Hello girls,

Jean, all the best for tomorrow, hope all goes well for you with no problems. Will be thinking about.
At least with your appointment being early it will be over and done with, so that you can then go home and have a rest and relax

Only just seen your pm, thanks for the email, will have a look at them as soon as I have finished writing this.

Mo, I was wondering the other day if you were still playing darts. It would be a shame if you had to give up playing, but as you said you don't want to let your team down. Trouble is, you enjoy playing darts too, so will miss the social side of it too.

Ann, hope that things are okay with you and T and all your family.

It was a nice day here yesterday, bit of a cold wind to start with in the morning, but it soon brightened up, so managed to get a line full of clothes dried..Also got a few jobs done in the house and then made some cards, so it was a busy day.

Well the wedding went well on Friday, it was dry all day with some sunshine, but with a cold wind.

We enjoyed the day, it was nice to see and chat to some people that we hadn't seen for a long while.

The brides dress was was lovely, it was white, long with a train, with no veil , with just a pretty diamante hair band on her head. There were three bridesmaids all wearing a lovely shade of purple dresses and a flower girl in a pretty long white dress, they all also wore pretty diamante hair bands. Chloe and Gracie the brides daughters, were the chief bridesmaid and flower girl, respectively
. Laura and Phil, decided that as they had the girls taking part in the wedding, that they wanted to have their son as Best Man, he is only two and a half. He was very good and sat in the chair next to Phil, and was quite happy to keep the rings in the boxes in his pockets, but once they took the rings, he started to cry, I think he thought that they were his to keep.lolol!! But he soon stopped crying and didn't bother any more about them.

By the time we got home both Alun and I were shattered, it's lovely going to a wedding, but it is long day.

Well girls, will say goodnight now and will speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie. xxx

Well ladies, I am going shortly to have a biopsy in my mouth the very nice doctor said he didnt think it was much to worry about but felt to be sure it isnt cancer it would be advisable to have it sorted once and for all, so just waiting now for the appointment :-(

What with the other one a[ready booked for the 20th of march , whats the betting it will be on the same day.....: :-D :-D :-D ah well we shall see one day all will be well...

Sallie the wedding sounded lovely , and I bet you looked lovely too any pics please <3 <3

Mo, sorry to hear about your darts being hard to do, can you use a glove type thingy to help the pain...I find my hand is very shaky when i do some intricate crafting.... but mine is because I am very old ;-) ;-) ;-)

hope every one else is doing o.k. its pouring down here but quite warm....

take care you lovely lot <3 <3 <3 <3

Love and lots of hugs Jean xxx <3

Hope you don't have to wait too long for the biopsy appointment Jean. If that was a specialist, why couldn't the biopsy be done then? How strange.

anyway, onwards and upwards.

Sallie, pleased the wedding went off well, the bridesmaids sounded pretty. I thought it was saturday, forgot it was friday. Saturday would have been a lovely day for a wedding here.

Mo, it will be a shame if you have to give up darts. Would a strap type brace help?

Mo in Kent Report 9 Mar 2015 18:33

Oooh thank goodness Jean my lovely,if the doctor thinks it's nothing to worry about, then try not to sweetheart.
It seems that it always takes so long for Appointments to come through, and then like buses arrive at least two at a time.

I have got a support for my thumb and wrist girls, but am unable to grip my darts with it on. It does help to ease the pain, but is a bit cumbersome (sp).

Sallie, it sounds like the wedding went down a treat. I bet the bridesmaids looked a treat, the combination of the purple and white dresses must have looked lovely.
Aaah bless the little man getting upset when he had to hand the rings over. When children get upset like that, it really pulls at the heart strings doesn't it.

One day this week, we are getting the roof on our kitchen extension re-done, and the guttering and fascia boards replaced, more expense, but nowadays, if you want to move, you need all the paperwork to prove what work has been done, not that we intend to move mind you.
Now we are just waiting for the builders to give us a day, they have said they will start one day this week, but who knows what day that will be.

Hello Ann, Sylvia, Marie and Huia, I hope you are all well.
Bye for now girls, hugs Mo xxx

He said about two weeks, just about the time I have the other one ;-) ;-) ;-)

Reading the book they give you the after effects are worse than the actual biopsy.

should be fun ........

Hi everyone

Jean ............... it'll soon be over :-D

it's my grandson's 5th birthday today ............. but they had the party on Saturday

Mum and Dad rented a room in the canoe club clubhouse (which is less than 5 minutes walk away from their house), so no messing of the house.

Little one's honorary aunt (who will "inherit" him if anything happens to his parents) made his birthday cake .........................

Daughter sent me a photo of it ............

