Mo in Kent Report 21 Oct 2013 19:22

Hello my little crafting friends, it's good to hear how you do your cards. Give me a bit of sticky black plastic, and I am happy for hours on end. Or come to that fuzzy felt, with lilly is a lovely pastime, and she does enjoy it, now she knows it's not for eating. But getting her to draw within the lines on our colouring book, is a no no.

Talking of christmas presents, we have got to go to Ar*os tomorrow. At long last our grandaughter has decided what she would like for baby Zoey..she has even gone to the trouble of telling us the catalogue number, just in case us silly old duffers get the wrong thing. LOL

I have got one card in this mornings post, but Roly has hidden it so that I can't open it till tomorrow, so it will be a lovely surprise for me.
We are going out for a meal tomorrow evening, just the two of us, and then on Saturday we are out for a meal with the family, with most people working during the week, the weekends are best for everyone.

Shush, don't tell Jean, but we have got darts tonight, I hope she hasn't placed her bet just yet, just in case we lose, I would hate for her to lose her pennies again.
Bye for now my lovely friends, take care, hugs Mo xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone

the weather is miserable here ..................... we've had fog all day every day since last Friday.

It might lift early this afternoon, and we MIGHT see some sun.

Sallie ................... there's no worries about this patch on OH's ear getting worse. A basal cell carcinoma is in the very outer layers of the skin, and scraping it off gets it all. Otherwise, the dermatologist himself would have contacted OH, and if not, the GP would have sent OH back to him or the Cancer Agency pronto.

Ann will tell you the same thing.

We just need to get it to scab over and heal!

Mo ........................ just in case I don't get back

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TOMORROW
xxxx

I hope you have a lovely day.

take care everyone

Ann, more often than not it's a blinking nuisance trying to buy shoes..... just wish I was a size 4 at least, then I don't think I would have any problems. Each time I ask for a 3, the usual response is ' no sorry, we have a size 4,if that's any good' lol!! I would be able to walk out of them. Another problem is that I don't have a very wide foot, and even if there is a 3 it is mostly a wide fitting.
Still I mustn't complain, one of my cousin's only takes a size 2....if she finds her size she will usually buy two pairs at the same time.

Mo, I've posted your card, so hope you will get it tomorrow morning. Both you and Roly enjoy your meal out tomorrow evening.
Good luck with the darts match tonight, hope you and your team will win.

Sylvia, thank you for the information. I am a 'born worrier' that's my trouble and won't relax until Alun has seen our doctor on the 28th of the month.

Jean. I have treated myself to the eBosser, didn't really want to get one as I like and am happy with the GC, but if I use it for a good while I have problems with my right shoulder. I sent for it early hours of Friday morning and it arrived at eight o clock on Saturday morning......didn't expect it until at least Monday.
I haven't used it yet, I don't seem to have had the time.lol!! I'm going to try it after I have finished posting on here....just hope it will be okay.lol!!

Like you, I mostly use the gel glue now and use a tooth pick to put on the smaller and most delicate pieces.

Alun is on holiday this week, so we are going down to Richard's on Thursday. We are only going for the day as Jennie fancied the day out but doesn't want to stay, so she is going to do half of the driving. I just hope that the weather won't be too bad.

Mo, I almost forgot, congratulations to both you and Roly on going to become grandparents again.

It's a while since we heard from Huia, I hope she is alright.

Well, I'm going to try the new machine now, so will speak to you all tomorrow, especially to the Birthday Girl.

Take care.

Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie.xxx

Hello all. I have been reading the thread but not commenting. I have just felt so sleepy over the past few weeks.

The tooth I had out about 3 weeks ago has left me with aching sinuses but I hope they will settle down soon. It was a top back tooth and it had 3 roots which were very close to the sinus cavity. Now that those roots are gone I think my hearing is slightly better in the ear on that side!

I am going to town today to do a little shopping, and pay bills and relicence my vehicle. Tomorrow I will visit Phil and on Thursday I am going to Hamilton to see my 2 gt grandsons again, taking the other gt grandmother with me.

I think I will have a nap on the settee before I go anywhere as I didn't sleep so well last night. :-\ That is a sleepy look.

