I think people used to spring clean at the end of winter when we had coal fires. The smoke and soot from the fire would make curtains and everything grubby so when it was warm enough to stop having a fire everything was washed ad paintwork washed down etc. It is not so necessary now.

Noooooooooo! .....Have said before ,a quick flick with a duster ,a whizz with the hoover and a wipe with a damp cloth ...That is my spring clean lol

Think you've got something wrong there Mel, it is usually the woman who instigates spring cleaning (if that is their wont) and the man who tries to avoid it!!

why oh why doe's everybody think cleaning is a womans job women will tell you men are bone idle.
I only work 6 to 12, Mrs igor (the irish trollop) works full time , so i clean, dust, hoover, cook, no big deal.
So at weekends we pack the car up and go and watch Everton a ritual we all enjoy
