Hi,Sallie, what did you get craftwise? I have just recieved a Tonic wallet to hold dies along with a tattered lace die and a spellb one,( the book shape,) also a new Tonic one .so will get the dies organised, and sort through all the diecut shapes I have, maybe colour some of them....no use doing any more cards for awhile have too many .... we havent been to far in the car , just some shopping and local visits, seems to be o.k. comfy and easy to get in and out of... J says the petrol mileage is very good, but we should go on a longer run to get a proper picture of how many m.p.g.
I have been watching on youtube a lady using vellum die cuts and also embossing vellum , so would like to have a go at that,
hope everyone else is o.k. and hope to hear from you all soon . take care ..

Hi Jean, didn't get too much craft stuff. just some card and some small flowers. They didn't seem to have anything new in , so will wait and see what the'tt have next time I go. I haven't made many cards lately, only got to make two for the 14th July and then an anniversary for Alun towards the end of August. I am thinking about starting to make some Christmas cards, just some plain and easy ones.
I have loads of Christmas stash so I am going to send some of it to Shaun....it will help him as there isn't a craft shop that he can get to easily.
Glad that your new car is going well and that it is nice and comfortable to ride in.
Everyone is ok here thank. Just hope it keeps going that way.lol!!!
Will chat to you soon.
Take care,
Love, Sallie. xxx

We have just watched the most amazing firework display from the local barracks up the road, best I have ever seen. Not too loud either except a couple, just very pretty. The only thing I can think it is either for independence day but that is tomorrow, or a summer ball, unusual on a Thursday. It is a Nato base so all nationalities so it could be anything. Still it was worth watching.

Hi Mo, and everyone
we're back!
I haven't yet read back .................. and not sure if I will ever find the time to catch up with you all :-)
I did see that Mo has had her little "scope" ........ so glad to hear that things seem to be fine.
We had a good trip north. The celebration went well ................ about 20-25 people turned up to help drink to my sis-i-l ...........
.......... although they didn't make that much impression on the 44 bottles of wine that her children had found in the liquor "cupboard" :-)
The spreading of the ashes took place on June 30 ....................... the "kids" managed to borrow a special all-terrain vehicle type of thing that could get me from the parking area up the very steep path to the top of the knoll where the action was to take place. We all found our own little private spots to place some of the ashes, under trees and shrubs.
It was great to see our daughter and grandson ................. who was a little bit fazed a suddenly meeting 5 cousins he didn't know about :-) We didn't confuse him further by saying that they were actually second cousins :-D
He did have fun playing with them ............ eldest turned 6 last Thursday, the youngest is 18 months old ...................... belonging to 3 different families :-)
We as a family also ended up spending several hours on both Sunday and Monday in the Emergency ward of the local hospital.
First of all, my daughter needed treatment on Sunday .................. she is now OK and went home as planned on Tuesday
Then OH had to go in on Monday with bad gut pains .................... ultrasounds, ECGs and x-rays finally showed that he has a hernia in his diaphragm that has allowed some of his stomach to move up into his chest, and will need an operation to correct it. They administered quite a few doses of morphine to get the pain down, and then released him
He slept well that night
It has apparently been developing for several years ..................... now he is on small frequent meals until he can see his GP and get referral to a specialist.
take care everyone

Mo, how are you getting on? It's almost a week since we heard from you, so hope that everything is alright.
Sylvia, pleased that all went well for you all with the spreading of you sister-in-law's ashes.
Hope that your daughter hasn't had anymore problems since going to the hospital while you were away and that she is now feeling a lot better.
Sorry that OH had to go to the hospital too while you were away. Hope that he isn't in too much pain and that your GP will be able to get him a quick hospital referral.
Sending both OH and your daughter my best wishes and hope that all will be well for them soon.
Jean, how are you and the family doing? Hope that you are all okay.
Ann, are you still making cards? It's a long while since anyone posted on your crafts, card making etc.... thread.
Hope that you and T are both ok.
Huia, it's a while since we heard from you, hope that you are alright.
Marie, also hope that everything is alright with you and your family.
Well, it's time for bed now, so will chat again soon.
Love and best wishes to you all. Sallie. xxx

