It was lovely today and we went to Abbotsbury gardens where the Rhododendrons, Camelias and Magnolias were lovely while there we saw six Red Kites overhead and in the garden a beautiful male pheasant and a Golden pheasant. We came back to Burton B and ate our rolls in the NT car park by the sea. There was a cold wind but we were able to sit out by the car where it was sheltered to eat. Then sat in the garden when we got back. Tomorrow and the rest of the week it looks like rain though which is a shame. |

For several days now, my phone has rung in the afternoon or early evening. I pick it up and say good afternoon/evening. There is no reply. I have even shouted HULLO. But then a click as they hang up. This afternoon I said "if you are not going to talk to me I will scream" and they promptly hang up. I doubt if this is a criminal action, just a nuisance. Next time I answer the phone I wont say anything but will moan as if I am in agony, see what happens. I think I will have to get on to telecom to see if they can trace the calls. |

Sylvia, I have never heard of that. I might talk to the telecom people some time, ask what can be done about it. |

Huia, have you got a whistle, if you have give it a big blow when they refuse to answer next time love. But as Sylvia has said, it could be a computer generated call, we very often get them, they are a blessed nuisance, especially if you rush to answer the call when you are busy doing something important. |

Mo, I did think of a whistle, in fact I have put one here by the phone, but then I wondered if I could be accused of doing something illegal. Anyway, my scream is probably just as piercing. |

Huia we have an answer phone and don't answer the phone unless we recognise a voice. Nuisance calls soon ring off. :-) |

I havent had any more of those calls since the time I said "if you dont speak to me I will scream". They promptly hung up, so maybe it was some teenagers being stupid. But I must try not to answer my phone so quickly in future. It is right beside me and I can usually pick it up after one ring (when I have climbed down from the ceiling! - I have the volume up so loud). |

He was quite emotional when he first went on the programme as apparently he had been on a previous year encouraged by his Mum and I think she has since died, so he was doing it for her. |
