Zack Report 10 Apr 2015 05:33

Hi Everyone,
It is nice to hear you all had a lovely Easter. I spent a lot of the week at the Cathedral at the Various Masses and Prayer sessions we have.
The Services were Lovely and the singing was beautiful I was rather tired by Holy Saturday so I had a rest and went to 10 am Mass on the Sunday.

I noticed that Mo said that Ann & Sallie, were addicts and she was a paint addict well I am sure I am a Gardening addict.I have been trying to rid my front Lawn of the pesky couch grass for months, it is hard work and I spend so much time on it I had hoped to have it finished by now and the new lawn in , but I have only managed to get half of it done and now our winter is coming on, so I may have to give it away until spring pokes it head in, which probably wont be till October.

I have just received a call from my granddaughter to tell me that Kerry my daughter who was on her way home to Foster has had a car accident apparently a motorcyclist drove out and around her and then suddenly stopped at the lights and she was unable to stop and she has hit him and written off the new 4 door utility.

She had her expensive sewing machines in the ca,r also her little dog, I think Kerry is ok but very shaken up,I will have to wait for more news.
I do hope she was not at fault,I do not think she would have been as she is a careful driver.

Love and Hugs to you all and the best of health and I hope your Summer arrives soon <3 :-\ <3

Sallie Report 11 Apr 2015 01:21

Marie, lovely to see you post,it's always nice to hear from you. Sounds as though you had a busy Easter with all the different masses at the Cathedral..

Yes, you are right, Ann, Jean and myself are definitely addicted to card making and Mo to painting the rooms in her house, so it's good to have you join us on this thread as our gardening addict. lol!!

Marie, I hope that your daughter hasn't been hurt too badly and also that her little dog is okay. Also hope that the motorcyclist isn't badly hurt too.Thinking about your
daughter and hoping that all will turn out well after her accident.

Sylvia, good to know that you and OH are getting along okay. I can't get over that your daughter is still having snow where she lives.

It's been a lovely bright and sunny day here and fairly warm, it's nice to be able to peg the washing out to dry.

Jean, hope that you can get someone to decorate for you soon. If you are like me, once I decide that a room needs painting, I can't wait long, I want it done soon. Alun tells me that I am too impatient. lol!!

When Alun went to the doctors for his medication review, his blood pressure was a bit high, so he has to go again on Tuesday, he doesn't normally have a problem with
his blood pressure, like I do. I'm thinking he might be a bit anxious about seeing the Specialist.

Mo. how are you doing with the decorating? Hope it's coming along okay.

Our living room needs freshening up, but we have to leave it for a short while as Jennie and Michael are moving in with us next week, so there is no point until their furniture is in. Not sure how long they will be here, but they are finding it difficult to manage, as Michael is only on a low wage.

Luckily we have separate dining room so they can use it as their living room. We have already moved a few bits of furniture from the dining room into other rooms, we only need to move the dining table into the living room now.Thank goodness our
rooms are a good size that we are able to do it the way we are.

Ann; if you are looking in, hope that you are all enjoying your holiday in Spain.

Huia, have you managed to do any more of your veranda? Well done if you have, but take care and try not to overdo things.

Elizabeth, hope that all is well with you and your family. Hope that you all have an enjoyable and peaceful weekend.

Goodnight to everyone and hope that you will all have a good weekend.

Take care.

Love, Sallie. xxx <3 <3 <3

Huia Report 12 Apr 2015 09:54

I finished the basic scrubbing of the verandah, and have now sprayed some of that stuff on the parts with the worst stain. Seem to have got most of the staining off. I will do the rest of the verandah when we have a dull day when I am at home - whenever that might be. I dont want to land on my back this winter.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 12 Apr 2015 19:34

Huia, it must be a nightmare having to scrub that verandah every year, and very hard work for you each time.
Is it like a green algae ? We are lucky that we have got the pressure washer to clean our decking down, so not such hard work for us.

Marie, I do hope your daughter is o.k, following the accident.
What a shame about the Ute being damaged. Have they another vehicle they can use, whilst theirs is being repaired.?

Sylvia, I can't believe your poor daughter is still snowed in. It must be weeks since it all started.
I hope your rain didn't last long, and that you are now enjoying some nicer weather.

It has been a lovely day here today, we are sooo lucky here in the south east of the U.K.
My daughter bought me a new mobile phone today. Oh boy, what fun I am going to have, trying to fathom out how the darned thing works.
It's a touch phone, and me being so heavy handed, is a nightmare. She said for me to try and send her a text, I nearly PMSL, it took me a good fifteen minutes just trying to send " Hi Love, it's me". When I touched to keys,it was typing the wrong letters, oh lord I don't think I shall be sending many txts.

I will say bye for now girls, take care love, Mo xxx

Good luck with the rest of the decking Huia, dont overdo it.....

