Jean thank you for your Easter card.

If they are cold sores (Herpes) Zovirax is what T uses he has always suffered from them. Stress or being under the weather or when he plays golf at a new course (different grasses in summer is what causes his.

Oooh look at our saucy Jean, she misses me.....I am sooo pleased to report, that I am back to plague the life out of you my love.
It does sound like you have got the Herpes Virus Jean, ( cold sores ), and as Ann has suggested, Zovirax is very good at clearing them up, or even the chemist own brands are just as good.

I have been a naughty girl today...I dragged poor Roly to Dunhelm Mills, to purchase, as Roly thought, some new sheets. LOL I came away with two new sets of bedding for each of our beds. Well poor chap he nearly had forty fits when he saw how much they came to, but bless him, he coughed up the money.
Cor I could have had a field day, with all the different sets of bedding, and I did give him a choice of what he wanted for his bed, and he chose a dark blue set, and a grey/black set, whereas mine were much lighter, white with lovely designs on them.
And to think we are actually going away for a week next month as well, but we deserve the break away, as we have not had a holiday for a couple of years now.

Well my little loves, I will say goodnight, god bless one and all. Mo xxx

Huia Report 16 Apr 2014 22:32

We have the tail end of cyclone Ita here. It is blowing hard and the rain is almost horizontal. I have just been down the drive to clear heaps of leaves out of the ditch at the side, and to clear dirt and stones out of a small ditch that crosses the drive at the top to divert the run-off into the ditch at the side. Last time it rained the water ran down the drive as that small ditch was so clogged. Now I am sitting here with damp hair and neck, even though the rain had eased briefly and I was wearing full wet weather gear. The hood of the parka never stays on my head. I will have to find a hat pin to hold it in place, but then I have very fine hair and I doubt if a hat pin would work. If I pull the cords on the hood and tie them under my chin I cant see as the hood then comes down over my eyes!

Hi Mo, and everyone

Mo ........ sorry to hear you have family problems. They're the pits ........... you so want to help, yet you know you should keep quiet!!!

We're all well-ish here ...................... my knee and leg are still causing problems, but are getting better. I've even had a couple of days almost pain-free :-)

Daughter and her husband are sill working with the counsellor trying to save their marriage. We just have to hope it all works out .................. both are going to have to make changes, and I'm not sure that one of them will be able to

I've just finished booking our trip to Montreal in June ................. we're going to a meeting there ............. so I've booked the train trips to go and to come back :-)

Hope that the cyclone has not been too bad for you, Huia. I have the same problem with hoods ..................... fine hair and a smallish head means that I usually end up with the hood covering my face down to my nose :-)

take care everyone

LOL Huia, the hood problem seems happen to us all. Mine drives me mad, especially when I am trying to cross a road, and the darned thing has worked it's way over my eyes, I look like I would expect Eskimo Nell to look, and I am terrified of getting run over.
Bless you my love, you work like a Trojan, keeping your property maintained, but as you would no doubt tell us, there is no one else to do it for you is there.
Just don't over do things, and stay as dry and safe as you can.

Hi Sylvia, sorry to hear you are still having problems with your knee and leg, I just hope that it will be better for when you go to Montreal in June.
Oh how I envy you the train journey....here I am turning green with envy, and thats not a pretty sight at the best of times.
Your poor daughter has such a hard journey to take, with her OH. His problems are not going to help the situation, and it will be almost impossible for him to change his habits of a lifetime.
For her and your grandsons benefit, I do hope things work out, and going to the counsellor, proves that she at least is trying, bless her.
I have learn't the hard way, to keep my mouth shut where family problems rear there ugly heads, and that is exactly what I am doing at the moment, but it is very very hard not to speak my mind.
My eldest daughter is still not talking to me, after our falling out, at our sons wedding, so now it's keep me trap shut, unless I am asked to intervene. LOL

Oh my goodness, I have been a busy bee today. All the windows have been cleaned inside and out, the nets all washed and put back uo.
Beds all changed, washed and ironed, and put away. Tomorrow even though it's good friday, the bedrooms will be hoovered and dusted whew I am exhasuted even thinking about it, let alone what I have managed to do today. LOL

Just in case I don't manage to get back tomorrow, have a wonderful Good Friday.
Take care everyone, Mo xxx

also have a happy and peaceful Easter.

Some of the ladies that work there are not very good, if they have to check if the envelope needs a large or regular stamp, they then put them behind the counter and to be honest I think they forget to put them in the mail bags behind the counter.

My sister in law got hers two weeks after we posted her birthday cards.

I hope that you are all okay.

Take care everyone.

Thank you Elzabeth, I hope you and your family have a joyous peaceful Easter time.