I am fine, Sallie. My son came up at the weekend and cut down a lot of the shrubbery lining our drive, while I carted the stuff off to sump elsewhere. He also did a few other jobs, changing a light bulb and the battery in a smoke detector and finished up cutting those pine branches to length with his chainsaw, an a tree stump which has been sitting around for some time he cut into lengths then split up for firewood, so I am ok for firewood for this year.
Yesterday I went to a funeral in Auckland. Dad's last cousin had died aged 92. I didn't work in the shop as I wanted to go to the funeral.
Today is very windy and it is now starting to rain.

Hi Huia. pleased to know that you are alright. It must have been nice for you, having your son there...it's good that he was able to do a few jobs for you and that you now have plenty of firewood ready for winter.
Sorry to hear about your dad's cousin, he was a good age at 92....good that you were able to go to his funeral in Auckland.
Nice hearing from you, look after yourself.

Hi all, well done Sallie for keeping the thread going! I sometimes post on the welsh thread and forget this one or vice versa.
Yes I am still making cards although I do have quite a few already in the box ready to send out. A few days back I made T's card and yesterday I made a golden wedding card for a penfriend. I don't make so many at this time of year as a lot of my time is spent in the garden.
Huia, nice to have your son there making himself useful and good to have all the firewood. Your cousin was avery good age but it is still sad to lose family. Which reminds me I must write to one of my cousins who is 91 now, not heard for ages so wondering if he is ok. We only correspond a couple of times a year.
We have just been down to Blooms which is a Wyvale Garden centre down the M5 from us, as I had £4 worth of vouchers, all we bought was slug bait which the vouchers paid for!!!
But on the way back we called in to look at the new Gloucester services. Really impressive, run by the same people that run the one on the M6 in the Lake District T*****, can't remember the name of that one. Lovely shop inside with mostly Gloucester produce we bought, chipolatas, cheese, rolls, a small pie (big enough for both of us for a snack lunch.) If we hadn't been going away for the weekend we would have bought meat, it all looked very good. They even had sticky toffee pudding and cake both from Cartmel. Outside lots of picnic tables and outside tables, the lunches also looked very good. Just a shame that it is in the wrong place for us to use when travelling. About a mile from the 11a turn off. Still we will shop there again, it was a bit more expensive but as with all farmers markets, worth it for quality.
Sylvia welcome back to the thread, I think I 'spoke' to you on the Welsh thread.

Ann, I have only been making the cards I need for the birthdays each month. I keep looking in the craft shops but there doesn't seem to be anything new in any of them at the moment, just hope things will get better. Went to Hobbycraft last week. they didn't have very much there at all, it wasn't worth looking there at all. They are now all into cake decorating and jewellery making. I have been thinking about doing some knitting. but can't decide what to make, it is years since I knitted anything at all. lol!!
Hope that you and T enjoyed your snack lunch you bought in the shop at the new Gloucester services.
Well, I'm still worried about Mo not having heard from her since last week, I just hope that she is all right.
Hello to everyone else.
Love. Sallie. xxx

Happy Birthday Sallie, have a wonderful day lots of pressies and cards
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D <3 <3
Today we are getting a quote for the roof of the conservatery, so we can use it all year round....even with heating in, it is very cold in the winter months...we dont get sun until late in the year and not for long, the big problem is were to put the furniture and chairs if we go ahead with it , we have a tall freezer in also and they will have to work round that ..
Both J and myself have been hit with a tummy virus, its doing the rounds so it seems, I am still feeling a bit off, but like a lot of folk we dont drink enough liquid, so need to sort it out... I havent made cards for ages , although I have been trying embossing vellum and acetate, turned out well so will have some to wrap round cards....I have large box full of cards , and not one for my friends birthday or any sympathy cards would you believe it :-0 :-0 :-0 so must hurry up and sort that out too...
Ann, your visit to the garden centre sounds nice, we have two large ones close by, so we are going to have a look sometime soon ...I have some birthday money left and would like some taller plants for out side, I did get a Fuschia which is thriving at the front of the house ,but although we dont have a garden as such, but the parking area is getting overgrown so we are waiting for a man to come and sort it out so maybe some shrubs will brighten the outlook.....
I hope everyone else are keeping well Mo where are you???? are you ok. or still milking the resting thingy ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) missing you hun <3 <3
love to everyone else Jean xx <3

