Hello girls,
Ann, I didn't realise that you and T were off on holiday again so soon, it will be nice for you both to have your daughter's company for this holiday, as I'm sure she will enjoy having yours.
Alun had the echocardiogram on Saturday morning, apparently they have had to resort to doing them on Saturday as well as weekdays, as there are so many to do.
Mo. the person who did the ' echo ' told Alun that he was going to get the results off to our doctor that day,so he should have them by either Monday or Tuesday, and that he should be in touch with him this week.and that if the doctor hasn;t got in touch with him within 14 days, Alun was to ring the surgery. I hope that he will be in touch with Alun, sooner rather than later.
Alun is thinking that ever since he had the flu jab just before Christmas, he seems to have had one thing after another, so is wondering if the jab has anything to do with it.
Jean, yes I agree with you, it's the waiting for the results that get to us,. but it isn't always easy, is it?
I expect you will be pleased to have D back home. Which day is she due to arrive home? Hope she's had a great time there.
I have finished all the birthday cards for the March birthdays and have made a start on the Easter cards, so am pleased with myself as I haven't been able to do so many for a very long time.
Huia, nice to hear from you and to know that you are getting along okay. You must have some lovely memories to look back on and to treasure over the 56 years of your and Phil's marriage.
It's a shame about the internet, but you must come first and must have the medical alarm. I know my uncle had one as he was living on his own for a few years before he died, although thankfully he never had any need to use it.
Sylvia, hope that both you and OH are okay. Have they still got snow where your daughter lives?
Marie, hope that all is well with you and your family.
Well, I must go to bed now,so will chat again tomorrow.
Goodnight to all our friends.
Take care.
Love, Sallie. xxx

Hello , this is Marie from OZ calling in. I seem to be very short of time now it must be old age I guess it takes longer to do everything now. I am well and I hope that you are all the same.
We are having a lovely drop of rain to-day Tuesday the 24th March we are having lovely Autumn. The days have been Warn to hot and most nights cool ,Lovely to have a good sleep. Our weather will probably change now that we have had rain,it almost always turns cold after Easter.
I still do the Gym on Tuesday and Thursdays mind you I have noticed in the past year that I cannot do as much as I used too, and my memory is not as good either, old age is catching up to me ,I have been trying to out run him for Years.
We have a State Election on next weekend fancy having it on at Easter.,Not one of the parties are worth voting for none of them have the money to do what they Promise. My Son Ryan who is a keen cyclist had an Accident at the weekend and lost his 2 front teeth I hope they saved them and put them in milk so that they could be replaced .They tell me he rode in the competition the next day., that is dedication ?? or sheer madness me thinks.
Love to you all

Good morning to you all, although looking out it is quite foggy, but the forecast says it should clear soon.... hope so I have my hair done later on... :-D :-D Marie good to hear from you , you seem to be doing o.k. I hope your sons teeth can be saved although I do admire his attitude , maybe I should take the same thoughts, ;-) ;-) I cant cope with things so well these days, ....... Ann , I have added to your blog and also on the cardmaking thread... I had intended to take the cards to the hospice in time for the fete and missed it :-S :-S :- so will take them to one of the shops instead...
I should have questioned why the biopsy wasnt done , but only thought of it later on.... I will however mention it when I finally get to go.. :-| :-| I felt as though I was being used as a practice for a young lady doctor.. the old mind doesnt work as well as it used to do :-S just a wasted journey and a lot of stress.......
Sallie , lovely to hear you are back doing your cards, I have been just fiddling with colouring, some stamped cards, pics taken , a job for D when she gets home. I think its thursday when she gets back... just had a text off her its raining :-D :-D :-D so they stayed in yesterday.... its been over 30c most days, so will perhaps be a bit cooler now.... I gave her a list of crafts stuff to get if she could but wont hold my breath. the craft stores are wonderful in the usa at least the one we went in . but that was many moons ago......
take care my lovely friends Love Jean xx

Hello all, yes, off again soon, then the cruise in June. We didn't intend to be away three times so close together, it just happened. Although we haven't been on holiday since last September.
Mo do you have medication for the osteo A? I had pains in my left thumb and hand last week and wondered if it was arthritis starting. It seems ok at the moment. I also get pains in my right ankle/foot so mostly keep it strapped.
Marie, good to see you. Gym???? Oh yes I remember that, stopped that game about 18 years ago!! Glad that you are keeping well anyway. Shame about your son's teeth, I lost my two front teeth through abscess in pregnancy when I was 21 it is very inconvenient at that age.
Jean, hope the fog clears for your hair appointment. Pity you didn't ask about the biopsy, they might have just missed the fact it was supposed to be done. I saw your remarks on the blog thanks, glad you liked the photos. when it rains in Florida it really rains. Hope D has a safe journey home
Sallie, good luck to Alun for the results then. I haven't made any cards since we got home, too many other things to do. Before we went away I made 40 for two charities so a rest is good. My Easter cards are all made as well. :-) :-)

