Hello ladies, Well it's little old me. I meant to come back before now, but what with one thing or another, time passes so quickly. I will try to explain re my laptop. After changing the mother board, the hard drive, poor lickle lappy was returned to P.C world. Three times we picked it up, and was unable to get into it. Eventually, the technician, after much yelling and shouting from us, discovered that by changing to Google Chrome, he was able to connect. At the moment, I am awaiting a new battery, after two were returned to the supplier. The new battery has had to be ordered straight from Toshiba, and wont arrive till about the fifth of February. Oh girls what a nightmare this has been. I was able to use my tablet, to look into Face Book, but found it very hard to use, and couldn't access any of the usual games that I like to play. At least I was able to keep up to date with my family.
I hope you all had an enjoyable New Year. We stayed in for a change, but the television programmes were abysmal. The only good thing was the fireworks display at midnight, now that was brilliant.
I hope you are all keeping well. I do hope to hear from you soon. Sending my very best wishes to Jean, Sallie, Ann, Marie, Sylvia and Huia, plus any of our friends I have forgotten to mention. Take care, hugs Mo xxx

Well, pleased that you have managed to sort something out Mo, is it a very old laptop? It doesn't seem right that it has been such a problem if it is relatively new. Anyway I hope it keeps going now. We stayed in New Year as well, yes TV was awful. We had a meal then at midnight we joined our neighbours outside with our fizz and watched a superb firework display almost overhead, it was from the golf club up the road we think, must have cost a fortune.
We are fed up with the abysmal weather, It was worse when we were at Lynda's in the L District, although luckily she was not affected by flooding. But it has still been pretty bad here and Gloucester is on flood alert still.
We have just given in and ordered a tumble drier. We are going to have to put it in the conservatory which means a chair has to go to make space, but with the bad weather we have got fed up with struggling to dry washing.

Hi girls,
Hope that you and your families are all okay and that none of you have had any problems with flooding.Just wish we would all have a bit more of seasonal weather instead of all the rain we are having.
Wishing you all a Very Happy and Healthy New Year, although I am a bit late sending them to you.
We have had a lovely day today, it is Alun's 70th birthday , so my cousin came over from North Wales and treated us to a meal out, as she didn't know what to buy him, It was a lovely meal and she even bought him a birthday cake. As you all know he is a model railway enthusiast, so she bought him a Thomas the Tank Engine cake, so he has had a great day.
Will speak to you all again soon,
Take care everyone.
Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx <3 <3 <3

Oh Sallie, how good to hear from you my love. Please congratulate Alun on his 70th birthday from us. Oooh a Thomas birthday cake, yummy, I do hope he has saved us some, please send it down the cyber hatch, I will eat it with my cuppa, once my dinner has gone down a bit. How did your christmas and new year go ? Did you have a full house like we do every year, great to have them all, but even greater when the time reaches about ten p.m, when we can sit down and relax a bit.
Ann, my lappy is twelve years old, yes I know an old gal now, but I know what and where everything is. I tried using Roly's, it's a brand new sparkly up to date thing, and I just could not get used to it, talk about confusing. It's familiarity breeds content at the end of the day LOL I do hope you don't get flooded out Ann, it's such a worry isn't it. My heart goes out to those who have suffered. We are very lucky at the moment, even though it's been raining hard here all day, we are far enough away from any rivers for it to be a worry for us. We used to have a tumble dryer, that we kept in our brick built shed, but it lost all it's inner lining from age, and we never replaced it, mind you I now wish we had replaced it. Our house looks like a chinese laundry at times, with two clothes horses full to the top, and all the radiators covered in damp washing. No wonder our windows are running with water at times.
I do hope our Jean is o.k, I notice she is on the missing list, and hope she has got a sick note to cover her abscence LOL Luf ya Jean. <3 <3 <3
Well I will say cheerio for now girls, take care, hugs Mo xxx

