Good job they dont have 5+children anymore then like our ancestors did,

I thought children in families has been reduced since the Pill.and people deciding just how many to have.

They bleat on about that but just as many die by various ways so it sort of even stevens it.

I totally agree with you there Mac .

Mankind in his infinite wisdom has chosen to push and bend the ability of nature to produce to the extreme . Hogging all the land and water , over producing and pushing nature to the edge.........nature is bound to kick back sooner or later.

A lot of people have been taking the Green parties to task because the largest cause of so called Global Warming is due to the large human population which as it is now there being more people living now than the totality of the human population over the last two thousand years.

It's a global issue.

This is generally more of a problem in the 'developing' world, although the 'developed' nations consume disproportionately more resources. Perhaps the Pope could at least make some contribution by advocating the use of condoms.

I suppose the only way of doing it would be incentives to have less children.........more family support for less kids .........or something.....?

I suppose so Foggy........I guess famine or disease is the worst danger........though I'm usually one for thinking leave it ......mother nature will sort it as a rule............

The way things are going, there just might be a world war,....that will cut the population growth.

The world is getting rather full I guess. But where would you start with getting people to stop having too many children? In Britain aren't we an aging population anyway with more and more older people than children being born? So what impact would it have if this country slowed down population growth?

The broadcaster Sir David Attenborough has become a patron of a group seeking to cut the growth in human population.

On joining the Optimum Population Trust, Sir David said growth in human numbers was "frightening".

Sir David has been increasingly vocal about the need to reduce the number of people on Earth to protect wildlife.

The Trust, which accuses governments and green groups of observing a taboo on the topic, say they are delighted to have Sir David as a patron.

Not sure what I think tbh.........and........Maybe I'm being naive but short of doing what China do with the one child rule.......which I HATE the idea of .......however would it work? xx