Well hello girls, nice to hear from you all.
Ann, my G.P originally put me on tablets for my friend Arthur, but they didn't make any difference, so for years I have just tolerated it. I was put on Calcium tablets to increase the bone density, but they caused other problems, so they got knocked on the head as well. Thank goodness I have got a high pain tolerance, but there are days when it does get me down.
Jean, I walked to my hairdressers this morning, in the pouring rain, to get my hair cut. Tomorrow, I must put a colour on it, the grey is greater than the rest of my natural colour now. And I want it done ready for Ava's christening on Easter Sunday.
Marie, age is a terrible thing to have to contend with. Our minds tell us one thing, and our bodies another. I want to paint my bedroom, and through the lounge and dining room, but, my body is telling me WHOA girl, you aint as young as you were, and will the Arthritus allow me to do it. It's all the wrist action that worries me, and wether my joints will allow for it to get done in the time I want it be done in. I hope they are able to save Ryans teeth, losing front teeth is not good for ones morale. Being able to give a nice smile is wonderful, but lack of front teeth would not make you feel like smiling would it.
Sallie, I agree with Alun about the last flu jab. Since we had it, we have had nothing but the blessed virus that will not completely go away, we start to get over it, and wham the cough starts again, the nose runs, and we feel rough again. When we have had it other years, it has not affected us like this. Fingers toes and everything else crossed for Aluns results, that they come back soon, but then, no news is good news my love.
Well from a soggy Mo, I will say cheerio for now my friends. Take care. Mo xxx

Hi Mo, and everyone
it's in "rain mode" here .................. cloudy, showers, sun peeps out, clouds over, pours with rain :-)
Daughter had some more snow over the weekend ............... and most of the schools were closed yesterday (Monday) so they could get all the snow cleared away from the doors and walkways, and make it safe for staff and students.
That's called having a "snow day" :-D
Mo ................ I had had osteoarthritis since the mid-80s .................. I take Tylenol every day. That's our equivalent of your paracetamol.
I also go to physio ................ and had a series of physio visits back in the early 1990s for my hand, and those really helped to keep the range of motion.
I have also used hand and wrist supports.
It might help your hand ................. check at your pharmacy to see if they have any hand and wrist wraps.

Hello there Sylvia. I have got a wrist and thumb strap that I do use, but put a tubi- grip bandage under it as it makes me sweat, and then itch....can't win can I LOL. Your schools have a snow day, ours have teacher training days, but our neighbours, who are both teachers at different schools, never seem to attend them, so maybe they have at home training days, I don't know. How does your daughter manage when the school closes, does little man go to a minder ? We are still waiting to see what school our Lilly will be allocated to in September, thats if they can lock her in, so she can't escape that is. I am sure she was a Harry Houdina scholar in a former life. She is a real little pickle, but we love her to bits.

Hello everyone,.
Mo, I'm sure that if Alun mentions his thoughts about the flu jab to the doctor, he will disagree with him. LOL!
Alun got a phone call on Tuesday afternoon, telling him that the doctor would like to see him to discuss his results with him, so he has an appointment for Monday afternoon. Not sure what to make of hearing from him so soon.....we usually have to ring the surgery ourselves to get any results, whatever they are.
I rang my friend this evening to wish her ' good luck' with her MRI scan tomorrow. She had a cancerous lump removed from her left leg last year, then when she went for a check up they found another one, so she had that removed too.So she is worried that it might have come back again even though it was clear after her last operation and treatment.
Marie,. nice to hear from you, you certainly sound as though you are a very busy lady. I hope that your grandson is recovering okay after his accident.
Jean, hope D will have a good and safe journey home. I expect you will all have a good chinwag when she gets home, catching up on each others news.
Have you heard any more about the assessments you need
Ann, Sylvia and Huia, hope that you are all okay.
I am off to bed now, so will speak to you all soon.
Take care.

