Hello Me, aka Jean. I feel as if I have been bashing my head on a brick wall. New Zealanders are so thick. They have returned the National Debt party with a clear majority. That means that more of the country's assets will be sold off, and we still get deeper into debt. The current debt for every man, woman and child, even new-born babies, is almost $20,000. Not many have that much money. I despair for my country. :-( :-0 :-| :-S

Well, a long time since anyone posted on here. Hello all. We came home on 22nd, I posted elsewhere but because this thread was nowhere in sight I forgot to post on it. Photo of Jean's gift bag on the craft blog and photos of Tenerife on the photo blog.
Today I have made five cards so far using toppers I made in Tenerife on the only cool day we had.
Hope you are all ok and that Jean's head is better. I see you were reduced to talking to yourself Jean.
In case I forgot and because I didn't get some until we returned. thank you Jean, Mo and Sallie for our anniversary cards. Even though past the date I displayed them for a week. Jean's was displayed in Tenerife!!! :-D

Ann, I was going to just add so you beat me to it, my laptop has been playing up, so more cards made, btw did you get some pics I sent when you came home more gift bags and a selection of cards , I managed to do some more over the weekend too. so pics are taken, when D puts them on I will send them to you, stilll havent heard from Sallie hope all is well and that she is busy crafting, just had a look at your photo blog , lovely pics, very envious, love the selfie :-D :-D :-D the flowers are beautiful... so glad you enjoyed the break, I hope that big wine glass wasnt full before the pic was taken,
re the paper backing stash, if you have room down the side of a cupoard or even at the back of door, a good way to store stuff like them is to get a pocketed hanger, I use them to store all manner of things especially cleanining dusters aerosols etc. sadly I have nowhere to hang one ithe craft room, they are ideal to store smaller things in....I went to Range and got a christmas goody bag with loads of stuff in it including, embossing folder, die , lovelly merry christmas stamp, glitter pots, pack of blank cards and envelopes, and much more,I have always got some good stuff from them...
We have noticed a green bush growing on the parking plot and J brought a leaf in , I am pretty sure its Japanese hybrid knotweed , now what do we do to get rid of it.... we have honeysuckle growing up the water board fencing dont know were that came from... some blue bells came up. also tree lupins that self seed, again where that came from , who knows.....too much for us to tidy up so need to get a gardener to do a clean up and hopefully contain the lupins and other plants , mostlly that birds have dropped them I think... D has just come home, so I better help with the tea.. so good to hear from you, missed you lots...
love to all Jean xxx <3 <3

Hello girls, Good news re our daughter. The colonoscopy, and camera down the throat, proved that she has not got Cancer, praise the lord. She is Iron deficient, and they need to do more tests, to find out what is causing it. I am absolutely fuming at the doctor, for telling her that she either had, bowel, or stomach cancer, or she had a bleed somewhere in her body. The doctor has a lot to answer for, causing so much worry to our daughter and her family, let alone the heartache it caused Roly and myself.
I have another scan being done this Thursday evening, to find out if the pains I am having is caused by lessions to my bowel. My diet has been completely changed, and I now only eat Gluten free rolls or bread, and I am feeling a lot better for it.
Our grandaughter Lilly, is to see a paediatrician soon, as the health visitor thinks she has got A.D.H.D. She feels no pain when she hits her head on a brick wall, or smacks her head on the floor. She is extremely hyper active, and does not sleep all night. When she wakes up, she wakes the whole house up thinking it's time to get up. Her attention span is practically zero. At nursery, they often ring and ask for her to be picked up and taken home, for appears to be no reason at all. Last Thursday we went to pick her up from the nursery, and as soon as I saw her, she was sporting a lovely black eye. According to the nursery, the children were out playing and Lilly and another child collided. The other child was fine, and the staff were so shocked that Lilly showed no signs of being upset or hurt. It was annoying because they did not ring either parent to let them know what had happened. D.I.L and son, have made an appointment to speak to the head teacher, as they should have been informed about what had happened to little one.
Well enough of my woes, how the devil are you all? Whats the weather like where you all live? Here in Kent, it has been dizzly all day, and has come in rather chilly tonight.....but I WILL NOT put the heating on just yet, I am detemined about that. Apparantly we are due for a nice day tomorrow, but I wont hold my breath about that, and shall believe it when I see it.
Well my friends, take care of yourselves, speak to you soon. Mo xxx

Mo, this is such good news for you all, just need to get your test done but I have to say I would be putting a complaint in about the doctor and the way he assumed so much without knowing the results he had no right making you all worry so much. needless too... glad you are feeling better with your change of eating ,
we will be thinking of you and of Lily too...hope Roly is looking after you Mo, no painting or doing the gardening, missed you honey, but glad to see you back....
Just need to hear from Sallie and the other ladies , and anyone else who wants to add a word or two...take care everyone .
love Jean xxx <3 <3 <3

Jean I don't think I had any more photos from you after the one gift bag. Yes those hanging pockets are good but I have too many books and packs for that, some of them are A4 as well Not sure about Japanese knotweed but I think there may be rules governing getting rid of it. Mo I am so pleased that it was good news about your daughter. How unprofessional of her doctor though. Good luck finding your problem and hopefully a cure. And now you have more problems with Lilly hopefully medication can help her.