Thank you Sallie, we received your lovely card yesterday. I am not at all sure what is becoming of the postal services these days. And it's scandalous that they have increased their prices, but reduced their services to one delivery a day, and thats if we are lucky enough to get it even then.
Have you noticed how much junk mail the postmen are now putting through our letter boxes ?
Even though we may not get any mail, we still get the junk even though we have a notice on our door, stating that we do not want junk mail, or menu's, the postman is brazen enough to ignore it.

Well everyone, a happy Easter, don't eat to many chocolate eggs...think of the calories lol
Love and hugs, Mo xxx

Sallie Report 19 Apr 2014 17:38

Mo, glad that you received my card.....there was I thinking that they were all still sitting on the counter at the back of the post office. Still it has taken long enough to get there, considering that it was posted first class on Tuesday morning. I think those ladies at the post office really need to retire, they have worked there for years, we have lived here for 35years and they were there then except for one, the others are now a load of old biddies.lol!!

Well I know I'm an old biddy myself, but at least I'm not as miserable looking as they are.lol!!

Hope the some of the problems with family and friends are getting better for you.

It's a shame that your daughter still won't speak to you Mo. Let's hope that she will come to her senses soon and see how much she has hurt you. Is she invited to your other daughter's wedding? If she is, maybe she will talk or at least acknowledge you there.

Hope you and Roly will enjoy a peaceful weekend.

Happy Easter to you and your family.

Hi Sallie,
Yes our daughter was sent an invitation to the wedding, but she has not responded to it at all.
The daughter who is getting married, didn't expect her to go, but felt she must invite her.
Eldest daughter is still not speaking to the one who is getting married either,oh and also one brother of hers.

Lol, the old biddies made me chuckle, but you are not amongst them my love, you are still a spring chick.

Sallie thank you for your pretty card I received it on Wednesday. Glad you got mine OK.
Mo It is the daughter not speaking to anyone who is the loser isn't it? she is alienating herself from her family, she can't be a happy person.

I agree with you Ann, but daughter can be a very stubborn woman. She has changed so much over the years, going from a timid mouse, to a tiger who would bite your head off, for no apparant reason.
I seriously wonder if she is going through the menopause, as I was a real nightmare when I went through mine.
All I can do is sit and wait patiently.

I am not sure what is happening with our weather, it's been pouring it down all day, for goodness sake we have had enough of the wet stuff recently.
Still it is April isn't it, April showers and all that.

I hope you have all had a lovely Easter Sunday. Bye for now, Mo xxx

Sallie Report 21 Apr 2014 00:34

Mo, families they are the worry of our lives sometimes, but we wouldn't be without them. I agree with Ann about your daughter being the loser as she has cut off you and a couple of her siblings......don't think that she can be very happy.

As you say Mo, it sounds as though she could be going through her menopause, so that explains why she taking everything that is said to her as personal and being angry with everyone.
As you say Mo, all you can do is wait patiently, not a very easy task though.

Ann, thank you for your lovely Easter card......can't remember if I thanked you or not, sorry if I hadn't.

I was a bit worried about Jean, as she hadn't been on for a few days, so I sent her a pm last night.....she replied this morning. She is suffering from tiredness and isn't feeling very well at all. I wouldn't be surprised that she is still suffering from the virus she picked up when she was in Llandudno. As you all know these viruses can stay in your system for quite a few weeks and can sometimes cause a couple of problems for some people.

Jean if you are looking in, hope that you will soon start to fell better. Look after yourself and take care. <3 <3

Hope everyone enjoyed the Easter weekend.

Take care everyone.

Thank you Sallie for updating us about Jean. Bless her and J, every time they go away on holiday, they manage to have caught something by the time they get home.
Jean, DON'T go away again my love. Put a tent up in the back garden, and get your neighbours to supply you with cups of tea, then phone up the local take aways for your dinners.
Failing that, Sallie and myself will get on trains and come up and wait on you hand and foot. Ooops hope I haven't put my foot in it Sallie LOL

Well my friends, we decided to go down to the coast this morning.
It was glorious, the temperature was up to 17 degrees, the sun was shining loevly.
We had a walk along the front, went up into the town, then back onto the front, and by this time, the tide had come in, cor luv a duck, the wind got up, and fairly blew us back to the car, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
It was so nice to sit and watch the families on the beach, and the children making sand castles.
It doesn't take much to please me these days. We had a lovely lunch out, and I have just finished cooking the chips to have with yesterdays cold meat, yummy.

Well my friends, take care, speak to you soon. Hugs Mo xxx

Sallie Report 21 Apr 2014 19:18

Mo, that's okay, I was getting worried not having seen Jean on here for a few days, especially knowing that she still hadn't recovered fully from the virus she had while she was away.

Glad that you and Roly enjoyed your day out to the coast today. it's ages since we have been to the coast anywhere. .

When we were living in South Wales it wasn't to far to go to the coast, especially when we lived at Neath, we could see most of Swansea Bay from our dining room window, the view was wonderful. Living in the East Midlands we now have to go a good many miles to get to the coast. Never, mind we have lovely places to go all over Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, so we are happy with that.