Happy birthday Sallie, hoping my card gets there on time, left it a bit late to post I'm afraid, normally I give it four or five days.
Jean, sorry you have both been unwell. As you don't go out much do you know where you picked up a bug? Nasty things tummy bugs, hope you are both back to full health soon.
Like you I have a box full of cards and often have to make another one because none of the ones I have suit. Just made a golden wedding card and birthday card for T, now have his anniversary card to sort out and then our Grandson's wedding card. Luckily I do have enough for the birthday group. :-)

Jean and Ann, thank you both so much for your lovely cards and your birthday wishes on here and on the birthday thread, it's nice to be thought of, thank you again.
We just went to our favourite garden centre, had a look around and bought one or two things, then had a snack in the coffee shop there. This evening we went out for a meal with Jennie and Michael, so all in all I have a lovely day.
I have an appointment tomorrow morning with the audiologist, so will get my new hearing aids, thank goodness. It will be nice to be able to hear more clearly again.
I'll speak to you again tomorrow, take care.

Hi Mo, and everyone
Marie ....... it is lovely to see you posting, and to hear all your news xxxx
OH saw the GP yesterday afternoon re the stomach problem. The decision is ........................... do nothing!
He has to be careful about eating several small meals and snacks a day, drink more water and juice than he usually does, and has to eat slowly.
It seems that an operation may cause even more problems and can have very serious side effects. So, doing nothing is the best treatment
He also heard early this morning that his colonoscopy scheduled for noon on Tuesday .................
has been delayed
It is now scheduled for September 16 at 7 am
We take this as a sign that it is not urgent :-)
We made reservations on the ferry yesterday to go to the Island later next week to visit our friend. We haven't been over there since Christmas :-(
take care everyone

Marie, lovely to hear from you and pleased to know that you and your family are all fine.
Sorry to hear about your eye and hope that it will soon clear with the stronger drops, it will be lovely when you have your new glasses.
Thank you for your good wishes for my birthday.....yes I had a lovely day, thanks.Hope that your granddaughter had a lovely birthday too. Did she have a party? If she did, I expect she loved every minute of it.
Alun and I have had a dog lodger since just before Christmas, he is our daughter and her hubby's dog, they moved back to live nearer us and M's parents, but the place they moved into pets are not allowed, so we decided to have him live with us, he's lovely..I have his photo as my avatar.
Jean, I hope that both you and J are getting over the tummy bug and are feeling a lot better. Hope D hasn't got it too.
Have you definitely decided to have the roof done? If so, hope that they will be able to do it for you soon.....It will be so much warmer and cosier for you in the winter.
I have four birthday cards to make for this month, so I will have to get a move on and then I am going to start on my Christmas cards, although I have quite a few made from last year.
We went into Derby this morning, of course, I had to have a look in the craft shop in one of the markets there and ending up buying some new Christmas Decoupage that she had there. lol!!
Ann, I'm sure that I read on one of your posts that you and T are away for the weekend. If so,I hope both of you will have a lovely time.
Yes thank you Ann, I received your card on Wednesday, the day of my birthday.
Jennie's birthday was on the 29th of May, my sister-in-law posted her birthday card two days before on, the 27th, and Jennie didn't receive it until last last week 4th July, and it only had to come from Ilkley, West Yorkshire. So goodness knows where it had been during that time.
Huia, just hoping that all is well with you and that you are still working in the charity.
Sylvia, hope that you and OH are okay at the moment. Also hope that OH has managed to see your GP by now. Hope that your daughter is feeling a lot better too.
Mo, missing you and hoping that you are not poorly. Thinking of you. Sending you lots of ((((((HUGS))))))
Well ladies, I will say bye for now.
Take care.
Love and best wishes to you all.
