Son home from Uni with his girlfriend. It is his first girlfriend and I just met her today.I just made up his double bed and didn't ask if she wanted the spare one!!.It does feel a bit weird .My boy has grown up!!!!!!!
Can just picture my mum if I had wanted my boyfriend to share my bed at home!My son is 23. Have you had the same experience?

Aw blimey !!! What a moment lol.

I was allowed to stay at OH's house before we *shacked up* but never in a million years would he have been allowed to stay in my room .....Victorian upbringing I had at times .pmsl.

His Dad wasn't altogether happy about it......even though we got on great....... but his mum was cool lol. Subsequently went on to have a fantasic MIL DIL relationship with her.....

Good for you !!! I don't know which way I'll jump when the time comes ....but you know your boy and it didn't do me and OH any harm xx

Oh Helen, I had to laugh when I read your post, and will tell you about my middle son....

I went into his bedroom one Sunday morning and was chatting to him and then went downstairs to make breakfast........then Mike came down and said there was a girl in the bathroom, and as my only daughter had left home it wasn't one of her mates......

Then my son came down, followed by this girl, who had slept over, and I hadn't even noticed she had been in the bed!!.........I was so embarrassed I didn't know what to say.......so I left them to it.......and tried to remember what I had said to him whilst I was in his bedroom......

The other one was when my daughter and her boyfriend stayed with Mum and Dad in Cornwall, and they quite happily made up their spare double bed for them.......and when I questioned that, my Dad said that is what was done now..........and I said......what would you have said if I had asked if Mike could sleep with me before we married.........and he said.......oh that was in the "old days"......lol....

When my son, who is in the army, came home for a family do he brought his girlfriend down with him. I was in the kitchen and he asked me if I minded them "sharing". I looked at him - all grown up (24) - and said it was ok. It was his sister that got annoyed because I wouldn't let her boyfriend stay in her room when she was living at home but I needed to be eased into it:))
