Jean did the people who couldn't cope with making cards upset you? Or were you upset because they were unable to make them? Why could they not make them, were they disabled in some way? Maybe this time, make Christmas cards and have some very simple bits to stick on the cards prepared for those with dexterity problems. give it a go though because there will be some who can cope and who will enjoy it. Is there anyone else living there who you know is able to make cards as well as you?

Mo, Oh, poor you, sorry you have not been well. I hope the tests give you results to deal with whatever the problem is. Do come on here and let us try and cheer you up when you feel down though. Sending you special healing ((((((hugs)))))) :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 <3

Ann mainly the frustration when they tried to do it, I dont think I could be a carer , but it is suprising how one gets used to seeing the folk who are in here, people with dementia, stroke victims, quite a few in wheel chairs both men and women,I am probably one of the low care residents.but as I said people are moving out all the time, there is a waiting list to get a place so its changing all the time, its a lovely place to come to and the carers are amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them its not a place were you are unable to get out . I am hoping that some of the wives may want to come and have a look at the card making, who knows maybe one of them may like crafting......

Hi everyone

Mo ....... sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well. I hope you get good results from the tests. Keeping my fingers crossed.

We had a good time with our daughter ........... it was so nice to have her on her own, we could concentrate on some of the things we had to discuss, such as wills, who the lawyer was etc etc etc.

Now we hear that our friend's condo went on the market last Friday, and sold on Saturday, for more than the asking price :-S :-S . As the other friend over there said ................. "J would be pleased'!!

It was a lovely large condo.

Mo in Kent Report 10 Aug 2016 19:02

Hello my friends,
Good to hear from you Sylvia, and pleasing that you had a good time with your daughter.
Isn't it funny how our children do not walk to talk about the things that we want clearing up, before our demises.
When we spoke to our family, all we got was, please mum and dad, we don't want to talk about these things.
We told them that our funeral arrangements were all in place, where to go for our wills and house deeds etc, but they really didn't want to talk about it, but, we needed them to know.
I know that none of us want to talk about these things, but, how much easier it would have been for Roly and myself, if our parents had talked to us about what their wishes were. As it was we had to plow ahead regardless, and hoped that we were doing the right things for them all.

I am really cheesed off, I was told my results would be back today, but when I phoned, the surgery had not heard from the hospital. Oh well, knowing my luck they have lost the results, hey that's life, I will no doubt have to undergo them again.

Take care my darlinks, speak to you again soon. Love and hugs. xxx

Sallie Report 11 Aug 2016 17:38

Mo, hope that you have received your results today and that they are all okay and there is nothing to worry about. I am thinking about you and hope that we will hear from you again soon with good news. <3 <3 :-) :-)

We have told both Richard and Jennie what we want when the time comes, I have even told them what hymns and music I want and that I want everyone to wear bright and cheerful clothes, not black. Although they know where Alun wants to be buried, he hasn't gone as far as to tell them what else he wants . As a matter of fact he hasn't even told me of his wishes.....to be honest I think he is happy to let the ones left behind to decide that. lol!!! Typical of Alun.

Jean, I am still not able to make any cards, but hope that I will soon feel like doing them once more. Since Jennie and Michael have moved out we have moved all my craft stuff back into the bedroom, so I have my craft room back which I thought would give me the incentive to start.

Hope that your tutorial goes well as I'm sure it will. As Ann said it will be something new and different for them to do. You never know there might be someone that can also make cards so maybe will be able to help you with the tutorial

Ann, just looked at your photo blog, I love the photos you took over last weekend.

Sylvia, glad both you and OH enjoyed having your daughter to yourselves for the week. As you said, you managed to talk about things like wills etc. So at least now that is done it's something that you don't have to worry about again.

Huia, hope that everything is okay with you and your family.

Well, hope to look in again soon.

Take care everyone.

Love and Best Wishes. Sallie.xxx <3 <3 <3

Hi

Nice to see you posting again, Sallie xx

Talking about the will and the lawyer was actually minor ........ we didn't tell her exactly what was in the will, just that she wasn't getting everything :-D

We really would like to know what she might want to keep of the things we've amassed over the years ........... heirlooms from both sides of the family, jewellry (some inherited), art work of many different kinds, even some furniture. The idea being that we could start to divest ourselves of some stuff if she didn't want it ........ and that is where she is being very uncomfortable at discussing things!

Mo .......... hope you have now got your results.

Jean ............ hope you are feeling more comfortable about giving the class another try xxx

Hello girls, tis pain in the BTM, me. lol
I have got my results at long last, stand by it's,ESCHERICHIA COLI,in other words E.Coli in my kidneys.
I am on strong anti-biotics for five days, and the doctor wants me to have another colonoscopy done.
When I first was told what it was I was gob smacked, how the heck did I contact this, and am I contagious, and it turns out that yes I am, but if I am careful, ie with hand washing etc, it can be contained.
We were due to go to a family BBQ tomorrow, but now we wont be going, as I don't want to pass any germs on to our family.

Good to hear from you Sallie. The card making will come back in time sweetheart, there is no rush, just take each day as it comes my love.

We have a birthday coming up tomorrow, it's Ann's ,so.
***************************************************************
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ANN. xxx
***************************************************************
Enjoy your special day.

