Dear Elizabeth, please dont use that swear word to me, H.u.e.o.k, tut tut dear lady, I am worn out even thinking about it. LOL
I do hope you and your family are having a fun weekend, weather permitting of course, if it's anything like it is here, well, welly boots and rain coats are in order, not nice at all.
My grandaughter Lilly is in her element mind you, splashing through puddles, is great fun when one is young, but not so nice when you are trying to avoid them whilst carrying bags of shopping.

Don't worry girls, I am wearing my mask, instead of coughing and spluttering all over my screen, yuk, this virus is driving me crazy.

Hugs to all, Mo

Hello to all my friends, I see you are busy with Shopping for Xmas .
I have not started yet.
I arrived home from Queensland last night I spent 15 days with my brother Neville and Glennes his wife, she is the lady who had a breast removed, so far all is well she has also had a knee reconstruction and is to have the other knee done in a few months time.
It was very very hot in Rockhampton I suffered and was very pleased to arrive home last night
I usually only visit in Winter but this time it was Neville and Glenne's 50th wedding Anniversary ,it will be some time before I visit again.

I will be away for Xmas I am off to my son Michael who lives in Castlemain in Victoria ,I am hoping it won't be too hot there.

Mo I received your Card, thank you very much it was here when I arrived home.

I will have to finish as this office of mine is becoming very hot.

Love to everyone and I hope you have a wonderful Xmas

Why hello Marie, welcome home.
Both Ann and myself left you messages on F.B, but I did notice that you had not logged out for a long long time, and wondered if everything was alright with you.
Would you like us to send you a little rain, and cold weather down the cyber hatch, as thats how it has been here.
Your sister in law sounds a very strong lady, undergoing the surgeries that she has, and has come out the other side well....god willing she will continue in the same vane.
How lovely for you, to share christmas with your son and family, I am sure you will enjoy yourself.
I really didn't expect the cards to arrive as early as they did, but it's nice to know that they got to there destinations in plenty of time. LOL
Hope to hear from you before Xmas love, but in the meantime, take care. Hugs Mo

Good to see you on here Marie and to know that youa re well. As Mo says it is chilly and wet here and forecast to remain so. At least we have not (yet) had the snow they have in USA. It looks horrendous there. Christmas shopping more or less finished and cards written. tomorrow we are hoping it is going to be drier than today as we want to go to the Victorian Market at Gloucester docks which is usually very good.

Mo, hope the cold/cough is beginning to clear up..

Jean, Sallie, hope you are both ok and not too cold. :-) :-)

Enjoy yourselves tomorrow Ann, and try not to overspend LOL

This darned cough is still hanging around Ann. Both Roly and myself start coughing at dinner time..5.00 p.m approx, perhaps it's the thought of burnt offerings for our meal that starts it off.

It wont be long now till our Christmas Dickens weekend starts, in Rochester and the Castle grounds, now that is a sight to behold, but oh so busy.
The police must dread it, coping with all the people, but the Dickension costumes are wonderful.

AnninGlos Report 22 Nov 2014 17:12

Sorry about the cough Mo, hope it clears up soon. OK I am copying this from the Welsh thread as I don't want to type it all out again.

Hi all
Well it was lashing down with rain when we got up this morning. However it stopped about 10am so we decided to catch the bus in to town. We had coffee in town first. As we walked through the town they must have had an artificial snow machine on top of the multi storey car park because as we walked into the shopping mall snowflakes were drifting down making everyone - especially the children - smile. We then walked down to the docks to the Victorian market. I have never, ever, seen so many people in that area, it was heaving. There were a lot more stalls there this year as well and they all seemed to be doing a good trade. I reckon there could have been close on 200 stalls there, craft and food most of them. all we bought were three different cheeses, a large pork pie and some wild boar pate. There were a lot of jewellery stalls and unusual Christmas tree decorations, nuts, sweets, curry sauces, roast pork rolls. Fascinating when you could actually fight your way to get near them. They had a few fairground rides, carousel, big wheel, helter skelter, swing boats. And all the stall holders were in Victorian dress.

We also went round the outlet centre which also seemed to be doing a good trade judging by the queue in M&S. We didn't have a hope of getting lunch in the Quays area with all those people as well as people arriving for the cimema. So we walked back and had lunch in Prezzo. Theyw ere busy but coped and we had a pleasant lunch. And it didn't rain at all again all day. :-) :-) :-)

Oooh it sounds wonderful Ann, the atmosphere must have been electric.
To be honest I don't like it when there are too many people milling around, I get claustrophobic, and want to get away from the area.

