Just found out that an old contact who helped me with a branch of my tree when I first started out has tragically died along with his wife.

I hadn't been in touch for years but can remember what a gentleman he was. Just been reading about his life, it seems that they were loved very much.

So sad. I'm surprised at how much it has affected me.

That's very sad. It's surprising how we can feel about people we might not know well but have been lucky enough to have contact with in the past.

May he and his wife rest in peace.

As they say, a stranger is a friend you haven't met.
You'd been in contact with this person and he and his wife were obviously well loved for a reason.
Be glad you knew him, even as a 'contact' ((hugs))
