its a joint passport that said they were married but i cant find any records of it |

We were recently told by the Passport Office that if a married woman was included on her husband's passport, - as was often the case,ie. joint passports, then a marriage certificate would have to have been shown. |

You may need to ask was the name spelt correctly on the marriage index? where they married in another area/country? Were they married earlier than you thought? |

ive been checking online and at the birmingham library both surnames, but no luck. anymore ideas on how to find a marriage cert if it happened from about 1940 |

walter else sedgwick(b1910) and constance nellie woodcock(b1916) married in the birmingham area i think, thanks |

The GRO index in Ancestry's complete database shows Sedgwick-Woodcock births in Birmingham in jan-mar quarter 1939 (i.e. possibly in late 1938) and apr-jun quarter 1942. |
