Well everyone, we have a very special persons birthday tomorrow, *************************************************************************************** A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR LOVELY JEAN, enjoy your special day. ***************************************************************************************
At long last our new baby has been given a name, Ava Rose, and she is as lovely as her name, bless her. Two grandaughters with names of flowers, well sort o, Lilly and Ava Rose.. The second name, is after my mum.
Tomorrow is opticians for me, I think I definately need news specs, I cannot for the life of me even read any wording on the T.V screen now, whereas I could not to long ago. More expense, but a neccessary need.
Right bath time for me, I have got darts tonight, thats if I can throw them. LOL take care everyone, hugs Mo

Mo, that's nice giving the baby her second name after your mother, I'm sure that you must be thrilled. As you say, two of your granddaughter's with names of flowers. Bless them!
Hope that your team will win the dart matches tonight. You and Jean are not the only ones that might need new glasses, I am also having problems seeing things clearly from a distance with the glasses I have, so I must sort out an appointment for an eye test.
Jean, I am so pleased that you are feeling so much better that you were able to do some die cutting, even though you needed a rest after doing it.
Has J decided on which car he would like yet or would he like to keep to the same model car you have now, but of course a newer one?
I bet you are all looking forward to seeing Charlie on Saturday.....I bet he is growing in leaps and bounds now. Bless him!
I have to go to the doctors a week today, I feel that my hearing has got worse in my left ear, so need to see the doctor before I can have another hearing test, the last one I had was almost three years ago. So will have to wait and see what she says. What between my hearing and my eye sight, don't rate this getting old very much.lol!!
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Jean. Hope you'll have a lovely day. xxx <3 :-) :-)
Hope all our other friends on here are alright.
Take care everyone.
Love, Sallie. xxx

Mo that is a really pretty name for the new baby. Hope all went well at darts. Huia hope the finger continues to heal now the stitches are out.
Had my hair coloured today, did the grocery shop and planted a few plants in the garden, luckily it was dry and sunny. :-)

Hi Mo, and everyone
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEAN xxxx
I hope that you have a lovely day
The plastic nose pad on my glasses split over the weekend ................... so I had to visit the opticians to have it replaced.
I thought I might as well take in the prescription that the optometrist gave me at the end of November last year :-)
They should be ready next week ................. but we'll be away, so they'll have to hang on to them!
take care everyone

Lovely day here today. Walked round for the papers after putting a load of washing on the line, including a large duvet cover (that took some lifting on.) Came back, did an hour in the garden, then came in and made two more photo cards. This afternoon we went to the range and bought T a new ironing board cover. Also bought a new small omelette pan to replace the one we lost. (I know!!! How do you lose a small frying pan?) a pack of screws and a few craft bits. came back and sat in the garden with a cup of tea. had to sit in the shade as it was too hot in the sun. Sadly thought the forecast for tomorrow is not good at all so I was making the most of today.
Hope you have enjoyed your birthday Jean. :-D :-D <3

Hi to all my friends, and very special birthday wishes to Jean,I am sure you had a lovely day <3 Love and Hugs Jean. We are all well here, we had our first really big frost this morning the Bird Bath is still frozen , however it is a Beautiful day.
I will be doing some gardening later I am re-potting some of my larger plants and I have some lovely pansies to pot up for some color around the front door.
Sally I was very pleased to hear that your daughter wont need an operation, I am sure she was pleased to hear the news.
I am having the Cataract in my right eye removed on Wednesday 11th.June I should be able to see better after it is done, it is costing over $2,000 just for the Surgeon then there is the cost for the the Anestheist ,I have already spent a small fortune on tests re the Cataract.
Hi Huia, your Finger should heal better now you have had the stitches removed I hope all is well with your family and Phil .
My youngest Granddaughter Matilda is to be Baptized on Sunday and her two sister's are being received into the Catholic Church, I am very happy about this ,I just wish my son's and Daughter's would come back and practice their faith also . I guess I need to pray a lot more.
Hi Sylvia,I hope you have a very nice trip. The sprinkling of the Ashes and meeting with your daughter and family sounds lovely, also the sending of your sister-in-law off by drinking her wine sounds great.
Congratulations Mo, on your new Granddaughter and I love the name .I hope your tests go well this week . Hello Ann, sorry to have gotten the names of your hubby and Sallies husband mixed I do get a little confused now, now that I am 75 it is too be expected LOL

Hi Mo, and everyone
Hope everyone is well
Only 2 more days, and we will be on the train to Montreal :-)
I'm busy trying to get my stuff together ....... I let OH sort himself out :-D
We have 1 small case and a bag between us for the 4 days on the train, and 1 case to be checked ........ with the clothes etc for Montreal and then the return home
We will have the laptop with us .................. but I have no idea what the WiFi situation will be. Certainly not on the train for most, if not all, the journey.
The weather looks as though it will be hot in Montreal
Then we're back for 3 days, before going up North for about a week
I'll try to post before we leave, but I think it will then be a case of me popping in as and when ............... so don't worry unless you haven't heard for a month :-)
take care everyone