We had an emergency phone call from our son today, our grandaughter Lilly, was really naughty, and had pulled the front from the double electric socket.
Our son was at work, and fortunately our son in law had a spare socket, so good old grandad had to rush over and do an emergency repair job.
Understandably, we were concerned in case she touched the cables inside.
Lilly has got such a temper on her now, but we still think she is attention seeking most of the time, but today she kicked out at the socket for no apparant reason, and broke it.
If she is put on the....naughty step, she just gets up and walks away. The trouble is, nowadays parents are scared to smack a child for fear of come backs.
My children got a smack, when they were really naughty, but I must emphasise a smack, not a beating, and they have all grown up, decent, polite individuals, who treat others with respect.

At the moment, we are trying to get tickets for New Years Eve, at the same venue we went to last year. If it comes off, there will be at least 12 of us attending, such a wonderful way for Roly to celebrate his birthday.

Hello girls, not been on here for a a short while, I have been trying to get a bit more done towards Christmas, also my cousin living in N Wales came last Sunday morning and stayed with us for three days. I was lovely to have her here, we went out Christmas shopping each day and also to Ikea, so between the both of us we had a good shopping spree.LOL!!

Only have Alun's and Christie's presents left to get and a few more more bits and
bobs for Jennie. I shall be glad when it is all done and dusted.

Mo, oh dear I hope that Lilly was okay and that the socket is now sorted. Gosh, she must be quite a strong little lady to have been able to do that. I also think that most of the time that Lilly is attention seeking....let;s hope that she will soon get out of that phase.

Bless her! Has she asked ' Santa ' for anything special for Christmas yet?

Ann, sounds as though you and T had an enjoyable time at the Victoria Market today, with a nice lunch in Prezzo afterwards.

Jean, hope that J is feeling better and that you are also continuing to improve.

Also hope that D is okay and haven't picked up any bugs and viruses.

Marie, lovely to see you on here, pleased to know that all is well with you and yours.

Hope to speak to you again before Christmas, take care of yourself.

It's a good while since we heard from Jeni, Huia and Sylvia.Hope that they are all okay.

Will speak to you all soon, take care of yourselves ladies.

Love and best wishes .

Mo in Kent Report 23 Nov 2014 17:58

Ooh Sallie how wonderful for you having your cousin staying. I bet the shops were rubbing their hands together when you both walked in.
No doubt you visited a craft shop whilst you were out and about.
Yes our Lilly is very strong, to look at her, you would think she was a lot older than she is, she's wearing clothes for a six year old when she is coming up for four years old.
She is very stocky for her age, and has often nearly had me on my BTM, when she rushes at me when we arrive at their house. Anyone would think she had not seen me in a long time, with all the kisses and cuddles she showers me with.
She has not really asked for anything particular for Xmas, just everything she sees on the T.V lol.
We have got her a new doll, that feeds and wets itself, thats if she doesn't get it onto the potty quick enough.
A pushchair, and a couple of other small bits.

Oooh cheeky moo Jean, calling me an oldy, there's me just turned into a teenager.....well mentally I am, or so I have been told lol
I am sorry to hear that poor J, is suffering still, and having the abcess is so painful for him. The abcess has probably come up, because he is run down, bless him.
Lets hope and pray that he is feeling better before christmas.

I don't know about where you all live, but today has been awful, it has been tipping it down with rain all day.
Still we must not complain, the weather has been milder this year, thus far, than normal.

Hello there Elizabeth, thanks for popping in, good to hear from you love.

Lets hope we hear from Ann, Sylvia, Huia and Marie soon, it's a worry when there is no news from them. Wouldn't it be nice to hear from Liz, and Joyce before christmas as well.

Take care my friends, Mo

Ha Ha Ann and Jean, you have sussed me out, I lost my marbles a long time ago.
The trouble with me is, that I don't check the dates of the postings, and as I spoke to Ann, following her post, I thought it was from the day before, lol, see I am as mad as a hatter, but you wouldn't have me any other way would you.
Sending you all <3 <3 <3

Hi Mo, and everyone

some times I think I'm chasing my tail, as the saying goes :-)

It is only a little over 2½ weeks before we leave to go to our daughter's for Christmas .................... we're going both ways by train of course, so that means 6 days travelling each way, and then 10 days over there. We're staying in a hotel this time.

So ................... I don't have to buy any food, we're not decorating the house, we're not buying Christmas cards but just sending out a Christmas letter, and we're not even buying many presents. The Christmas pud that daughter likes us to take was made 2 years ago, and has been in the freezer ever since.

so why do I feel as if I am spinning in ever smaller circles? :-S

OH and I decided not to buy each other any gifts ............. we have everything we want or might even need. Daughter has requested a certain gift, and I will buy that on-line for delivery to her house. She has bought MJ's present from us as she knew exactly what he wanted and (most importantly!) where to get it.

Her husband and the young nieces and nephews will get money as usual, to use as they want.

Her husband's sister and niece will not be there this year ............. they're going to visit parents/grandparents in Florida for a change ....... so no searching for suitable presents for someone I don't know at all well.

My head is still spinning and I'm feeling panicky!

take care everyone