4 cubes of Lego .................. 2 blue, 1 red and 1 yellow :-D

He's mad about Lego :-D

But the mind plays funny games ;-) ;-) ;-)

My neighbours did a party for the little one like that all the stress and strain was taken over and everyone had a great time...... modern way of doing things, .....and we were not blocked in by inconsiderate car parkers ;-) ;-) ;-)

hope you and your family are all doing well....

Hi girls.

Jean, hope that you will get an appointment very soon and that everything will be fine It.will be nice to get both appointments all over and done with.

We didn't take any photos ourselves. but a friend of Michael's mum, who was also in the wedding took some and of course, the photographer they hired for the wedding. As soon as we get some photos I'll let you all see them.

Sylvia, I can't get over that your grandson is five already, it doesn't seem so long since he was born. Time seems to be passing by so quickly. I feel as I get older the quicker time goes by.

His birthday cake sounds really lovely, I bet he was thrilled with it.

Mo, lets's hope that they will come and do the roof sooner rather than later this week and that you will have a dry day for it.

Were you able to play darts tonight? Hope you were able to and with no problems.

Ann, yes Saturday would have been the nicer day for the wedding. Chloe was shivering when they were taking the photographs,it would have been nice if she had had a stole or maybe a small cape to put on, if not to have the photos in, but to put on while standing about.

Well I am going to have a hot drink now, so will speak to you all tomorrow.

Love, Sallie. xxx

Mo in Kent Report 10 Mar 2015 18:11

Good evening girls.

Sylvia, it seems the norm these days, for parents to hold birthday parties at venues outside of the home.
I suppose it does save on the clearing up afterwards, but I truly believe that the old fashion way is best.
Lots of jelly and ice cream, sandwiches squashed into carpets, crisps scattered over the furniture, and juice spilt everywhere. Lol Perhaps not.
My children were treated to these delights, and myself left to clear the debris afterwards.
Where as my grandchildern, are and were taken to places like Wimpy or Mc Donalds, and the staff cleared up after them and their friends.
Our Lilly will be five this year, and is due to start school in September, my how time flies by.

Sallie, it will be lovely to see the photo's of you, and the bride and groom at the wedding.
I no longer play darts on a monday night, our team disbanded at the end of the last season, because of lack of players, but I do still play on a Thursday night, well I do at the moment anyway.

We are still waiting for either a phone call, or e.mail letting us know when they will start our work.
I am not sure how long it will take them to do the work we need, but it's Wednesday tomorrow, and if it takes two or three days to do the job, it will take us up to the weekend.

I have forgotten to give you an update on my friend Florence. If you remeber, she had the Cancer in her nose, and had to have her nose removed last year.
Well, the cavity is still not healed properly, so East Grinstead hospital cannot fit the magnetic screws, for her prothesis, so she is having to glue the ones on that she has been given.
Bless her, she has not been out of the house at all, since her operation, apart from hospital visits, she is so worried in case her nose should fall off, or even move.
But believe me, if you didn't know she was wearing a prothesis, you would never guess she was.
It is going to take a lot to get her out of the house, her self esteem has hit rock bottom. and as we know, once the black dog has taken a hold, it's hard to shake it off.

Well my lovelies, I will say cheerio for now, speak to you tomorrow. Hugs Mo xxx

Sallie Report 10 Mar 2015 23:55

Mo, I have been thinking about Florence and meaning to ask about her for a while. What a shame the wound hasn't fully healed yet, so that she can have the screws fitted. No wonder she is depressed and has no self esteem. How long is it since she had her operation? It must be a fair while now.

Trouble is, she needs to try and go out and about, so that it will help her depression and help build her confidence, so she can start to move forward again, but as you know Mo,it is a lot easier said than done when suffering from depression and anxiety. I suspect that she is also suffering from anxiety too.

I really feel for her, it is difficult enough to start to move forward, without the awful problem she has. Please give her my very best wishes and that I am thinking about her. Hope that the wound will soon heal, so that she can start the road back to living life as she use to.

Thanks for letting me know how she is getting on.

I have been making cards again today, still have quite a few to make. Since yesterday morning I have a problem with my right hand, the middle finger to my little finger has gone numb, although it isn't as bad as it was yesterday. Trouble is, it slows up my card making and some other jobs I want to do.

Gosh, I can't get over that Lilly will also be five this year, I didn't realise that Sylvia's grandson and Lilly were born the same year. Where on earth is the time going?.

Like you Mo, I always did the R and J'' birthday parties at home, I loved doing them. I was lucky that a few of my friends would help me to clear it away afterwards.

Hello to, Jean, Ann, Sylvia, Huia and Marie, hope that you are all okay.

Well, I will speak to you all tomorrow.

Sleep tight.

Love, Sallie. xxx

Sallie, I very often wish I was abidextrous (sp) then I wouldn't suffer with so much pain. I know how frustrating it is for you, when you want to get on with your card making, and the fingers wont let you.
We have three grandchildren who are mainly left handed, but can use their right hand when needed.
Florences operation was over a year ago now, but unfortunately, her age is against the healing process, or so they tell her.
She had a growth in her hairline, and that was removed and sent away for biopsy, but thank the lord the result were benign.