Happy birthday Mo, have a lovely day and a nice meal this evening. Hope it is not as wet there as it is here.

Sallie hope you enjoy the Ebosser. Let us know how you get on.
I too wish I took a size 4, my Mum did but she was smaller than me. I was lucky 2 weeks ago, went to the M&S outlet and got a pair of 5½ ankle boots in footglove for £35 instead of fifty something but normally my size is missing from sale shelves. I have a wide foot.
Enjoy your day at Richard's.

Huia, sorry you are feeling sleepy, have you been to the Doc, doesn't seem normal for you. Hope the sinus clears soon too.

Good morning Jean~~~~~~ :-) :-) <3

Coooeee my lovely friends. Thank you all so much for the beautiful cards, I am such a lucky person having so many clever friends who are capable of doing such fantastic, clever things.
I am so grateful to you all, for your kind wishes for my birthday as well.
It has been a lovely day, topped of by a great meal this evening. The weather has not been very kind though, I didn't think we could have the quantity of rain we have had, over the last couple of weeks.
I have been spoilt rotten by the family, so many flowers, pyjamas, slippers, and bath and body products.
Fortunately the family had the sense not to buy me any chocolates, or I would have only have had to eat them wouldn't I, I couldn't have had them going out of date now could I. lol ;-) ;-) ;-)

Jean, you would have been proud of me last night honey. Despite the fact that we drew, I got the three finishes, to allow us the draw, AND, I was top average yippee.
We did win the pairs though, so if you placed your bet, you should be able to get some money back, even if it is only a couple of pounds....so the drinks are on you my big friend, as you look down, I look up to you. :-D :-D :-D

Sending my love to each and everyone of you, Mo xxx

Mo, so pleased that you have had a wonderful day with lots of pressies and cards.....and a lovely meal out this evening. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Jean, yes I tried out my new toy this evening........not too bad, I think it's a case of getting use to it.lol!!

Not sure about the magnetic shim though, it slips even though I use low tack masking tape.......not sure if it's the shim or the waxed paper that's causing it to slip.
Do you have any ideas on how I can get around it, pretty please?

Ann, I looked in the M&S outlet on Sunday, but the shoes that I liked started at size 5.... .I'm sure I will get some soon.lol!!

Going to have a nice hot drink now and then it's off to bed.

Speak to you all tomorrow.

Morning friends, pouring down here , still not a lot we can do about it...

Sallie, I put the magnetic shim on top of the card with the dies face up underneath, if your dies move about, put them on the card face down stick them down then turn the card over and put the shim on then your A plate, there is a tutorial on you tube showing how to do it..... with thicker dies you just need the A plate, but do use the waved paper ;-) ;-) ;-) I have a pic of my last card with the new dies I will send it to you and Ann soon as I can...sorry Ann this should really be on the hobbies board, but I have no Idea how to cut and paste so here it is....

Good morning Jean, I shall cut and paste it for you. showery here this morning with a glimmer of sun but not forecast to last. We will be off out soon, exciting times, have to get a new cleaner and then visit B&Q. I told you it was exciting.

Yesterday we had a man to measure up for hall, stairs and landing and main bedroom carpets. waiting for the estimate now!!

JustJean

JustJean Report 23 Oct 2013 10:14

Thanks Ann, we bought a new cleaner its a Henry and its great my Gtech packed in so we got a lightweight plug in vac for everyday use and love it .

we also are thinking of getting someone to redecorate the lounge and probably get the carpet and suite cleaned later, every thing looks dull but the thoughts of doing it yuk.....we also need a new covering in the kitchen, we had a leak and the covering soaked all the water up so had to go to the tip. does it never end :-| :-| :-|

lousy day here again, but forecast for tomorrow looks brighter so we will have lunch out I think , ....no we wont, my eye appointment is 1.50pm and we waited two hours last time I went . just hoping the cataracts are behaving themselves....

good luck with the buying have you any special colour in mind?

see you later.. love jean xx

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 23 Oct 2013 21:17

Hello my lovelies.
Talking of B+Q's Ann, we went there today, being Wednesday and pensioners saving day, we went to look for a fire for our lounge.
When we had the radiators done last week, we had our gas fire capped off, and decided we would like a flame electric fire instead.
Just have a look said our Roly....well we ended up by buying one, and saved ourselves £16.00.
Now all I have to do, is wait patiently for Roly to fit it, remembering that we bought the bedside cabinets when I was still at work, back in 2008, that are still sitting in the garden shed lol.

