Hi,Sallie, glad you are back with us , its like losing an arm if you are missing :-D :-D :-D
hope Alun can get good results when he goes to the hospital, It must be a worry its the not knowing that causes the upset......

I have not made any cards for some time I have a huge stock of ready made ones, so have spent time going through every drawer and box throwing bits of scrap away ,I would never use most of it...came across all manner of things I had forgotten I had, sorted all the diecuts into cello bags so I can get at them easier, and bought some new storage drawers they hold A4 sizes with lids so all i need to do now is label what each drawer holds.. got them off C/C two lots that stack on each other.... looks much neater now....

I am always glad when the visit to the eye clinic is o.k. I have new glasses too. just need to get my weight down and hope it helps with my walking. not easy at my age its hard to shift the bulk ;-) ;-) ;-) plus I object having to do it :-| :-| its my liking of sweet stuff that lets me down, that and little will power :-( :-(

we will continue to pray for Alun and the rest of your family......so lovely lady try and stay strongand keep making the cards :-D :-D :-D

love to everyone else take care Love Jean xxx <3 <3 <3

Finally somebody came and got me onto broadband. He put the 2 filters into different positions, and now it works!! No need to pay $250 for a new jackpoint.

That is good Huia, strange the other people didn't tell you that, guess theyw anted to make the money from you. Hopefully you will be able to be on here a bit more now.

Sallie It is good to see you back with us, sorry you have had a blip but at list you were able to make some cards. Aluns appointment will soon come round now and, as Jean says, it is the not knowing that is a worry.
Jean, I am sure it won't be long before you get itchy fingers again and start making more cards.

Mo, hope you are ok and the family too.

We had a lovely long weekend in Hampshire and it was great to see Luke walking/running around. He is still such an amenable child and gave us a big smile when we walked in the door. He has a good memory and we are sure he remembered us. The weather was mixed but Saturday was glorious so we were able to walk and sit by the sea. Back later, got to go shopping for food.

Photos of our weekend on the blog.

Huia Report 20 May 2015 01:55

I have been blocked from a community page on FB because I dared to criticise the fact that they did not say where the photos came from. It is a legal requirement for a lot of them to state that. I am not the only one, my friend from whose page they took the photos had also pointed it out to them and he was blocked, and Gail, who I believe was Ruby from Oz on here, 'liked' my comment before it was removed, and she is now also blocked. If there is any more illegal copying of my dad's photos without my permission and an acknowledgement, or of photos from my friend's page, I will try to contact FB and get them removed, and also the whole page. What is wrong with including an acknowledgement?

Not good enough is it Huia?

I have photos from Hampshire and the latest of our garden both on facebook and on my blog.

I just knew Jean, and then you don't do anything by halves do you? I look forward to seeing them.

glad you liked the photos, I did only put a couple of Luke on there because they were all similar.

Burger and chips sounds nice but we are trying to stick to fish, slads and chicken for a few weeks as we have found that is the best diet to lose weight with. :-)

Sallie Report 22 May 2015 00:58

Jean, like Ann I too thought that it wouldn't be very long before you would make some more cards. lolol!!! Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the cards you have just made.

Hope you all enjoyed the home made beefburgers for your tea. Did you make them Jean?

Ann, I really need to lose some weight, the medication I am on has made me put on a good bit. I would like to be able to stop taking it, but at the moment I know that won't be possible. I am also on a high dosage, so it has made it a lot more difficult to get the weight off.

When I diet, I still use the Weight Watchers diet from a good few years ago, fish, chicken, salads, vegetables and fresh fruit. I find that I can lose a steady two to three pounds a week. while I'm on it. But can't lose as much when I'm on this medication.

Hope that both you and T are managing to lose weight okay.

Mo, hope that both you and Roly are okay. I hope that Roly's blood pressure is staying down and that he is feeling a bit better each day.

Hope that everything is alright with Lilly and that she hasn't tried to open any more windows lately. Just want and hope for her stay safe.

Huia, pleased to see that your internet is now working okay. Hope that you are getting along alright. Are you still working in the charity shop?

Sylvia, hope you and OH are enjoying your daughter and grandson's stay with you and that the weather has been good for them.

Marie, we haven't heard from you for a while, hope all is okay with you and your family.

Well girls I am going to bed now, so will chat again soon.

Take care everyone.

Love and best wishes.

