Dee, our local Co-op is being closed down soon, all the stores within it, like chiropodist, etc have been given notice, the grocery section went a long while ago. I will miss the store, have bought so much over the years from there, was where I got my school uniform, my first (and only) suede coat (with a Provident cheque) and many items since, will be so odd not to have it there right at the top of St Stephen's Street! Two cafeterias/coffee shops too that people used to meet at, a Carpetright, QS had not long started an area there, and a hairdressers too I think it was still there. I know lots of the staff and feel sad for them.

We have several grocery Co-ops that I use around the outskirts as I pass in the car but not the same as the store.

I had a special chocolate dessert made for me by o.h. but he was disappointed it didn't turn out as well as he expected, I think he didn't use large enough eggs, the recipe was in the Somerfield magazine. I think he made some chocolates too, using that really good high cocao content chocolate so will see in the morning. I got told off for putting something away in the fridge when I got home, spotted them then but said I hadn't noticed anything lol! I quite liked the dessert and there's lots more for later on. I will never lose weight, will I?

Now we're in an economic climate where we need a chain of shops like Woolies - it's gone!

If I couldn't find something, I could always get it at Woolies or the Coop

Yes my son said to me the other day, Oh can get that at woolies, I said that be bloody hard,

He felt very silly, but i said ithink everyone still said that. Will do for years

What are we going to do without Woolies? Where will we buy Pick & Mix, where will we buy Dylon?

Well I haven't got an egg (i'm lactose intolerant, so I can't have chocolate) but this year I've found a box of chocolates in Sainsburys that don't contain milk. I can't wait! I haven't had any chocolate for about 5 years! Well tomorrow