I have had two lots of very bad news today. Firstly my dear friend Florence has been told that the growth in her nose, is definately Cancer.
They have said that she could have radio-therapy, but that it probably wouldn't work.
So she has to go into East Grinstead hospital, for it's removal, and plastic surgery on her nose.
I know what a wonderful hospital East Grinstead is, with all the work they did on WW2 troops, after being badly injured by burns etc, but it's still such a worry.
And to top it all, her husband has still not returned from Dubai, and wont be coming until she has the actual operation.
I feel so sad for her and her son, who broke down today, when he had to explain to his father what was truly wrong with his mother. His father told him to grow up and be a man. For goodness sake, this lad has been his mothers support all through this, and had a right to be upset when trying to explain things.

Then we had a phone call, to tell us that another dear friend has only days to live.
We went straight to the hospital, to see her and her daughters, and I am hoping that she makes it through to Friday, when, god willing I will see her again, as it's the day I have to see the specialist myself re my cyst.

I am sorry girls, I shouldn't load my worries onto you, but it helps to get it off my chest, but I promise to be more cheerful tomorrow.
I will also tell you if the fire has been taken out of it's packaging, and if there is any progress in it's being installed. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Night Night god bless, love and hugs, Mo xxx

Sallie Report 23 Oct 2013 22:29

Oh Mo, how awful for your friend Florence, I hope and pray that the operation and treatment will go well for her. Feel sorry for her son, bless him for all the support he has given his mum and then for his dad to be so unfeeling and harsh towards him. Will be keeping them both in my thoughts.

Also sorry to hear about your other friend, I hope that she won't suffer too much and the end will be peaceful.

Don't worry about loading your worriesn to us, we are your friends and are here to listen and support you. Will keeping you your friends and their families in my prayers and thoughts.

Mo, I thought the appointment re cyst was sometime towards the end of this month.
I hope all goes well with your appointment and that it can be easily sorted
GOOD LUCK!!! <3 <3

You never know Mo, you might get the fire fitted tomorrow. :-D :-D :-D Let's hope so.lol!!

Jean, I have had a look at your pics... cards are all lovely as always. Thanks, Ill try the shim as you have said and will have a look at that site on YouTube.

Our bedroom needs decorating, Alun has been going to do it since last February and still hasn't been done....was going to do it this week while he was on holiday...looks as though it won't be done this side of Christmas.lol!!

Talking about cleaners, we have a Henry, it's really good, but I find that it's a bit heavy and awkward to get it upstairs, so thinking of getting a lighter one that I can use for my craft room, as you know it get's in a mess at times.lol!!!

Ann, did you and T manage to get a new cleaner this morning? Hope you got what you wanted at B&Q too.

I won't be around tomorrow, as we are off to Richard's, picking Jennie up at
6 o clock in the morning, so off to bed soon. Will speak to you all on Friday.

Mo, some more GOOD LUCK wishes for Friday.<3 <3

Take care everyone.

Mo in Kent Report 24 Oct 2013 18:26

Thank you Jean and Sallie. My friend Jean passed this lunch time, with both of her daughters present, god bless and rest in peace Jean.xxx

Well, the ongoing saga of the fire.....the old one is out, but the new one is not what we expected unfortunately. But it will do for now, and I daren't say to much, or Roly will flip his lid after all the lugging and hauling he did, to get the old one out.
At the moment, we have a gaping hole, where the old fire came out, I just hope and pray no birds decide to fly down the chimney, to pay us a visit over night.
Oh good grief, if I get up in the morning, to find the lounge covered in soot, I shall scream, and even worse if I discover a bird.
We have put the old fire outside the house, waiting to see if it will vanish as quickly as the old radiator did, when the workmen put it out. lol

Thank the lord your eyes are o.k for the next six months Jean. You can continue with your wonderful card making my love.