Hi Mo,
I have not long arrived back from my usual weekly appointment at the hospital, and thought that I'd pop on to see how you all are.
Alun received his birthday present off Jennie, Michael, Richard and Christie today, they bought him an engine for his model railway layout. It is the engine he has wanted for a while, but he thought that it was too much money to spend on it, so they decided to buy it for him as it was a special birthday. He was absolutely thrilled with it as you can imagine. He is like a little boy with a new toy! lolol!!!
I hope everything is okay with Jean, and that they haven't had any trouble with flooding. I have sent her a pm, but haven't heard anything from her.
Also hope that all our other friends and their families are okay.
Speak to you all again soon.
Love, Sallie. xxx <3 <3 <3

Bless you Elizabeth, our best wishes to you and your family, for 2016 and beyond.
Hi there Sallie, I hope your hospital appointment went well love,it's my new year wish for you darling. I bet Alun was like a cat with two tails, getting that wonderful birthday present. It will keep him happy for hours now. I have to admit it's rather strange, our Jean not answering a p.m, I just hope and pray that they are both alright. In a way it's a blessing that they are in their apartment now, as any flooding would be handled by the landlords, especially as they are retirement flats. I hope D has not suffered with the flooding, as I know that Jean and J, would be there in a flash to help out.
The latest on our Lilly....she woke very early just before christmas, and crept downstairs without waking anyone up. She went into the kitchen, climbing over two stair gates to get there, found a knife, and proceeded to attack the plaster on the walls in the living room. There is an enormous amount that she had chipped off, before she woke her parents with the noise. They took her to see the doctor, and explained the situation, stating that she is a danger to herself and the rest of the family, and needs assessing as soon as possible. It was bad enough when she dangled herself and the cat out of the bedroom window, but this is the straw that broke the camels back. Now they have to wait once again for the appointment. Considering these episodes have been happening since she was about two years old, enough is enough.
We have been shopping for new curtains for my bedroom today. I had no idea of what type or colour I wanted, and despite the fact that we went to several shops, I ended up in the one I went into first, much to Roly's disgust after traipsing all over the place. LOL but you have to be sure they are what you want before you buy them don't you.
Well my lovelies, I shall say cheerio for now. Love Mo xxx

Hi girls,
Nice to see you all on here, like a few other threads on GR for a while, it has been very lonely.
Thank you Mo, my appointment at the hospital went okay, have to go back a week on Wednesday 20th so the psychologist can finish the rest of her assessment on me. So then she will hopefully be able to tell me what therapy I will need to start with. Alun goes to to see the cardiac surgeon the day before on the 19th.
Like you all, I am wondering if Jean and family are all okay. I am getting concerned that she hasn't replied to our pm's, it is not like Jean not to reply to them. Thinking of her.
Ann, keep forgetting to ask you if your grandson is in Nottingham University or Nottingham Trent University an which campus he is on. As you probably know we live nearer to Nottingham than to Derby, and of course Alun did his degree at Nottingham Trent University, physics and maths for three years and then the extra year for his teachers training.
Hope he likes and enjoys being at University in Nottingham and that he will do well with his degree.
Sylvia, hope things are not too bad for your friend and that she is comfortable.
I know I read on one of the threads that you are having some medical tests soon. I hope that they all go well for you and with nothing to be concerned about . Hope that OH, and your family are all okay.
Huia and Marie, I hope that all is well with you and your families.
Glad you managed to find the curtains that you liked for your bedroom Mo. What colour are they?
I hope and pray that the doctor will be able to soon get Lilly referred to someone as soon as possible, it is a very worrying situation for you all. Bless her, I will be thinking about her. Sending her love and hugs and also to Ava too. <3 <3 <3
Will speak to you all soon.
Take care everyone.
Love and best wishes. Sallie. xxx <3 <3 <3

