Re public holidays. Has WW3 been declaired or a famine predicted. Just went as usual to do my Friday weekly shop at Morrissons, and boy oh boy. The car park was unusually full for starters and OH, who has a large car and has to be careful where parking, had to keep going round and round until a space appeared. This is going to be fun in here today I thought. The place was full of husbands, who would not normally be there any other week. Husbands who think it is correct to stand with the trolly in the middle of the isle, and not move for anyone. They obviously do not know the protocol, which is to keep moving, to avoid irrate tempers. Whilst I am getting all the bits and pieces, OH goes off to get kitchen roll, toilet roll, pet food, etc, thus helping with the flow of 'traffic'. |

Julia, I was supposed to go to Tesco's abt an hour ago, for a few bits. It does seem people go abit OTT when it is a bank holiday do they not. I remember years back when there was a sugar shortage (or was it a rumour??) and people were buying up mountains of the flamin stuff. |

lol - the shelves in our local supermarket are emptying so fast you must be right about WW3 ........................ someone had best tell the shoppers that they don't need to buy four loaves and freeze three of them - the shops will be open again !! |

It may be the husbands (who don't usually shop) putting the extra stuff in the cart :-) |

I have to confess that my OH is about to go shopping - cos once that and the other chore-ish things are done, we can chill out and give ourselves over to eating drinking and making merry for a few days:) |

I went to Tesco last night, just to get the usual stuff, but OH wanted some more beer. There wasn't a single pack of beer left in the place. They said that they were going to bring in a delivery over night. |

My husband goes off to read the papers or to another shop when I am in the supermarket. I feel a bit sorry for them when it comes to shopping, and wondered if a "husband creche" to leave them in would be possible. |