Hi All what slackers we all are with this thread. I often post on the Welsh thread and later think it was this one so then this one gets neglected or vice versa.
Yesterday my car passed its MOT (£39 special price at the moment). T's car was fixed and they phoned us first thing in the morning so we could pick it up when we dropped mine off. his cost £167 which I thought was quite good. The sensor was £98.
We went to Dunelm and the range while waiting for my car. Bought two new pillows and pillow protectors for our bed. A few craft bits, not much else.
Today T is playing golf and he had a late start so won't be home until 2.30 at the earliest. I went for a long walk round the village. I think it was probably about 3 miles, all flat luckily. So my legs ache now. Trying to get a bit of practice in case we manage to fit in any walks next week. T does have a short but steep one he'd like to do. :-(

Ann sorry, just noticed that I didn't reply to you on 5th June about hearing aids. As you probably remember me saying any problem I could ring the hearing centre direct and they would give me the earliest appointment they had for our surgery. But because my hearing has got slightly worse, I have to make an appointment with a doctor so that he/she can confirm that I need a hearing test as it is three years since I had the last one..
I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning, she is new to the practice so hope she is okay.....doctor I usually see is partly retired now and would have had to wait nearly four weeks to see him.
Jean, lovely to see you post. Yes I need to sort out my card making stash, I keep telling myself I am not going to buy anymore, as I have more than enough as it is. Trouble is I see new dies, embossing folders etc.. and I can't resist.lol!!
I bet J can't wait to get his new car, great that he will get it on his birthday, and such a special birthday too.
We had a flood here on Monday, I have never seen rain like we had. Both the back garden and front were under nearly two foot of water, all in a matter of ten to twelve minutes. So we now have to have new carpet in the hall, stairs and landing, not sure if we can claim off the insurance company....Alun is going to ring them tomorrow.
This morning we did the usual weekly shopping and the this afternoon we went to Derby so that I could get my hair done. Long way to go to get my hair cut I know, but no appointment needed and I like the same girl to cut my hair.
Will say goodnight now, speak to you soon.
Take care.
Love, Sallie. xxx

Ann, I went to see the doctor this morning and gave her the letter that I received from the audiologist, to give to the doctor. She could not understand why the audiologist had referred me to her as I have been with the hearing centre for three years so wondered why she couldn't give me an appointment for a re-assessment hearing test herself. Anyway the doc looked in my ears just to make sure there was no wax.
Very nice doctor, she is fairly new to the practice so this is the first time I have seen her. I told her that the audiology clinic had changed their appointment system and that it was much better the way it was. Now the doctor has to refer me to them for an appointment which they already knew that I needed. Hope you can understand what I mean.lolol!!!
Hello to everyone else, hope that you are all okay.
Love and best wishes to you all.

Good evening ladies :-D As you know l do enjoy reading this thread so thought l'd tell you about Ed's hearing !!!!! well he was meant to wear hearing aids but could never get on with them so rarely wore them and over the years they have fallen apart so he went to our new doctor who referred him to Spec savers who now do hearing as well as glasses but to cut a long story short within 3 weeks he has his hearing aids and they fit lovely and he is wearing them and the icing on the cake they were FREE. :-D Ann thought you might be interested on a group on facebook called Fareham Nostalgia, you just put that in you search bar and it should come up, you have to join the group but its really interesting, last week they was a photo of a V. E day party in St Michaels Grove. Take care all, x

Sallie. How strange once going to the hearing clinic you shouldn't need to be referred again.
Mummo wow I will have a look at that site thank you. Glad Ed now has his aids my sister couldn't get on with the NHS aids (Hampshire she is still in Fareham). But she went to Specsavers and doesn't get hers free. Any idea why? She is over 65 and in receipt of DLA.

~~~~ to Mummo~~~~ J has one aid and it wont stay in, so he very rarely wears it , D has acute hearing so there is always a conflict about the tele, I have two aids, nhs ones although the left one irritates my ear , I mentioned it last time we went and they took no notice, now I cant find the aid probably in the waste bin, so I should go back ,but will have to pay for a new one,a friend had a great in the ear aid from spec savers , now he has got the nhs one, and loves it... swings and roundabouts...I could do to have a check up too, so will ring them soon..I wear my hair short and always think the aids are a bit to big especially when we wear glasses too...
My hair is short Jean but all you can see of my NHS aids is the transparent tube. Sometimes I don't get the left one in properly and it is uncomfortable but I know how to realign it. You have to persevere to adapt to it. Jeffs should not be loose that is bad fitting. All counties aids are different though. When my sister had a NHS one it was nothing like mine.