Richard and Christie were on holiday from work last week, one day they went to Brighton and another day they went to Bournemouth, they really enjoyed themselves on the two days. Not sure how long it took them, but they only live about half a mile away from the M4 and not very far from the M25,

Mo, if you are up to it we'll both get a train up to Lancashire and wait on Jean and J hand and foot, they will have a holiday of a lifetime in their tent with us looking after them.lolol!!

Joyce posted a thread this afternoon, saying that Jan is ill and that his brothers had to take him into hospital. He'd been kept in as he is quite poorly and by what Joyce said he has problems with his kidneys.
I hope and pray that it isn't too serious and that he will soon get well.

Ann, hope that you and T are both alright. Is your daughter and son in law still with you? I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend together.

Alun and I have spent a good bit of time over the weekend doing some family history research. Found one or two things that might help, but it is like looking for a needle in a haystack, lol!!

Sylvia, I hope that your leg is improving so that it will be right for your holiday in Montreal.

Also hope that the counselling is working for your daughter and son in law and that they are now able to start working out their problems.
Hope your little grandson is alright too.

Huia and Maria, hope all is well with you and your families.

Well must go now, so will chat to you all again soon.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.

Hi Mo, and everyone

It turned out to be a lovely day today ............ not the forecast rain, but sunny and quite warm :-)

I was at the physio today and discovered that I have another problem with my knee .................. a sports injury :-)

The physio thinks I should get a T-shirt with "I have a sports injury" on the front of it
:-D :-D

I have a hamstring problem :-D

It all makes sense after he'd explained it ................. think of the old spiritual song,

Ankle bone connected to the shin bone
Shin bone connected to the knee bone
Knee bone connected to the thigh bone
Thigh bone connected to the hip bone
Hip bone connected to the back bone
Back bone connected to the shoulder bone

---------
In my case, the hamstring that runs down the outside back of the thigh connects near the top of the fibular.

I have had a displaced fibular for weeks ................ and this has now affected the hamstring

He massaged and pummeled away at it today .............. and said it would help if OH could do something similar starting on Thursday. He said I would probably be bruised, so OH would know where to "massage hard" :-D

At least, it isn't more osteo-arthritis

The problems with daughter are still on-going ................ they're having counselling, which hopefully will work

take care everyone

Hello there everyone,
My laptop threw a wobbly on me, and I had to sort it out myself. We were going to take it up to P.C World, but clever clogs here sorted it out herself. Don't ask me how I did it, coz I haven't got a clue. I did do a defrag, and then had to update windows, it told me I had bug in the system.

Our son is in hospital...he started with a small spot under his arm, and in two days had grown to the size of a golf ball.
They took him down to theater this morning, and drained and packed what they are saying was an abscus (sp).
He is in a lot of pain, and on morphine and anti-biotics to help the situation.
Little Lilly is completely lost without him, and kept asking for him, so we took her up to the hosptal this afternoon to see him. Bless her, she was so good, and kept telling us not to make to much noise because people were poorly.

Sylvia, I do hope your O.H takes it easy on your injuries, you don't need any more bruises, after what the physio did to you my love.
People will think O.H is beating you LOL

Sallie, what time train are we going to catch to get to Jean and J's house. Don't tell her we are coming, it will be a surprise for her, she may not open the door if she knows it's us knocking. LOL

Do you know what girls, the weather went up to 20 degrees here today, but it's now tiddling it down with rain. How unbelievable can our weather be.
I must say night night now, as I am crean crackered. Hugs to you all. Mo xxx

Just remembered, I must say hello to, Ann,Huia, Marie, Dutch +Jan (who is poorly)
And last but not least our leader Jean <3 <3 <3

Hi Mo, I hope you son will soon start to feel better once the antibiotics start working.

I'm sure that Lilly is missing her daddy, bless her, as I'm sure that like Jennie was and still is, a daddy's girl.lol!! Do you know how long he will have to stay in hospital?

Yes it was lovely here this morning too, but this afternoon it clouded over and we have had rain on and off since then.

Mo, I will check on the times of the trains and let you know......hope Jean will be happy to see us. LOL. Although I'm sure she will.

I hope that she is starting to feel better, I will send her a pm to find out things are going for her.

Yes, it's a shame that Jan is so poorly, I hope that there is an improvement in his condition today, so that it will put his and Joyce's mind at rest. He really is a very nice person, friendly and happy and we feel comfortable when in his company.

Sylvia, at least you now know that you haven't got more osteo - arthritis, although I'm sure it must be just as painful.

Let's hope that with your OH massaging it for you and the physio that you have each week, it will soon feel a lot more comfortable for you.

that counselling for your daughter and son in law will be a success.

Where is everyone else? Have they all gone into hiding? LOL Any way hope that you are all alright.

Well I'll love and leave you all now. Chat to you all soon.

Take care everyone.

Love and best wishes.