J is just putting together a small unit of drawers for the bathroom. I have been sorting out all the H****r shoes and sandals out that I cant get on my feet any more upsetting as they are very good shoes and mostly hardly worn, had I been younger I would have put them on that well known selling site, but everything is such hard work so the charity shops will think its christmas ;-) ;-) ;-)

we saw C yesterday but only for a short while, issues with S partner really sadden us and we dont know why :-S :-S

promises to be a nice day , all my washing is done and dried, craft stuff put away, now what do I do.....

hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine, take care dont get burned

Love to all Jean xx <3

Jean you know you don't want to give up your card making, it is what keeps you sane. Go on, decorate round it.

Well it may be a heat wave in southern England but here we have rsin today. It was nice the last two days though so can't complain. :-)

JustJean Report 16 Apr 2015 08:05

AH , you know me so well Ann ;-) ;-) test match is on , so ......

The little drawers J was making are in place now , it is surprising how much stuff came out of the other drawers, some stuff was 2004 :-0 :-0 lots of hair products that we no longer use so all sorted now and binned. next job is our large cupboard with all my lladro and nao boxes in I am gloing to put the various ornaments in their boxes and take them to the hospice shop. less dusting :-D :-D we also have another large cupboard with, all sorts of stuff in, so little by little we are getting it all minimal its hard now to do a lot in one go... I cant stand long enough J is also admitting to getting tired now..but the first thing we are doing today is go and get the Freezer sorted :-) :-) no more defrosting although the tall freezer we have now is working well but it is a seven drawer one and usually jam packed full...why we get so much when there is only three of us and we usually have mainly fresh food I will never know :-S :-S :-S

Today looks as though we may get some sun, yesterday was dull and colder , so fingers X.....

Sallie I hope all is well with you and Alun , hope Jennie is doing o.k. Since D has been upgraded she seems to be working harder than ever :-0 :-0 but she is a stubborn missie and wont slow down... the new medication for the MS appears to be o.k. too
still we are grateful that she is able to carry on...she really is brilliant

Marie hope your family and of course yourself are doing well.. I have missed my garden , but have some shrubs and flowers in our small front garden well its hardly a garden just some bits round the edge, the" Daff "Camelia is bursting with buds some already opening , sadly it doesnt last long in flower... I have two containers either side of the window, one with a fuschia in it an the other some Asters, but I think we will change that one for something taller and larger... we cant see them but it looks good from the road ;-) ;-) ;-) ......I have prattled on, so will stop now and wish you all ,home and abroad the very best love and wishes.....

Mo in Kent Report 16 Apr 2015 18:59

Hello my lovelies, how are we all.
Jean, goodness me, card making at that time in the morning, I do hope you managed to do them correctly, if it were me, I would probably have them inside out, and upside down..LOL
Hows the new freezer going ? We bought a four draw one, but had to go and get another one, to put on the top of it with another four drawers. Lord only knows why, as like you, a lot of our meals are cooked from fresh products.
I think Roly expected a shortage of food items, and stocked up big time. When we had the chest freezer, we tried to rotate things, but it never really happened that way. The amount we had to throw away was unbelievable, as it was well out of date, and goodness knows how long it had been in the freezer.

Ann, I hate it to sound like I am bragging, but we have had another beautiful sunny day.
Last Friday, our grandaughter went to the holiday nursery club. When she was picked up, she looked like a beetroot, she was absolutely fried to a crisp.
My son and daughter in law, complained bitterly to the woman in charge, the little ones should not have been allowed out for such a long period.
When asked why they had not covered Lilly in her sun cream again, the woman said she didn't know it was in Lilly's bag, for crying out loud, the nursery itself, when it's open, knows that all the little ones carry their protection in their bags.
All Saturday and Sunday she was being sick. Obviously she had a touch of sunstroke.
My son was so furious, he complained to the head master on the Monday morning, but they pass the buck and it was the woman in charges fault according to him.
I just wish they would not send her anymore, it's neglect as far as I am concerned, on the holiday clubs part.

Enough of my gripes.
We did have a bit of good news today, our Lilly has got the primary school that her parents wanted for her.
Her little friend who lives next door, also goes there, so at least she will know someone when she starts in September.

Must go and get my bath now, darts tonight, I hope and pray my thumb lets me play properly, it's still so painful. So much for the sun being good for arthritus, it's not working for me yet. lol

Love and hugs, Mo xxx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 16 Apr 2015 20:53

Mo that is appalling, nowadays all nurseries should be aware of the rules regarding sun cream and the headmaster would ultimately be responsible if your daughter took it upbwith the local council.

Ann, I agree with you that it was appalling about what happened to Lilly. Thankfully, she is back to her mischievious self again.

Nothing exciting has happened here today, so I just hope that you are all well, and enjoying lovely weather.