Hi Mo, and everyone
It is definitely Fall here ..............1 lovely sunny day, 2 rainy ........................ this area is classified as Temperate Rain Forest for good reason :-)
Today is a lovely sunny day ............ a few clouds around, but not too bad for Fall. It's quite warm
Yesterday was horrendous!
It teemed down for about 4 hours, from about 10 am until close to 2 pm
and that was exactly the time that I had to be out and about :-(
I got soaked just walking the block and a half from the bus stop to the house ........... even my Goretex jacket wasn't up to it!
I did however get to the GP's, and get my new supply of prescriptions .................. plus doing a little shopping in downtown.
That was not a diversion .......... to get home from the doctor's office out at the university, I have to take one bus into downtown, and then transfer to another one coming out of downtown. Any other way of doing it involves 3 buses and takes longer!
The two shops I needed to go into are right at the bus stop where I have to change :-)
Otherwise we are all well, and life is progressing ............ although we did hear of the death of another close friend last week. That makes 9 close friends and family who have died this year. :-(
I now have our Christmas trip to the daughter's all booked, both the trains and the hotels.
Mo ................. that is good news about your daughter.

Hello folks, how are we all? It was so nice to see that our Joyce had posted, it's been such a long time since we heard from her.
Elizabeth, thank you for popping on to speak to us, we are becoming very remiss, in not posting on our lonely little thread, so thank you for helping to keep us going. I do hope that you and your family are well.
Well girls, I have started getting christmas presents. I have succeeded in buying for three of the grandchildren, only another ahem.....eight to buy for. The older ones no longer get presents thank goodness, as we now have nineteen to cater for, and the pension just doesn't go that far.
I must remember to get some wrapping paper, or little miss nosey Lilly will be snooping in the spare bedroom, thinking she can play with what we have bought her. Normally I get the christmas cards in the sales, but this year I forgot to get them, so I shall have to buy some this year.
Well girls, I hope you are all well. Sending all my best wishes to, Jean, Sallie, Ann, Sylvia, Marie, Huia,Joyce, Elizabeth and any friends I may have forgotten to mention. Take care of yourselves, Mo xxx

Hi Ann, I do hope the weather is better in the lake district than it is here. It has been raining hard all morning, thoroughly miserable. We have been spoilt by it being fine weather, and now complaining when we get a bit of rain, huh a typical brit response isn't it, never happy. I hope the wedding goes well tomorrow, and that the Wifi holds out for you all. Take care, best wishes Mo

Well we are back home, travelled back today. traffic was very heavy and there were several bits of the M6 which were congested. We still made quite good time though and it wasn't too bad.
The wedding was on Thursday which was the wettest day we had up there. It all went very well though, the hotel was excellent, they couldn't do enough for us. The bride looked really lovely and, even though most of the photos were indoors and they didn't have a professional photographer they seem to have come out very well. The bride and groom are now on honeymoon so have not seen the photos so none will be on the internet until after they have returened. Some photos were taken by the more adventurous among us of the bride and groom her under a red umbrella and he under a black one, very effective.
The meal was excellent - Tomato or leek soup, salmon en crout (or chicken or mushroom tagliatelle), and sticky toffee pudding and ice cream or creme brulee.
And the speeches went off well too.
The rest of the week was full on with all the family up there so daughter's apartment where we stayed seemed to have a procession of young family members including baby Luke and a couple of daughter's friends, in and out all day. Luke got very spoilt with his young uncle prepared to carry him everywhere and is apparently playing Mum and dad up today.
On the days we did get out the scenery (when the sun did shine) was as beautiful as ever. The trees are starting to turn and also all the ferns so it is very pretty.
Daughter and son in law are now finding it very quiet but they need a well deserved rest after us lot being there.

Welcome home Ann, It's nice to hear that the wedding went well. Photographers fees are so high, and we found that at our daughters wedding, that the guests photo's were in fact better than the professional ones, people were far more relaxed not having to stand to attention whilst the photographer got everyone in place. Little Luke would have been in his glory, having all the attention payed to him, but we never consider how they are going to act when all the attention is over, it must be like coming down from a high I dare say, and then we leave it to the parents to sort out. But hey, we have been there, done that and bought the T/Shirt haven't we. LOL We have got the rain that you experienced whilst you wre away, yet again today. Our shed door has swollen again, with all this wet weather, and is causing problems with opening and closing. It was fine all the time we had good weather, but the old problem is back again. Roly can't shave anymore of it, as we would have a gale force wind blowing through it. When it was installed, we thought that our friend had bought an exterior door, but no, it's an internal door and thats whats causing all the problems. The trouble is, they don't make external doors to the measurements that is needed to fit the frame, and poor Roly is not exactly a good carpenter. Knowing my luck, we would buy one that was miles to big, and it would end up small enough to fit a dolls house. LOL It's check up time on Thursday at the dentists, fingers crossed that I wont need any treatment. Bye for now folks, take care. Mo
