Problems with water? I am trying to drain a lot out of our concrete water tank as there is a leak in it since the thunder and torrential rain on Saturday night. There had been a slight, weeping crack in it for some time, but the downpour really put the pressure on it. It was spurting out (about a third of the way up the 8 or 9 ft high tank which holds 22,000 litres - 5000 gallons). I spent all Monday morning googling and phoning, trying to find somebody who repairs such things, but no luck, and I have learnt that there are 2 other people in the district who have the same problem. Today I went to town and bought a tube of Knead-it Aqua, which somebody told me I could apply from outside the tank - I certainly dont want to try to get a ladder into the tank and climb down into it, I would probably get stuck in the opening. Wish me luck for my goobying tomorrow, and hope and pray the rain will stay away for at least 24 hours, preferrably a week.

Oh Huia, good luck with the water tank, and please don't climb into it, knowing how your luck runs love, you would get stuck inside it, with no one around to rescue you. Perhaps your son could check it out for you, next time he is over your way if it doesn't work.
Ann, no symptoms so far from the jab. This particular nurse who gave us the jabs, is very gentle, and I didn't even realise she had finished. The other nurse just shoved the needle in like she was doing some darning last time round. Nasty woman, I think she was having a bad day. LOL
Now what has happened to our Jean, Sallie,Sylvia and Marie, they are missed, we need to catch up on their gossip. Take care all, hugs Mo xxx

sorry ...........
feeling a bit down
Last week, our friend told us she has a serious problem, and more tests are being done to find out how bad it is
On Sunday, I heard that my sis-i-l in England (brother's widow) is in her own little world, can't walk, can't speak, has 8 carers a day going in, and things are changing rapidly, so she may not last until Christmas. She's 85, and her daughter says "Mum is no longer there"
On Monday, I heard that the daughter of one of my cousins in Australia had died, age 59, of cancer.
I'm still trying to get my head around it all.

Oh Sylvia, I am so sorry to read of your sad news, it's never easy to accept I know my love, stay strong Sylvia, and know that we are here for you, should you need to vent your anger at any time.
Oi saucy minx Jean, I am no longer queen of the darts board,i'm afraid this arthritus is a real Bu**er, and my aim is longer true. If I hit the board, and not the person scoring, it's a miracle LOL but I still enjoy myself. You really are unlucky with your online purchases arn't you, what with having your Paypal account robbed that time as well, it's really not good enough. I do hope your doctor sends you a lovely christmas card, as by now, you should be on his mailing list with all these ere visits you make to him. Don't tell me, is he tall dark and handsome, if he is, can you arrange an appointment for me.
Love and hugs to all, Mo xxx

Great news the missing parcel has been traced, miles away :-| :- should get it today. but wont hold my breath ;-) ;-) ;-) The doc is a petite blonde lady a real gem though, I had a phone call at 7 last night from her telling me she is putting through a perscription to hopefully help with a long term problem, how good is that, :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Nowt wrong with your mind old girl ;-) ;-) its a long time since we were fleeced by some low life, I had forgotten it....lol....it is approx 8 weeks since we came here, but I am already known, as the card lady, fame at last, and last night one of the carers came and asked if I had a needle and thread , she had split her pants, she said someone had told her if anyone has a needle it would be me as I have everything !! so Mo, you have to curtsey when talking to me in the future. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Walks into room, curtsey's to her Maj Jean, good evening maam, how's your day been today. Oh Jean, wonderful news re your parcel. Now if it had happened in this area, a parcel could have ended up in Gillingham Dorset, rather than Gillingham Kent. But thank goodness you have received it at long last. How fortunate that you had a needle and thread to hand, the vision of the carer rushing around with her undies on show, goodness me not a pretty sight at our young ages.
Our Lilly has got to have a hearing test done on the 9th of December. The school have picked something up with her not taking any notice when she is spoken to. Perhaps this may explain her misbehaviour at times. It looks like we are going to lose two of our granchildren to the other side of the world. Our ex daughter in law, is emigrating at the end of January to Australia, along with our grandchildren, her new husband and their daughter. Our son has agreed to them being taken, as he believes they will stand better chances for their future. We are both devastated, and our son is upset at the thought of not being able to see them on a regular basis, but theres always skype I suppose, but theres nothing like a good cuddle with them is there.
Well me dears, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, love to all, Mo xxx