I see the last time I posted on this thread was before Christmas. As some people know, I had a mini-stroke on Christmas day, spent 4 days in hospital. I have been banned from driving for at least a month. Not easy when I live so far from town. I will have to beg for rides from neighbours or pay a lot of money for a taxi. At least I am well stocked up on food apart from fresh fruit. I have powdered milk and have frozen some of the fresh milk. Frozen and tinned veges. Also stocked up on some dried fruit.
The neighbour who took me in to the hospital is a funeral director. How many people are delivered to hospital by a funeral director? At least she wasnt driving the hearse.
Tomorrow (Saturday) my son and his wife are coming up from Rotorua to take me to Papakura to celebrate our birthday (he will be 56 on Monday, I will be 80). My daughter and granddaughter will be meeting up with us there. Peter has to work on Monday, hence the early celebration, plus I am hoping to get a ride to Papakura to work in the Hospice shop. If I cant cadge a ride with anybody I will have to get a taxi, about $80 I imagine, but I havent asked any neighbours. There will probably be somebody who will take me or bring me home or both.

Hello my friends,it's so good to hear from you.
Huia, I am sorry to hear about your stroke, I really had no idea it had happened love. Have a wonderful joint birthday celebration with Peter, and congratulations in advance for your 80th birthday. Typical Huia, feeling the need to go to hospice shop, even after what you have been through. You have to slow down my love, but knowing you as we do, you are unable to just give up and sit on your bum and do nothing. Just take it slowly please.
Ann, it's hard to describe my bedroom curtains, they are basically a beige background, with red and gold embroidered flowers on them, they look really nice now that they are up.
Hi Sylvia, so whats this about your having medical tests, I do hope things are not serious love, I send you my very best wishes, and have everything crossed for you.
Well girls the latest on our Lilly. At 4.17 a.m this morning, our phone rang...(.panic stations who is ringing at this hour of the morning) Hello...Nanny me and Ava are playing,.....are you downstairs darling......no nanny we are upstairs....I woke Ava up and we are playing........it's night time darling it's dark outside,.... I am awake nanny and playing. Oh good lord, I said I am tired now babe, and I am going back to bed night night. I rang our son first thing this morning, to explain what had happened, and D.I.L phoned me back saying that Lilly had woken at 3.00 a.m and had gone downstairs and wrecked the place. She had heard Lilly talking, and thought she was speaking to Ava, when in fact it had been me. Lilly's face was swollen and bruised where she had been throwing herself around, D.I.L broke down in tears at what she had done to herself. Anyway to cut a long story short, Lilly was taken to the doctor at tea time. Whilst in there, she broke the doctors computer, the instrument for looking in eyes, and threw his paperwork around the room. D.I.L tried to stop her, and the doctor said to ignore it, as he wanted to see how she was reacting. He got straight onto the hospital, but the person he needed to speak to had gone home. So he has written himself a note and stuck it on his wall, to remind him to ring the hospital first thing monday morning. For the time being the doctor has prescribed Phenegen (sp) to help her to sleep, but none of the pharmacies in town had it, so it can't be used till tomorrow night. Oh lord, I wish she would sleep a full night, and allow her parents and sister to sleep as well. So after the early morning call, we were both like zombies this morning, but this is only one night, not a daily occurence as it is for Lilly's family.
Jean, take care sweetheart, stop chasing J round the apartment, you know it's not good for you. love ya <3
Big Hugs ((((((HUGS )))))) for our lovely Sallie.xxx
Well nighty nighty girls, take care, hugs Mo xxx <3

Mo, I want to go to the shop as I enjoy the company. I know the boss wont let me work too hard. I get a bit bored sitting here at home on my own. Being banned from driving for a month I feel a bit frustrated, but my funeral director neighbour is taking me in on Monday, as she will be working, so I can look at the shops in Papakura, then either get a bus to work (only 2-3km) or one of my co-workers will pick me up just before lunch to take me to the shop. If I was at home all day I would probably take frequent naps on the settee, purely from boredom I suspect. I need more exercise, including exercise for the mind and soul.

Oh dear Mo. Have they actually had a diagnosis for what lily's problem is? What makes her so destructive, both of herself and other things? They must be frightened to go to sleep at night.