Sallie, try not to worry love. If it was really really urgent, the doctor would have asked to see Alun straight away I would have thought. Perhaps the doctor wants to get Alun onto medications soon as possible. Bless you darling, I know how worrying it can be, waiting like this is a nightmare.
Must go and get my bath now, only got just over an hour before going to darts. Take care girls, hugs, Mo xxx

Hi Mo, I'm sure you are right, the doctor would have wanted to see him straight away if it was really bad. I keep telling myself that, but now and again the negative thoughts keep coming back. Part of my problem is that I find it difficult to look on the positive side of things just in case it all goes pear shaped. LOL! I have been like that since my father died in 1981
Did you enjoy your night out at darts last night? Hope that your hand is a bit better than it's been lately.
Jean, got your pics last night, your cards are lovely as usual, Thanks for sending them to me.
Hope D is feeling less tired today, so that you and J have been able to hear all about her holiday.
Have a nice weekend everyone and take care of yourselves.

I know how you feel Sallie, but trust in the Lord, for me its the only way I can come to terms with what is going on, one thing I have decided to do is cancell the oral biopsy its just the same as before and at my age I refuse to live my life spending what few years I may have left going to and fro to clinics, when I get the other date for the other biopsy I shall cancel that too so there :-P :-P :-P :-P time I started to live a little so stuff it all.... :-D :-D :-D :-D we have a choice and I have made mine...
Glad you liked the cards but my hand shook when I took two ,so please excuse them.... definitley a senior moment....I now have a tote bag with pockets all round it and several inside, now all the stuff I use to glue ,cut , sccissors craft knives etc;, and stick stuff to my cards are close at hand ,should have got one ages ago , it would have saved me getting up to get something I needed, also I am in the middle of putting a unit together the will hold some of my liquid pealrs and glitter glues, all neat and tidy.... ;-) ;-) ;-) I have just made two mans cards for a 70 year old for a friend... Its quite hard to come up with ideas for mens cards. so I will have a look around to see if I can find anything.
Holding you and Alun close in my heart and prayers for a good outcome.. <3 <3 <3
love and hugs to everyone Love Jean xxx <3 <3 <3

Hi girls,
Just having a quick look in, hope that you are all enjoying a peaceful weekend.
Mo and Jean, thanks for your thoughts for Alun, he isn't too worried abut the results, as he says, worrying isn't going to change anything.....what will be, will be.
Stayed in this morning and got some housework done, then we went to the Range this afternoon and then called back in Morrisons. I was glad to get home, it was very noisy in the Range, with children screaming and running about.
Jean, I don't .blame you for not bothering to have the two biopsies done, if you are not having any symptoms and feel alright, I would think there is nothing too much to worry about.
I must go and make our dinner now, so speak to you later.

Huia, I will try and take a look at your F.B page love.
A big hello to all, I hope you are well.
It's our little ones christening this Sunday. We have bought her a little cross and chain, the same as we did Lilly, her big sister. Lets hope that she doesn't cry during the ceremony, as she is teething again, and is a bit grumpy at the moment.
Hugs to all, Mo xxx

Hello girls.
Mo, thanks for asking about Alun, the Echocardiogram showed that there is a moderate to severe leakage of the mitral valve, so the doctor is going to refer him to a Heart Specialist. There is about a two month waiting list for an appointment, so it's another waiting game, which is pretty usual all over the country,. for everyone these days.
Alun also told the doctor about the cough, that he still has, so as he has had it since the end of December, so after asking several questions, the doctor gave him a prescription for antibiotics.
I bet you are looking forward to the Christening on Sunday, hope it all goes well and that it will be a dry, bright and sunny day.
I know you were going to look for something to wear for it.......hope you managed to find what you wanted.
Huia, lovely to hear from you. I don't go on Facebook, so hope that you will still come on here when you are able to.
Ann, thank you for your Easter card, it arrived this morning. I'm posting mine tomorrow, hope everyone will get them. Really late making them this year.
Jean, Sylvia and Marie, hope that you are all okay.
Will chat to you again tomorrow.
Take care .

Sallie, I had an annoying scratchy cough which doc and I decided was possibly caused by reflux from my hiatus hernia irritating the throat. She adjusted my medication and added another tablet (shake, rattle and roll). Now I rarely get the cough. Does Alun suffer from heartburn?

Sallie,I am sorry to hear that Alun needs to see a specialist. But he will be in the best hands possible, and they do miracles these days, as I found out following my brothers triple bypass. Years ago, there was not the treatment and care that there is these days. I feel sure that if my dad, had been offered the treatment now, back in 1977, he would have had many more years of life. Hopefully the anti-biotics will hep with Aluns cough, especially if he is coughing up mucus. Normally if we have just a tickly cough, our GP wont give us anti b's, but if its productive he will.
Not going to bother to buy myself a new outfit Sallie, but will have a look for a coat tomorrow. I shall wear the outfit I bought for new years eve, and dress it down instead of up.
It does seem strange it still being light at 7.00 p.m, and not having to put the table lamps on. I will say bye for now girls, take care. Mo xxx
