I've just looked out of my window and seen the Moon .
it is full tonight but for some reason it looks almost orange.
Is it just me or do we all have a big orange moon to look at ??

I've just had another peep and it looks normal coloured now but it still looks a bit bigger than usual.

Shame you couldn't see it Treehunter , I must be lucky to have no cloud here tonight .

You know the amazing thing? Here I am on the other side of the world and an hour ago I was looking at the same moon.

That's profound Sue : )

I often think , when looking at the moon , thats it's been there shining down on all my ancestors over the years . The constancy of it is a great comfort at times : )

I feel the same way about the sea and ancient oaks...........what tales they could tell if only we could communicate with them.

By the way it's raining now, so no moon and a very short damp walk:(

I remember on a trip to the UK we visited Ann Hathaway's cottage near Stratford and my husband was talking to a guide. He mentioned that the stone floor was well worn and said how so many pairs of feet over so many years had worn the floor. The guide said to him "now your feet have worn a little more". That has stuck with my husband and he still mentions it on occasion.

I must admit history bored me to tears in school, only since beginning family history have I really been interested in the past.

I am incredibly lucky to live so near to my ancestors roots, we live in the same village both sets of my husbands ancestors lived for generations.

Although I was born in England I came to Australia when I was little. I grew up hearing stories but didn't feel any real tie to England until I made my first trip back. When I saw my gran's house and the house we lived in with my grandfather I felt such a connection and now England keeps pulling me back. We've been back 3 times and I'd love to go over and stay for 6 months. I'd miss the grandchildren so much though.

My one surviving paternal Auntie lives in Canada..........she was a war bride and I sent her pictures of the bluelbells in the local woods as she remembers them.

Thinking of the moon reminds me of a few years ago when there was an eclipse; we had a long thread on here about it.

There were people from different parts of the world posting when they could see it.
