought it was a TIA . Today we went for tests at hospital and were given the results and OH has had a full stroke. This has shocked me but feel as if OH have come out in good shape. Still dragging the right leg a bit. writing is difficult too. He is tired alot but I am pleased knowing what it could of been like if it had been any worse.
We had excellant service too at the hospital with all the tests done and the results in the same afternoon.