Mo
sorry to hear your two are moving to OZ .............
You'll have to save your pennies so you can visit them down there. As well as making sure that you maintain contact with them and your ex-daughter-i-l via letters, emails, Skype, etc
I have another internet friend whose son and family moved down under, then the marriage broke up down there. He's just re-married ............. but friend and husband manage to get down there about every 2 years and spend 2 months or so re-connecting with the grandchildren. Plus, of course, Skype.
Of course, I may see this differently from you guys ........
........ we left England without a look back at what it would mean to our parents. My father died before our daughter was born, but OH's parents would come out every 2 years for 3 or 4 weeks ............. spend half the time with us and half the time with OH's sister and her children. All 4 of their grandchildren were out here.
Now my daughter lives on the other side of Canada with our only grandchild .............. flying there takes almost as long as it would take for us to fly to England (about 8 hours vs 8-9 hours).
That's how life goes for us ................ we moved for opportunity. Daughter moved to be with her husband, and they have never been able to afford to move back here.
Life changes from children and grandchildren visiting regularly to grandparents visiting as often as they can afford.

Thank you Sylvia and Jean, for being so understanding. Sylvia, we don't have any contact with our ex D.I.L, to such bitterness went on regarding the divorce, so there would be no way we could go and stay with them over in OZ. So it looks like skype is our only way. We shall have to make this christmas extra special for the children, as it may be our last together as a family, after all, non of us are getting any younger. It's bad enough losing our eldest daughter, and two grandchildren, and they are still here in the U.K, let alone losing J.J and Courtney.
Oh Jean, how unlucky you are, but then again lucky to get your money back. At least by going to the store, you can view what you want to buy, and it will be a nice day out for you both, as long as you take it slowly, and don't get excited and run around the shop. LOL
I can't believe how many people have now put their christmas decorations up, also the outside lights. The true meaning of Christmas has vanished into thin air. But then, I tend to be an old fashioned girl. I do have to admit that when my children were young, the excitement began on the 1st of December, when they helped to decorate the tree. But now christmas decorations, and cards are in the shops way to early, tempting parents to start putting them up before the end of November. Oh well, moan over.
Bye for now dear friends. Hugs to all, Mo xxx

Christmas excitement for us never really began until about 7-10 days before Christmas, at least in the house.
There used to be a Christmas Dinner and Party for the children of faculty members where OH worked ................ the meal was so delicious (not only turkey but German-style duck or goose with red cabbage) that many faculty would turn up without their children!!. Our daughter loved going ........... and we had it set up so that we chose the date closest to Christmas, usually a Friday, and going to that party was the beginning for us .............
We'd go out and buy the Christmas tree on the day after, set it up and decorate it on the Sunday. Christmas cards were opened after that, and I would attach them to ribbons to hang from close to the ceiling in the rooms.
Sometime during the following week, we would have a Staff Wreath Making Event where I worked, with hot cider and snacks, while we made our own wreaths and table decorations from material we collected ourselves in the Garden or by the roadside. During that same week, daughter's school would hold their Christmas Carol Service in the Cathedral, and school would be over.
Those events together all spelled the beginning of Christmas.
So really, the tree and all decorations only went up on the weekend before Christmas, 10 days before being about the earliest. Most of the presents went under the tree just 2 or 3 days before Christmas, parcels from overseas still in their mailing wrappings, and no-one, but no-one, was allowed to pick up and shake parcels in an attempt to find out what was in there.
All decorations came down and were burnt, out of the house, or packed away by about 8 or 9 pm on the evening of 12th Night.

My hot date let me down Jean, he fell asleep on me....not literally I mighty add. I have got writers cramp, since yesterday I have written out over 70 christmas cards, fortunately not all of them need posting. Whew, exhausting work, thank goodness it's only once a year, as my right wrist and the hand itself wouldn't be able to take it. Thats why my message was a quickie Jean. Tomorrow we are looking after baby Ava, whilst our son goes for an MRI scan. He has been having headaches for a few months now, and this will be his second MRI, but they just want to recheck the last one to be certain theres nothing untowards going on. After our nephew having the brain tumour, we are glad they are ensuring things are o.k. Well thats it folks, time to go and watch "I'm a celebrity" so I will say good night god bless. Love and hugs Mo xxx