Hi, folks, the freezer has arrived :-D :-D :-D no more defrosting, ;-) ;-) ;-)
its quite funny here at the moment, we have the new freezer in place and have to wait before we can put our food out of the old one, which is now outside still full of food extention lead is through window so said freezer can be plugged in... :-S :-S :-
are you? later on we will put the food in the new freezer ;-) ;-)
we had it delivered today as it would have cost £ 35 on any other day but free on Sunday...which works out better as D and J can sort it all out and I can just watch ;-) ;-)

Elizabeth , have a nice weekend with your family too. so nice of you to remember us.

Hope the sun is still shining where you are Ann, its nice here but quite cold...

so now we shall have lunch and then I can have my nap and it will all be done :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Have a nice day you lovely lot <3

Jean, what new neighbour ? Have I missed something...I thought they had a little one, that was quite friendly to you both. Or is this the neighbour the other side that has just done a bunk. Curious and even curiouser if you ask me. LOL
Is everything now in your nice new freezer?
Tomorrow, we are having new pipe work in the bathroom, and nice new lino laid, this needs doing following the leak we had a few weeks ago.

Hope you are all well, Sallie, Ann, Sylvia, Marie and Huia, it seems ages since we heard from you, you know what a worry guts I am when we hear nothing for a while.
Take care of yourselves please.

Night god bless, Mo xxx

Don't worry about me, Mo, just worry about my computer. The last few days I have had the greatest trouble just getting into the NZHerald and GR, on both google chrome and internet explorer, and even when I do get in they don't want me to see more than the first page. No problems with other sites though.

Hi Mo, and everyone

Mo ...... I cannot believe that that stupid woman let a child get too much sun. Obviously needs re-training before she is allowed to be in charge of them again.

it really feels like spring is really here ............... it has got so warm that I had OH bring up a couple of boxes containing my "spring and summer" tops and skirts

I have now almost completed the switchover ............... but being a true Brit, I still a couple of warmer tops left in my closet "just in case"

Daughter tries to sketch or paint every morning, and emails a picture of what she has done ................. today it was of the first crocus flowers in her garden. She said the snow only melted a week ago, and now the spring flowers are blooming :-)

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 21 Apr 2015 19:22

Right Jean, if next door is up for rent again, how do you fancy nice friendly neighbours called Mo and Roly, they come with references stating what good neighbours they will make, they are kind, patient, and very quiet.
They keep a clean tidy home, the garden will be well maintained, and the interior will be kept decorated at all times.
I fancy a change of abode, and area, providing the rent is no more than £1.50 a week, we can manage that on our pension. LOL
Seriously, I do hope you get good neighbours love.

Huia love, I know that you have problems with your internet, but I care as a good friend does, when we don't hear from you for a while. After all, we have all been friends on here for a good few years now, and miss each other when there is no news at all.

Sallie, I had forgotten about Jennie and Michael moving in with you...der stupid me.
It will be nice for you, having their company, even if it is only for a short while.
Perhaps it's just as well that you and Alun, didn't downsize your house when you wanted to move that time.
Is it a greater distance for Michael to get to work now? Once they get better off financially, they may move closer to you both.

LOL Sylvia, my winter woolies are still in full use, even though the sun has been shining, it's still a bit on the chilly side most days.
I have to admit that I have changed to a lighter weight coat, as the proper winter one is a bit to heavy.
When we go to Yarmouth at the end of May, I think I shall pack two cases, one with woolies and trousers, and the other with summer gear, I don't want to get caught out.
Thank goodness the snow has started to melt where your daughter lives. It has laid for weeks now hasn't it.

My garden is starting to look quite good, the bluebells I transplanted into pots last year, are now in full bloom, and look glorious, the fuscia bushes are really starting to sprout. The only trouble I have, is the blessed garden of the house over the back of us, has started growing weeds by the bucket load, and the rotten bind weed has started coming under the fence again. It's a never ending job trying to keep it clear, as fast as I pour weed killer under the fence, they seem to thrive on it.
We complain to the council every year, about her lack of garden maintenance, but it makes no difference, she clears it once a year, and the garden must feel like it's it's birthday when that happens, a lazy lazy young woman thats what she is.

Well my lovelies, I will say bye for now, take care, hugs to you all, Mo

more news on the house next door, the lady gave her notice in within a week of signing up..... her mother who lives close by is not well and she wants to be nearer to her, the landlord has a middle age couple with a dog that is dying of cancer they should move in soon.... the usual problems are the familily especially if they have cars.... but we shall wait and see...like I said never a dull moment ;-) ;-) ;-)

tried a new die out today , lovely, but couldnt settle to do any more, we had planned to go out tomorrow, but BHF are coming to collect the old freezer any time betweeen 9---5 so we just have to wait...I have gone completly mad and bought loads of craft stuff , I dont care :-D :-D :-D I shall make a note of who I will leave various stuff to , just in case ...not that I am intending to go anywhere just yet