Morning friends, J said where are we going to put all these flamin cards :-D :-D :-D
but some are going to D,s place and I am taking some to one or two charity shops in this area..... then I can start again ;-) ;-) ;-)

just watching the news and see there was a earthquake in Kent I hope Mo and family are o.k. what a fright, a lot of folk would wonder what was happening....

talking of weight (not a word I like) I lost one and a half stone before christmas and now find I have slipped back into the old ways and put the lot back on, very depressing at my age, its so much harder to come off :-( :-( :-( but I struggle so much with walking so I will have another go and see if it helps.... D and I do Slimming World usually,. really all the same as you do Ann and Sallie....so onwards we go ;-) ;-)
now what to have for breakfast.... see you later...

love to everyone Jean xx

I find if I just watch what I eat, less red meat, eat only chicken and vegetables, fewer potatoes, and also walk further than usual (i.e. exercise) I can lose weight, but if I just do the healthy eating and no exrecise I don't lose weight.

Huia

Huia Report 22 May 2015 09:11

I have taken to jogging on the spot, much easier than going for a walk on our rough hilly road, particularly as my medic alarm wouldn't work if I went far. I do the jogging several times each day, unless I have gone to town to work in the shop or do my shopping. I also watch what I eat. I have had to give up cheese which I love to nibble on in the evening, as that seems to put the weight on. I am slowly losing it if I am careful, and slow is better than fast. I certainly feel a bit fitter for the exercise.

Huia, I would be on the floor, I have just walked with my cane to the bottom of the yard unaided, usually J has to hold on to me even when I have my cane tomorrow I aim to walk to the end of the parking end, then I will try and go round to the front of the house, :-D :-D :-D two dodgy knees and sore hip doesnt help either, plus being a fat old bird ;-) ;-) ;-) well done you <3 <3

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 May 2015 15:59

Have you got a walker Jean, even walking with a walker would be exercise. With the vivofit2 that I wear, when I have been sitting too long I get a red line so I then get up and walk around the house, lounge dining room, kitchen up the stairs sometimes. I countes and 200 steps gets rid of the line. steps soon mount up.

JustJean

JustJean Report 22 May 2015 16:58

Yes Ann I have a three wheel walker , but just wanted to have a go with my cane...
a few years ago we bought D a scooter and they talked me into having one but I thought if I just used it I would stop walking altogether ,so I got rid of it... didnt really like it...

Just knocked up a few more cards that someone has ordered, ... vert simple ones decoupage so easy :-D :-D :-D :-D very dull here today and cool too , tomorrow promises to be nicer so I will take some pics of the cards... <3 <3

Jean, thanks for reminding me, I had forgotten that Mo and Roly were going away some time in May. Let's hope that they are in Margate and are having a nice holiday there.

Just looked at the pics of your cards, they are really lovely, so bright and cheerful.

We went to Derby this morning as usual, trouble is, I started with a migraine since we arrived home, although it isn't as bad as it was earlier on, thank goodness.

Take care.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 23 May 2015 18:22

Hello girls,
Sorry not to have posted recently, time seems to fly by.
I was so saddened to read about Dizzi, she will be missed, and to say I was shocked is an understatement.
I know she had had various problems, but she was always so cheerful through it all.

We are looking after our grandaughters Pug, whilst they are on holiday. Oh lordy, he has me in stitches.
He has a lovely bowl for his food, but refuses to eat out of it, so I have to put his food on the kitchen floor, so that he will eat, fortunately, he is on dried food, so it's not quite so messy.
If I want to go to the loo, I have to take him with me, otherwise he howls at the living room door till I come down.
The only problem with him, is that he has not been doctored, and he keeps trying to mount my legs.
Poor dog, what he needs is a nice girlfriend, not an old biddy like me.
Our grandaughter keeps messaging me, to ask how he is, bless her she misses him, more so than her boyfriend I think.

We go away next friday girls, but I am not looking forward to the journey.
I must try and get back to you before we go, but with this dog sitting, trying to pack, and keeping the house cleaned of dog hair can be a nightmare.

Take care my friends, hugs to you all, Mo xxx

Hello girls,

Yes Mo it was sad reading the news about Dizzi,, I still, can't quite believe it. She was always so cheerful, despite her health problems. She was a lovely lady so caring and thinking of others and will br very much missed on GR.

Mo, how are things with Roly? I hope that he is a lot better now. Hope that your dog sitting is going along okay......it is a good job that he only has dried food so that it is easier to clean up.

I love dogs, we still have Jay here and of course Jennie and Michael are living here too, now.

Both my brother and niece have a pug each, they are lovely little dogs and can be quite comical When my brother's dog needs a wee, he actually has a wee down the sink nearest to the back door.lol!! I have never seen a dog wee in the sink before and he hasn't even been trained to.

Jean,Ann, Sylvia, Huia, hope that you all had a lovely weekend.

Must go and get ready for bed now, so will chat soon.

Take care everyone.