Anyone fancy beef casserole, roast potao's, peas, carrotts and sprouts for dinner, you are most welcome to come and share it with us.
It will be ready at five p.m, so come and join us, or I can send it down the cyber hatch for you, but it may be a bit messy by the time it arrives.

Hugs to all, Mo xxx

Yes, childrens parties at home were the norm when ours were young. Can't say I particularly enjoyed them but i wouldn't have not had them for the world, they always loved them. Some of Grandson's parties were held at home in the late 80s early 90s but then they started going to adventure places that hosted the parties and that saved the home from being wrecked by little boys. However, it was really noisy as there were always more than one party going on at once. I do remember that the 9th party was the last my son had, they were so hard to control at that age, not like little gorls.

Sallie do you think you have trapped a nerve? Could it be something like Tenosinivitis (sp) which is like typists used to get.

Gosh Mo, Lily is five, time certainly flies. Your poor friend, It must be awful for her and no way to build her confidence up. I hope there is a solution soon.

Morning ladies, bit of a damp morning so far, S came round yesterday and spent all afternoon with J or better known as Gramps, there is a lovely bond between them, J is more like S dad, they both watch the racing and that gave me a great excuse to take to my crafting, I made several special cards, and Ann I have left a great tip on the cardmaking thread ;-) ;-) ;-)

D is now in the hot sunshine in Florida, :-| :-| two weeks away which gives us a break too :-D :-D :-D

Hair permed this afternoon,so then i can show my face outside ;-) ;-)
I must have the worst hair ever :-| :-| very thin and wispy... cant manage it myself ..

hope your hand gets easier Mo and Sallie I get cramp in my fingers when i do a lot of crafting so have a few minutes break, J was worried when his fingers went white
as though the blood wasnt getting through, He put them in warm water and slowly the feeling came back. cant explain why, .

see you all later, breakfast calls :-D :-D

Love to you all Jean xxx <3

Oooh Jean, lucky D being over in the lovely warm weather in Florida. Mind you, it's be a lovely sunny day here, but that wind is still very chilly.
I managed to get all my washing dry outside again. Isn't it funny how small things, like getting the washing dried is such a pleasing feeling, it doesn't take much does it. LOL
I bet you are looking very glamorous now, with your hair nicely done.

Ann, I had a little chuckle when you said that girls were easier to manage than boys, I am sure that our Lilly should have been a boy, she loves to fight with the boys, and climbs better than a lot of the boys she plays with.
And as for her being good at parties, she is the first one to start a chasing game, and all the children join in, wether they are girls or boys.
When I look at photographs of her dressed in her bridesmaids dress, she looks like a little angel. But within a short space of time after the photo being taken, she is covered in whatever will stick to her, she seems to attract dust and dirt. LOL

We went to visit Florence today, and bless her, she has got a stinking cold. How on earth can she catch a cold when she never leaves the house.
Her son must have bought the germs back with him, after doing the shopping, and yet he doesn't have a cold...strange.

So it's Mothers day this sunday, have any of you got anything special planned.
I daresay my family will be coming over on Saturday, as they are all mums themselves, or dads with children, they will want to celebrate at home on Sunday, and I don't blame them.

Bye for now my friends, take care. Hugs Mo xxx

Jean, many years ago I had that problem with the fingers going white in cold weather, I still do. The doc called it Reynauds phenomenon. Apparently that is why I proved allergic to one lot of eyedrops. Try googling Reynauds phenomena (or disease).

Hello ladies.

Just a quick post, wondering if you are all okay. Sorry not posted for a few days, I have been busy card making, trying to get the cards finished for the March birthdays so that I can start on something else.

Jean, thank you for what you sent, once I get myself organised with the cards I need to do, I will have a go at making a card out of them. Have you made a card using them, yet?

Elizabeth, thank you for your good wishes for the weekend to us all. Hope that you and your family are all enjoying your weekend too.

Ann, I know that both you and T are due to go to Cornwall soon, but not sure when.

Over the years Alun have suffered several times with a trapped nerve in hand, not only did his hand go numb and with pins and needles, it was also painful at times, so I don't think it is that.

Huia, hope that you are okay and that you had a good weekend.

Mo, did your family come to see you today , for Mothers Day? Jennie and Michael are coming for Sunday lunch, as usual tomorrow, nothing else planned though. It is also the Ides of March and Richard's birthday tomorrow, he will be 33, Christie has made him a four layer cake, for it, wish we were down there to have a slice of it..

Sylvia, hope that you and OH are okay and that the weather is not too bad for you there.

Marie, how are things with you and your family?. I hope that you are all well.

Take care everyone and hope that you all have a lovely Mothers Day.