How lovely that your friends Condo sold so quickly Sylvia. Our neighbours have been on holiday for the last two weeks. Before they left, they had sold the house, but we have noticed that the sold sign has come down, and it's back on the market.
I wonder if our neighbours are aware of the sale falling through, if not, they are in for a huge shock when they arrive back.

Well my friends, I will say cheerio for now, take care, have a lovely weekend. xxx

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 12 Aug 2016 17:07

Sallie, you will get there, try setting yourself a project. Choose the next family birthday and tell yourself that you will make a very simple card, nothing complicated. Sometimes just picking out the backing papers and toppers to make a card gets you going. But don't stress about it, it will come when you are ready, maybe when the cold weather returns.

Sylvia, maybe your daughter doesn't want anything but doesn't want to upset you by telling you.

Mo, at least you know what you are fighting now. I have heard of E Coli of course as it has been in the papers recently when there were quite a few cases due, they think, to people eating Rocket leaves but I have not heard of E coli of the kidneys. Did the doctor say how you may have caught it? I hope the antibiotics clears it up and that you soon feel better and that you haven't passed it on. :-) :-) <3

Lovely day here.

thank you Jean, Mo and Sallie for your cards.

Jean, that was a lovely one T was quite fascinated to see how it was made.
I had a very good day. I only had one actual present, a pretty necklace and earing set from a friend. Only problem is I have trouble with earrings these days. One ear was always a problem, when pierced it didn't seem to go through straight. Now, as I rarely wear earings it has semi sealed.

My other presents were money and a voucher. I had over £100 to spend and have so far managed to spend half!!. We went up the M5 to Webbs garden centre at Wychebold as there is a good Hobbycraft there. Spent £40 in there on bits and pieces including some Christmas stuff. Had a walk round the wild flower garden created by the garden centre which is lovely, took a few photos. We then had lunch in the Harvester pub nearby which was very nice. very low key but enjoyable.

Jean, I hope the council manage to trace the person from the envelope. The police won't be interested as it is a civil matter. The council should be though.

You sound as though the birthday was a huge success,Ann.nice to have presents that you can use, My earrings were for pierced ears, my ears have closed up , so I got rid of all my earijngs and loads of jewellry too...

glad you liked the card and your T works wonders for my ego ;-) ;-) ;-)
I did some die cutting , bit of a let down though, my little machine isnt cutting as well as it used to, I did notice there are quite a few on sale on e-bay,wonder why :-S :-S
I have used it a lot though, but I love it ,

it was good advice you gave Sallie about doing some simple cards to begin with,
although knowing Sallie it wouldnt be long before she made some of her special ones again :-D :-D

off to watch corrie back later Love Jean xx

Hello girls.
Ann, the doctor does not know how I have managed to get the E.Coli, she can only guess that it happened following my last colonoscopy, I have had any amount of problems since it was done, and I have to have another one done soon, when I get the appointment through.
The first lot of meds the doctor gave me, did not agree with me, and I have started a new lot today, I am fed up of feeling so poorly, and in so much pain, that I just hope and pray they start to work soon.

Oh for goodness sake Jean, fly tippers are an awful curse. I do hope the council clears it up soon for D.

Sending you all hugs, Mo xxx

AnninGlos Report 16 Aug 2016 20:57

Mo, do you mean you think you actually caught the E Colie in hospital? Awful to be made ill when trying to be made better. But did you have the pain before the procedure? If so there must be something that preceded the E Colie.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 18 Aug 2016 18:17

Yes Ann, I had very bad pains in my abdomen in the right side, and they discovered a cyst in the bowel, that they removed. Also, the camera broke down during the procedure, and they had to start again, it was a nightmare, don't you remember my telling you all about it, I laughed at the time, thinking that I was the only person I knew, that that kind of thing could happen to.
So wether in taking the device out, and re-inserting it, caused a few problems, I really don't know.
I have got to do another urine test tomorrow, that the receptionist tells me the nurse will check,to see if the blood has cleared or not. If it hasn't then another sample will be sent of to the hospital for analysis.

I hope you are all well, PLEASE lord let you all be. Hugs Mo xxx

Oh Mo I so hope this will soon be over for you. Actually no, I don't remember you telling us the details but it sounds awful for you. Also sounds as if the hospital is responsible for your current condition which beggars belief. I hope the specimen is clear as that will be a step forward. <3

Hi everyone

we've had some very hot weather here, and I have spent most of my time in the north-facing living room, which is much cooler, and therefore haven't been on the 'puter very much.

Mo .......... sorry to hear that you have E. coli in your kidneys. You didn't by any chance have a bout of cystitis fairly recently did you? The most common way to get the kidneys infected is by E.coli in the bladder causing cystitis, and then travelling up into the kidneys.

I have to be very careful as I seem to have a permanent low level of infection that can blow up into cystitis if I get run down. Doctors don't want to keep on giving you antibiotics, neither do I want to keep on taking them because the bacteria soon get resistant ............

I try to keep it all under control by taking cranberry gels every day, and drinking lots of water.

I hate to say this, but tea seems to be bad :-(

Having lots of sugar is also bad :-(

You just have to be very careful washing your hands .................. you shouldn't be THAT infectious!!!!!!!

Take care, and I hope it clears up quickly xxx