I hope Sallie and Alun have had a nice time down at Richards, she will be back before we blink I know. :-S :-S :-S

Must go now girls, got a bit of clearing up to do, before I get ready for darts.
Take care everyone, love Mo xxx

Sallie Report 26 Oct 2013 19:28

Hello girls, we are back from Richard's, has a lovely day with him, unfortunately Christie had to work as she has only been working there for six weeks, so couldn't get any time off.

We went to Reading first thing on Thursday morning, then after shopping and an early lunch there, we decided to go to Windsor, (I love it there) where I bought a couple more Christmas pressies. After a lovely meal out we started our journey home. Yesterday we were out and about quite a bit, and been to Derby this morning....think it's time to settle down now and to get few jobs.lol!!

Mo, how did things go at the hospital for you? I hope everything went alright for you. I tried late yesterday evening to get onto This thread, but for some reason, kept getting the Error message......I know it wasn't my laptop this time.

So sorry to hear about your friend Jean, I hope that she didn't suffer towards the end and that it was peaceful. R.I.P.

Hope you and your team won the match on Thursday night.

Also hope you and Roly managed to get baby Zoey's Christmas present from Argos the other day.....and you didn't get it wrong.lolol!!! I sometimes think that the younger generation think we are not capable of following simple instructions.lolol!!

Jean, hope all went well with your eye appointment and that there was no problems.

I still haven't had time to look at that site on YouTube, but hopefully will be able to look at it tomorrow.

Thank you we had a lovely day with Richard. Jennie came with us so that she could share the driving with Alun, but drove there and back home again......she enjoys driving, it relaxes her. Richard did the driving while we were down there, it's easier to let him drive as he knows all the short cuts around the areas. I think Alun was glad to drive our car again on Thurday night.lol!!!!

Ann, hope that you are alright after your hospital appointment and that haven't suffered too much pain.

Well, I even looked for shoes in Reading and Windsor, with no luck at all....beginning to think I'll have to manage on my old shoes.lol!!

I bought a new die this morning, I didn't really need to buy anything but once they showed me the new Cheery Lynn die, I couldn't resist it.

Huia, hope that you are feeling less tired and were able to get your shopping done, and were able to visit Phil on the following day......hope that he is going along oaky.

Did you enjoy your visit to see your two grt.grandsons. I'm sure that you see a difference in them both each time you visit them. Trouble is they seem to grow up so quickly and wonder where the years have gone.

Sylvia and Marie, hope that you and your families are all well.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo in Kent Report 26 Oct 2013 22:33

Hello everyone,
Sorry Sallie, I forgot to let you know how it went at the hospital yesterday.
The specialist said the results of my blood test were good....pardon me, but what was the blood test for, she said that it was to see if the cyst was cancerous, and luckily for me it wasn't.
They don't intend to do anything about the cyst, but if in the future it should start to give me pain, then I am to go back to the doctor, and get me referred back to the hospital.
Thank the good lord, it has been a worry, but now I can relax, and enjoy life again.
Thank you all for your support.
I am pleased you had a lovely time away Sallie, but there is no place like home is there.
My daughter has problems getting shoes as well. She is between a 2 and 3, depending on the make, and in some shops all she could get at one time were childrens shoes. But these days, children are more fashion concious, and retailers are following what youngsters want, and buying in more fashionable shoes in smaller sizes.
We couldn't get Zoey's christmas present in Ar*os after all, so we went to Toys R *s,
it cost more, but it was what our grandaughter wanted for baby, so we got it whilst we could.
As for the darts, we lost, but I was lucky to win my singles game, and my partner and I won our pairs. So I don't feel to badly about us losing, it was only by one point anyway.
We have been out for a lovely meal tonight, with the family. I had sizzling chicken, with BBQ sauce, mushrooms, corn on the cob, tomato's and chips, it was yummy.
Everyone else had a dessert, but Roly and I were absolutely stuffed, and couldn't eat one.
We had our Lilly for four hours today, it was sooo lovely. We are also having her on Wednesday, but that is for the whole day, and it tires us easily, I do prefer to have her for just the four hours, but circumstances means that we have got her this Wednesday as well. Our son has got a health and safety course he has to do that day, so he can't miss it.

Well girls, it's time for bed, so I will say goodnight god bless. Love and hugs Mo xxx
